!'''The Rogues Gallery'''
[[folder:The Rogues Gallery in General]]
A budding group of criminals armed with special weaponry, who time and again would clash with Team Flash.
----
* AbortedArc: Their formation has been cut out short, since Cold and Heat Wave have been shunted off to ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* AppropriatedAppelation: When Barry offhandedly calls Snart's little gang a "RoguesGallery", Snart remarks that it's "cute" and actually calls his gang that in ''Rogue Air''
* BadassNormal: The three members (so far) aren't even metahumans; just career criminals whose powerful weaponry makes them a threat to the Flash. In ''Rogue Air'' Snart frees the meta-humans so they can repay the favor by joining his gang. Rainbow Raider and Weather Wizard consider the offer.
* DebutQueue: Each appearance of the group has seen a new member joining (though not strictly ''debuting'' in the series - Mick and Lisa both showed up in TheStinger of a previous Rogues episode first).
* DemotedToExtra: In Season Two, due to Cold and Heatwave being shunted off to ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* DerivativeDifferentiation: Just because some villains are members of the Rogues in the comics doesn't mean they're members in the show. Weather Wizard, the Pied Piper, and the Trickster while high profile members in the comics are independent villains here. Indeed when a VillainTeamUp between Cold, Weather Wizard, and the Trickster happens Cold backs out in part because he doesn't approve of James Jesse's mindless insanity.
* GadgeteerGenius: Zig-zagged. Most of their weapons were stolen from STAR Labs. But they are smart enough to become familiar with them and repair them, not just build any from scratch themselves. So after the police confiscated their weapons, Cold arranges to have Cisco kidnapped so he can build them new ones.
* IdiosyncraticEpisodeNaming: So far each episode they show up in has the word "Rogue" in the title.
* PutOnABus: Lisa was last seen riding out of town on a motorcycle at the end of "Family of Rogues", and Mick and Snart are now main characters in "Legends of Tomorrow''.
* PrimaryColorChampion: Leonard is associated with blue, Mick is to red, and Lisa is to gold which is a shade of yellow.
* RecurringCharacter: Unlike the most of the meta-humans who tend to be one off [[VillainOfTheWeek villains of the week]], the Rogues are recurring and persistent foes.
* TwoGuysAndAGirl: Leonard and Mick are the guys, while Lisa is the girl.
* VillainTeamUp: Even though he beat the Flash in his first appearance all by himself, Snart is smart to recognise strength in numbers so he slowly begins to form his own gang. He first starts with Mick and then brings his sister Lisa along for the ride.

[[folder: Leonard Snart / Captain Cold]]
!! Leonard Snart / Captain Cold
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captaincold.jpg]][[caption-width-right:350:''"I love this game and I'm very good at it."'']]
->'''Known Aliases:''' Captain Cold
->'''Played By:''' Creator/WentworthMiller, Testyn Zredicka (young)

A world-class thief who gets a hold of a high powered, experimental cold gun.

He is now [[TokenEvilTeammate one of the main characters]] in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
----
* AbusiveParents: His father was a bad cop who took his anger out on him and his sister.
* AdaptationalAttractiveness: He's perhaps the most handsome take on any versions of the character to date.
* AdaptationDyeJob: He's dark-haired in the comics, but blond in the series
* AdaptationalVillainy: Captain Cold of the comics is a very strict anti-villain, who detests the idea of killing people unless he has to, especially innocents, would actively work to avoid civilian casualties, and was a FriendlyEnemy with Barry. In the show, he's far more willing to endanger innocents (though, while he does mention not liking the idea of killing police officers, he specifies it's due to PragmaticVillainy, not morals), even outright killing a man in cold blood (pun intended) to distract the Flash, and repeatedly kills other criminals he does deal with to avoid them spilling any information about him. He still seems to respect the Flash, but not to the same extent.
** As the leader of the Rogues, in the comics he's more interested in petty theft (and even calls out those who harm women and children or at least try to); here, his main goal is to defeat the Flash.
** He starts to gravitate more towards his comic book version in "Rogue Time", where he agrees to keep Barry's identity a secret -- even if he [[CooperationGambit does want to stay free in return --]] and, when the Flash hurts his pride by saying he wouldn't need to kill anyone if he was as good at his job as he thinks he is, Cold takes up the challenge, for a while.
* AffectionateNickname: Cold is sometimes called "Lenny" by Lisa.
* AlliterativeFamily: With his younger sister, '''L'''isa. Their father is named '''L'''ewis.
* AlliterativeName: As '''C'''aptain '''C'''old.
* AndStarring: Is credited with "Special Guest Star" citation in his appearances.
* AppropriatedAppellation:
** The look on his face when Cisco calls him "Captain Cold" just ''screams'' this. He officially adopts the nickname as of ''Revenge of the Rogues''.
** When Barry calls his gang of special weapon criminals a "rogues gallery", he smiles and considers it "cute".
* ArchEnemy: Second to the Reverse Flash. Wells actually goes on to call him Barry's "nemesis". The animosity between them only escalated after the events of "Rogue Air". But, after the events of "Family of Rogues" they become more like friendly enemies.
* AwesomenessByAnalysis: It's mentioned he studies potential targets for months before making his move, and describes police deployment and response time with extreme precision when the Flash foils the robbery in ''Going Rogue''.
* BadassNormal: He's not a meta-human. He's just a criminal who got his hands on extremely powerful weapon that made him dangerous. And even without it he shows his most dangerous weapon is his brain. He's also the first villain to score a clear victory over Barry. He's ''so'' skilled that in "Family of Rogues", after finally arresting him, Joe and Barry agree that it's for the best that they put him into the new metahuman wing of Iron Heights Prison, even though he's not superpowered.
* TheBadGuyWins:
** The outcome of his first episode. He gets everything he wants, defeats the Flash, leaves him alive out of his own volition and walks away scot-free.
** Kind of wins again when he returns in ''Revenge of the Rogues''. While he wasn't able to get rid of the Flash, he accomplishes his other goal to at least expose the Flash to the public and still escapes prison at the end, as he prepared a Prison (Transport) Break [[CrazyPrepared in case he gets arrested]]. However, as of right now he and Mick lost their high-tech guns; still, this might be just a minor issue for him, since he and Mick are now familiar enough with the weapons' technology so they now might be able to make their own.
** And again in ''Rogue Time'', he finds out Barry's secret identity and forces him into a CooperationGambit, escaping arrest once more, plus recovering his and Rory's weapons, and getting a new one for his sister.
** After a hat-trick of victories against the Flash, Snart scores another magnificent victory in ''Rogue Air''. Not only did he force the Flash to erase his criminal records, he's also responsible for sabotaging Team Flash's plan to send off the metahuman prisoners to Lian Yu Island. After freeing the prisoners, he recruits the majority of them to his Rogues Gallery. At this rate, Barry's ego should be used to getting trampled over by Captain Cold.
* BecauseImGoodAtIt: Uses this as a justification on why he's a criminal.
* BecauseYouWereNiceToMe: He denies it but Snart is clearly benevolent to Barry because of the latter's continually [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre reaching out towards him.]]
* BerserkButton: Someone working with him leaving a job (or "wanting out") before it's finished: he callously kills one of his men the moment he says he wants out and makes it clear enough to the other two what will happen if they try that they have to threaten to kill him so that he'll let them go. It's worth noting that none of his men had anything against ''him'' (and the ones who put a gun to his head didn't even seem to want to pull the trigger) and weren't actually betraying him, they just didn't think he was appreciating the risks The Flash created - yet Snart treated every case as bad enough to warrant murder.
* BiTheWay: Wentworth Miller has declared Snart to be pansexual.
* BigBrotherInstinct: He's protective of Lisa, and he'll do anything to save her - even working with his much hated dad.
* BloodKnight: In "Rogue Time" he states outright that his only motivation is the thrill of breaking the law, and knowing how good he is at it.
* BookDumb: As Felicity is quick to point out, he never finished high school, but what he may lack in academic learning he makes up by intelligence and [[AwesomenessByAnalysis careful observation]].
* ButtMonkey: In the Season 2 premiere, both him and Mick are beaten by the Flash, their weaponry destroyed, and caught. Subverted when we find out is AllJustADream of Barry's to cope what happened when the Singularity occurred.
* BreakTheHaughty: His dad coerces to pull heists with him by threatening Lisa, which forces him to change his outlook on things.
* CardCarryingVillain: In particular, he's a rare live action Card Carrying Supervillain. He's the first of Barry's rogues to really embrace the villain nickname given to him by Cisco, and most of his subsequent appearances have him diving into supervillain tropes headfirst and trying his damnedest to play the role to the hilt (such as making his feud with the Flash public, recruiting metahumans and forgoing the payoff for the thrill of facing the Flash) because he enjoys it far more than being a regular criminal, which initially confuses some of the more practical minded crooks he works with (at least before he converts them).
-->'''Cold:''' Here's the thing: I'm a criminal and [[ILied a liar]], and I hurt people and I rob them.
* CelebrityParadox:
** During the {{Crossover}} with ''Series/{{Supergirl|2015}}'', Barry mentions that Music/MariahCarey [[InSpiteOfANail also]] exists in this universe. Wentworth Miller was her LoveInterest in two of her [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uI2cwfluyNo music]] [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0habxsuXW4g videos]], both of which are hit-songs.
** Possibly. ''Series/TheWalkingDead'' is acknowledged to exist in this universe, a show which also stars Creator/SarahWayneCallies, his ''Series/PrisonBreak'' LoveInterest.
* CharacterDevelopment: Being forced to be TheDragon for his dad brings out the moral side in him - he is however still a bad guy.
* CivvieSpandex: He wears a longcoat and goggles, as opposed to the white and blue costume he wears in the comics.
* ClockKing: He carefully studies police response times down to the second.
* CrazyPrepared: Snart has a plan for ''everything''. When he and Rory are being transported to Iron Heights, he's calm and collected. Why? Because in case that happened he already arranged to have his sister break them out as part of a contingency plan.
* ColdHam: Appropriately enough, he manages to be completely over the top even while being completely deadpan and non emotive.
* DeadpanSnarker: Snart has a pretty droll sense of humour to say the least, when he's not busy coming up with [[EvilIsHammy hammy]] [[PungeonMaster puns]] or [[SilentSnarker silently dealing with Mick Rory]].
* DebtDetester: He may not want to admit it, but he doesn't go after the Flash anymore since he saved Lisa's life. He is however perfectly fine with other villains going after the Scarlet Speedster, and the most he'll do for the Flash is let him know that trouble's coming.
* {{Determinator}}: In his introductory episode, Joe notes that while Snart has faced setbacks in the past, once he sets his sights on a prize, he ''never'' gives up until he gets it. In the same episode, [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness we see what happens]] to members of his crew who [[KnowWhenToFoldEm don't share his persistence]].
* DesperatelyLookingForAPurposeInLife: In his first appearance, he was largely bored. He committed crimes for the money, but planned everything so perfectly that there was barely ever even a chance of him losing. Fighting Barry quickly became his passion, and he took on the LargeHam mantle of "Captain Cold" the second it was offered.
* DidntSeeThatComing: Didn't think that Flash would let himself get hit by both guns to force the streams to cross. But he was aware of the possibility of losing, and had a backup plan.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: "You would do anything to protect your family, just like me."
* EvenEvilHasStandards: Ruthless as he is, he's appalled by his dad's sadistic streak. He also doesn't like the Trickster's antics either.
* EvilIsHammy: In his first appearance, he was cold and professional at all times. By ''Revenge of the Rogues'', he is clearly having a '''blast''' being a supervillain. There's a notable shift between his calm and cool attitude when not in costume, and his over the top mannerisms when in costume.
* EvilSoundsDeep: He has a rather low, silky voice.
* ExactWords: In exchange for erasing any evidence that he exists, Snart promises Barry that he will help transport the illegally imprisoned metahumans across town and protect Barry if they get loose and try to kill him. He is true to his word. He does help transport the metahumans across town. And he does kill Deathbolt before he can kill a helpless Barry Allen. Snart said nothing, however, about not releasing the imprisoned metahumans himself.
* FamilyValuesVillain: Despite all else, Cold does value family love and loyalty in fact he compliments Cisco on his willingness to die for his brother.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Acts very polite, if stern, most of the time, which just makes the more ruthless acts he commits even more unexpected.
* FreezeRay: His WeaponOfChoice, which is said to be a miniature cold generator that shoots "flames" that achieve absolute zero.
* FreudianExcuse: His dad was an AbusiveParent who taught him and his sister how to be crooks.
* FriendlyEnemy: He has this to a degree with The Flash and his team it least from his own side as shown in Rogue Air where he chats amiably with them, seems to respect them and is willing to protect Barry from Deathbolt. However he's still a (self admitted) liar and criminal and he's not afraid to manipulate and use the team to get what he wants.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: From ordinary street thug to Central City's first true supervillain in a matter of ''days''.
* GadgeteerGenius: While not as smart as Cisco - he's not able to create a new cold gun by himself - he is smart enough to disassemble, then reassemble it, and is familiar enough with its mechanics to know when Cisco tries to sabotage the second one Cold is forcing him to make.
* GlassCannon: He's not a metahuman, so he's just as vulnerable as a typical human being. However, his extremely high offensive powers thanks to his cold gun more than make up for this.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: Not really unusual; they protect his eyes from the glare that comes from the Cold Gun. Also counts as StylishProtectionGear.
* GracefulLoser: Takes his loss to Flash well. Probably because he had a backup plan.
* HeelFaceTurn: As shown in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Becomes part of ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''[='=]s EnsembleCast.
* HiddenDepths: "Family of Rogues'' shows he's more complex than being a CardCarryingVillain, he genuinely loves Lisa and he's disgusted by his dad's cruelty.
** Also, anyone who gets picked up and carried by a speedster is usually extremely disoriented and dizzy once they're put down (Eiling was unable to stand and mostly incoherent after the Reverse-Flash ran him across the city). Snart, on the other hand, just needs a split-second to get his balance after Barry grabs and runs with him, and he's grinning like a kid who just got off the roller coaster.
* AnIcePerson: Captain Cold isn't a metahuman like other villains so far, instead he uses a "cold gun" that can slow atoms down to absolute zero. Even before that, he used liquid nitrogen to freeze and break open an armored truck. He also offers a boy some ''cool mint'' gum.
* AnIceSuit: Once he settles into his supervillain role, he dons a dark blue parka.
* IGaveMyWord: Claims this trait, though living up to it is another matter, as is whether what he promises being a case of ExactWords or not. To his credit, he does promise to keep Barry's identity as The Flash a secret, and remains true to it, not even telling his sister.
** ILied: However, he does also point and that he's a criminal and a thief, so trusting him isn't exactly a guarantee.
* InTheHood: Wears a hooded dark blue parka as Captain Cold.
* JumpedAtTheCall: Just check out the way his face lights up when he first hears his supervillain name. When he comes back in ''Revenge of the Rogues'', it's obvious that he revels in the opportunity to be a bona fide supervillain.
* KarmaHoudini:
** Thanks to a combination of [[KnowWhenToFoldThem knowing when to walk away]], his smarts, and the Team dealing with the much more dangerous Reverse-Flash, Snart [[TheBadGuyWins succeeds in every goal he sets for himself]] in the first season.
** Averted in Season 2, where he ends up in Iron Heights, and for once he doesn't have a contingency plan to escape. Although he tells Barry he'll be out soon. And during the winter finale Weather Wizard breaks him out.
* LargeHam: Invoked in-universe by Snart. In private, he's a meticulous, dead-serious criminal mastermind. A bit intense, but not hammy. Once he gets the cold gun and the codename from Cisco, he starts hamming it up, having JumpedAtTheCall to be a supervillain. Even when out of costume but talking to Barry he keeps it up, but in other, private situations he's not as hammy. It's like a stage persona for him.
* {{Leitmotif}}: Has his own [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNDp32w-Euw theme music]].
* ManOfKryptonite: His FreezeRay was ''specifically'' built by Cisco to counter the Flash in case he ever went rogue. It was stolen by a janitor working at S.T.A.R labs who tried to sell it to Leonard who promptly used it on him. It turns Leonard from a skilled, yet petty thief to an dangerous threat. That said, Snart doesn't consider it to be the Flash's real weakness, but rather his need to help others.
* ManipulativeBastard: Clearly enjoys manipulating events to benefit himself.
* MovieSuperheroesWearBlack: While he stills wears a blue parka, it's now a dark navy color rather than the bright shade seen in the comics.
* MySisterIsOffLimits: Discussed, he's more shocked that his sister kissed Cisco as part of her HoneyTrap, but he's not actually mad about it.
* NervesOfSteel: Even though its only the fourth episode, by the time Snart's on the scene, people are aware of the Streak, and after his first robbery is foiled, his crew decides Central City is too hot for them. Snart, on the other hand, never shows fear, neither of Barry, the police, or even when his own crew draw down on him. He just makes a plan, and is able to hand the Flash a solid defeat.
* NotSoStoic: He has the happiest smirk on his face when he hears Cisco dub him "Captain Cold". Also when Barry calls them the Rogues.
* PersonalityPowers: Well, it's a gun rather than his own power, but he's still a stoic, calm professional that gets a cold gun. {{Justified}} since he specifically ''chooses'' the cold gun, even rejecting the heat gun he's offered before. Even before that, however, he used a liquid nitrogen projector in heists.
* PetTheDog:
** Offers a kid a stick of gum and banters with him while casing a museum.
** Before he gives Cisco the ultimatum of revealing the Flashs' identity or his brother will be killed, Snart tells Cisco that he genuinely admires and respects him for all the hard work he's done in working to escape his difficult childhood situation and make something out of himself. Snart does this without any hint of irony or sarcasm and it's plain that he is completely sincere.
** After getting what he wants, he releases Cisco and his brother from the Rogues' captivity instead of the [[YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness usual take]].
* ThePlan: He begins forming one, once he gains his freeze ray and after his first battle with the Flash.
* PragmaticVillainy: Snart is willing to steal, kill, and endanger the lives of civilians to achieve his goals. However, he doesn't act without reason, and he chooses not to shoot cops or murder bystanders if he can help it, because it's not worth the time or the attention from the cops. In fact he backs out of a VillainTeamUp with Weather Wizard and the Trickster to kill the Flash, simply because there's no profit to it.
* PromotionToParent: Given the aforementioned AbusiveParents, it's implied that Leonard was Lisa's caregiver growing up. Lisa confirms it in "Family of Rogues," claiming that having Lenny as an influence rather than their father alone is the reason the siblings are not ''worse'' than bank robbers packing powerful firearms.
* PungeonMaster: [[AddedAlliterativeAppeal Passively pummels people with a plethora of ice puns]].
* RecurringCharacter: After the Reverse-Flash and Zoom, Cold is the villain with the most appearances.
* RedOniBlueOni: He's methodical and calculating and [[IncrediblyLamePun cool]] under pressure, compared to Heat Wave's [[IncrediblyLamePun hot-headed]] excitability.
** Their costumes demonstrate the difference as well. Cold's outfit and goggles are quite a bit more stylish than Heatwave's, Cold's clean-shaven-crew-cut look is professional compared to Mick's 5-o'clock shadow, and even Cold's weapon is a front heavy sleek design compared to Heatwave's industrial bullpup flamethrower.
* SecretKeeper: Finds out Barry's identity in 'Rogue Time'; agrees to keep it secret as part of a CooperationGambit; Barry doesn't get him arrested, or locked away in secrecy, as long as Len keeps the secret and adopts a ThouShallNotKill policy.
* SelfMadeOrphan: Cold kills his father with his cold gun in ''Family of Rogues''. This took place the second after Team Flash extracts a bomb Lewis put inside Lisa's head to force Cold into most unwanted partnership. This is a notable departure from the comics where he couldn't bring himself to kill his dad....so he had Heatwave do it for him.
* ShadowArchetype: Snart and Barry were both raised by cops, at one point saw their fathers going to prison, developed AwesomenessByAnalysis and eventually got powers from STAR Labs—either permanently or through gadgets—but, in terms of personality, simply became powered-up versions of who they already were.
--> '''Barry:''' Snart's dad is in prison, too? We should start a club.
* SiblingsInCrime: Is this with Lisa.
* SinisterShades: They're goggles, but they're clearly meant to invoke this.
* TheStoic: He almost never raises his voice and maintains a deadpan expression.
* TallDarkAndHandsome: Stands 6'1 and is not a bad looking man.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: Stands 6'1 and is really a sarcastic man.
* ThouShaltNotKill: Originally his view on killing fluctuates based on whether it helps or hurts in getting a job done, but after he kidnaps Cisco, Barry challenges his pride by saying if he were as good as he claims he could do the whole supervillain thing without killing anyone, which Cold agrees to. Later seeing how casually his dad kills people makes it a genuine belief instead of a rule of PragmaticVillainy.
* UnfortunateNames: "Leonard Snart" isn't going to be winning him any coolest names awards any time soon. Both Barry and Joe think it's lame.
* VictoryIsBoring: According to Miller, he's been pulling off flawless thefts with no consequences for so long it's grown boring, and he welcomes the challenge that the Flash presents.
* VillainousBreakdown: May be in the early stages, as Mick claimed he was obsessed with the Flash to the point of forgoing his usual planning and pragmatism. Except not, it's all part of the plan.
* VillainousFriendship: With Mick Rory.
* VirtueIsWeakness: He consider's the Flash's real weakness not to be his FreezeRay, but the fact that he helps people. He takes advantage of this by derailing a train and forcing him to save all the passengers.
* WhiteHairBlackHeart: His hair has a distinct silver shade.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: With Mick Rory. They seem to be friends but they're perfectly willing to point guns at each other if one of them screws up a job.
* WorthIt: His attitude towards killing his father. It's one crime he's perfectly willing to go to jail for.
* WorthyOpponent: Seems to see the Flash as this, going as far as thanking him for keeping him on his toes. He's also notably hesitant to kill him, ''especially'' after Barry helped save his sister.

!! Mick Rory / Heat Wave
[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/heatwave_7.jpg]][[caption-width-right:350:''"Why do they call you people the heat? '''I'm''' the heat!"'']]
->'''Known Aliases:''' Heat Wave, [[Series/LegendsOfTomorrow Chronos]]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/DominicPurcell, Michael Kummen (young)

An old partner of Leonard Snart's, whom he recruits after running into the Flash.

He is now [[TokenEvilTeammate one of the main characters]] in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
----
* AdaptationalVillainy: In the comics Rory dabbled in the HeelFaceRevolvingDoor, and his mental issues are portrayed sympathetically.
* AndStarring: Is credited with "Special Guest Star" citation in his appearances.
* AxCrazy: He's ''way'' too fond of playing with fire for even his own good and threatens to use it on Caitlin when she's in his and Snart's captivity.
* BadassBookworm: Though he had to be told to learn it by Snart, Mick has taken to learning exactly how his gun works so that he can repair it if necessary.
* BaldOfEvil: Similar to Snart's crew cut, but he has stubble as well, making him look rougher.
* ButtMonkey: From time to time, he is mocked due to his love for the flame. However, in the Season 2 permire, both him and Mick are beaten by the Flash, their weaponry destroyed, and caught. Subverted when we find out is AllJustADream of Barry's to cope what happened when the Singularity occurred.
* CelebrityParadox:
** The ''Film/MissionImpossible'' film series was acknowledged to exist in the Franchise/{{Arrowverse}} by Cisco. His actor was on ''Film/MissionImpossibleII''.
** Possibly. ''Series/TheWalkingDead'' is acknowledged to exist in this universe, a show which also stars Creator/SarahWayneCallies, his ''Series/PrisonBreak'' co-star and LoveInterest of Miller's character.
* CompositeCharacter: He's heavily burned like his [[{{ComicBook/New 52}} Prime Earth]] Metahuman incarnation, but still uses a flamethrower ala pre-''Flashpoint''.
* EvilSoundsDeep: As part of the contrast to Snart, Mick has a very rough, gravelly deep voice in comparison to Snart's smoother baritone. Possibly due to smoke inhalation.
* EvilIsHammy: Purcell is clearly having a ball with the role, and it makes him stand out compared to Miller's stoic performance.
* FireBreathingWeapon: Snart gives him a high-tech flamethrower stolen from S.T.A.R. Labs. It superheats the air (hence Cisco calling him "Heat Wave"), and can do the inverse of Snart's FreezeRay, instead heating up objects to [[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Planck_temperature Planck temperature]], or as Cisco calls it, "absolute hot".
* FirstNameBasis: Snart calls him Mick.
* FromNobodyToNightmare: From a burnt criminal to a super-villain.
* GadgeteerGenius: He's smart enough to repair his flamethrower after it gets damaged in a shootout.
* GlassCannon: He's not a metahuman, so he's just as vulnerable as a typical human being. However, his extremely high offensive powers thanks to his heat gun more than make up for this.
* GogglesDoSomethingUnusual: Less unusual than Snart's, as they are meant to protect him from the glare of actual fire, rather than an absolute zero gun.
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He has severe burn scars all over his arms, and possibly the rest of his body.
* HandicappedBadass: Subverted. He suffered third-degree burns that left him with disfiguring scars, but there's been no indication as yet that the damage is anything more than cosmetic.
* HeelFaceTurn: As shown in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* HeroOfAnotherStory: Becomes part of ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''[='=]s EnsembleCast.
* HotBlooded: This should be obvious.
* KnowWhenToFoldEm: He wants to quit after he and Snart get the painting, but he is convinced otherwise.
* LargeHam: Loves being the center of attention and has absolutely no clue as to the meaning of the word "subtle". He and Captain Cold are opposites in more than just the weapons they possess. It's plain Dominic Purcell is having a ''blast'' playing this role. Considering the fact that his character in Prison Break was a stoic, extremely watchful inmate who had to keep his mind intact while suffering under a death sentence, you get the feeling that he's relishing playing a role that lets him cut loose.
* LaughingMad: At one point, he's shooting flames all over the place and cackling like a witch.
* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Snart kept his sister a secret so she could break them out of jail. He stops being upset with Snart after that.
* MoodSwinger: Swings pretty violently between somewhat jovial and mean as all hell.
* OddFriendship: With Snart. Mick's hot blooded nature and pyromania is often a SpannerInTheWorks for Snart's carefully planned heists. Snart in turn, often keeps him LockedOutOfTheLoop and there's not a lot of respect on both sides. It's surprising that they work together and haven't killed each other for one reason or another. The one thing that they seem to share in common is that (after just a little convincing from Snart) they both seem to agree that being supervillains is in itself worth more than the money they can make from pulling heists.
* OddNameOut: Compare his name and codename with the Snart siblings. Their given names follow [[AlliterativeFamily a specific]] ThemeNaming, while both their codenames are [[AlliterativeName alliterate]]. Of course if you consider his second codename Chronos, then Lisa falls with this trope.
* OutOfFocus: Once Lisa joins the Rogues, Mick noticeably falls to the wayside, while Lisa becomes Cold preferred partner, since she's much more sane and stable than Mick is. Hell, Mick didn't even appear in Season Two, before he was transplanted to ''Legends''.
* PlayingWithFire: His flamethrower.
* {{Pyromaniac}}: Snart implies Rory enjoyed "playing with fire" even before being given his new weapon. "Revenge of the Rogues" confirms this.
* RedOniBlueOni: He's [[IncrediblyLamePun hot-headed]] and excitable compared to Cold's methodical, calculating, and [[IncrediblyLamePun cool]]-under-pressure personality.
* RefusalOfTheCall: He's reluctant to stick with the supervillain shtick until Cold convinces him that it's their true calling.
* TallDarkAndSnarky: Stands 6'2 and has a really gruff demeanor.
* TwoFirstNames: Being a Creator/DCComics based character, he has a last name that is traditionally used as a first name.
* VillainousFriendship: With Captain Cold.

->'''Known Aliases:''' Golden Glider
-> '''Played By:''' Peyton List

The younger sister of Leonard Snart, who busts her brother and Heat Wave out of a prison transport.
----
* AbusiveParents: Same deal as her brother.
* AdaptationDyeJob: In the comics she is blonde, which together with her yellow/orange costume and ice-skater theme led to her alias Golden Glider (later shortened to Glider). Here she is a brunette, but briefly wears a blonde wig.
* AffablyEvil: Snarkiness aside, she's genuinely fond of Cisco, and is sincerely grateful to him and the team for saving her life in season 2.
* AlliterativeFamily: With her big brother, '''L'''eonard. Their father is named '''L'''ewis.
* AlliterativeName: As '''G'''olden '''G'''lider.
* AloofDarkHairedGirl: Once she no longer needed her facade, she never stopped snarking at people.
* AppropriatedAppellation: She ''asks'' Cisco to give her a nickname after her gun's powers Golden Glider.
* BerserkButton: Doesn't really fly off the handle, but ''do not'' mess with either her brother or Cisco.
* BikerBabe: She loves riding motorbikes.
* CelebrityParadox: Possibly. Cisco regularly mentions ''Series/UnbreakableKimmySchmidt'' in his blog. It has both Creator/JonHamm and Kiernan Shipka (as {{Recurring Character}}s) of ''Series/MadMen'' fame, a show where her actress guested a few times.
* DarkActionGirl: By the sounds of it, she was able to handle all the security surrounding the prison transport without breaking a sweat -- and with a lot of bullets. This is confirmed in "Rogue Time", where she shows herself to be about as good at fighting and using guns and gadgets as her brother.
* TheDriver: She has a commercial operator's license and knows how to drive big trucks.
* DrivesLikeCrazy: While Lisa actually is good at driving, she just enjoys driving recklessly more.
* TheFaceless: In her debut appearance.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: With Cisco.
* TheGhost: in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* GoldMakesEverythingShiny: Gets Cisco to build her a gun that encases her targets in a gold-like substance.
* HellBentForLeather: Wears a heavily leather-y outfit in her official appearance.
* HoneyTrap: Does this to Cisco to get Cold and Heatwave's guns back. Later she develops genuine feelings for him.
* MoralityPet: Despite being a villain herself, Lisa serves as this to Cold. She is literally the one person in the world he genuinely cares about.
* MythologyGag:
** Lisa's first appearance, involving her easily busting Captain Cold and Heat Wave out of a prison transport, is just like her New 52 debut as The Glider.
** Unlike most other villains in the show, her gimmick is significantly different (she doesn't "glide", either through [[UsefulNotes/TheSilverAgeOfComicBooks skating]] or [[UsefulNotes/TheModernAgeOfComicBooks astral projection]]) so her gold gun is more of a nod to the "Golden" part of her alias.
* NeverGotToSayGoodbye: Leonard dies performing a HeroicSacrifice in the penultimate episode of ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'' Season 1. What's worse is it is unclear if Mick told her about it when he briefly returns to 2016 or she's completely LockedOutOfTheLoop.
* OddNameOut:
** Despite the AlliterativeFamily ThemeNaming playing straight, the second letter of her name isn't the letter "E", and her name also doesn't end with a consonant, unlike her father and brother's.
** If you consider Mick's second codename [[Series/LegendsOfTomorrow Chronos]], then she's the only Rogue without a codename starting with the letter '''C'''.
* SiblingTeam: With Captain Cold.
* TheStinger: She first appears at the very end of Episode Ten, though mostly off-screen.
* VillainousCrush: On Cisco.
* WasItAllALie: Originally her interest in Cisco was just part of one of her brother's evil schemes. Later she the feelings become real...and mutual.
* WomanInBlack: She's clad in black from head to toe in her official appearance. Doubles as MovieSuperheroesWearBlack.

----
* ChewingTheScenery: They're both very theatrical.

* GigglingVillain: It doesn't take much to make those nutters laugh. It's genetic apparently.
* ILied: You can't trust a trickster.
* IntergenerationalFriendship: They old enough to be father and son. Except, that's exactly what they are.
* TheMadHatter: They're both crazy and know it.
* MonsterClown: They wear garish colors, joke around, and build weapons out of gags like gift boxes.
* RelatedInTheAdaptation: They're father and son in this work.
* SlasherSmile: Just to point out the fact that they're both ObviouslyEvil.
* TheTrickster: [[CaptainObvious Well, duh]].
* VillainousFriendship: They never betray each other and seem to genuinely like each other. They turn out to be father and son.
* WouldHurtAChild: Axel's first attack is sending box's bombs designed precisely to target children. James Jesse gives bombs in presents to children in his second appearance.

->'''Known Aliases:''' The Trickster I
-> '''Played By:''' Creator/MarkHamill

An anarchist terrorist and conman serving several life sentences in Iron Heights.
----
* AdamWesting: Mark Hamill ChewingTheScenery as [[ComicBook/TheJoker a maniacally giggling DC villain]] prompts major nostalgia [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries for 90s kids]].
* AdaptationalVillainy: The Trickster was a FriendlyEnemy of The Flash and not very violent. Here, he's essentially ComicBook/TheJoker, another DC villain role Mark Hamill is [[WesternAnimation/BatmanTheAnimatedSeries famous for]] which is how he was portrayed in the [[Series/TheFlash1990 previous Flash show]].
* AgeLift: This incarnation of the Trickster is notably older than prior versions, as well as Barry, because 63-year-old Hamill is playing him in live-action once more.
* AlliterativeName: '''J'''ames '''J'''esse. Also doubles as TwoFirstNames.
* AlternateSelf: Averted. Jay Garrick states there is no Trickster on Earth-2. According to Caitlin, "he's one of a kind".
* AndStarring: Is credited with "Special Guest Star" citation in his appearances.
** Mark Hamill being on the set had everyone take it up a notch, and it shows in both the high quality of the episode and the performances of the regulars. Even some of the actors who did not have scenes with Hamill, ''or semi-regulars who weren't in the episode at all'' were angling to try and get some screen time with him.
* BadassGrandpa: Outsmarts the Flash and the ''entire'' police force.
* BadassNormal: He's just a regular human with no superpowers, but through sheer cunning and bomb-making abilities he's able to bring The Flash to his mercy who, keep in mind, at this point now has the ability to ''travel back in time''.
* BadSanta: In the ChristmasEpisode, he disguises himself as Santa Claus in order to give children presents [[AdultFear with bombs]] [[ParanoiaFuel to put under their trees]] as part of his evil plan.
* BatmanGambit: He pretends to be outraged that someone is stealing his supervillain schtick, when actually he's in league with the new Trickster, who's distracting the police to break him out.
* BoxedCrook: Barry and Joe come asking for his help to stop [[LegacyCharacter a copycat Trickster]].
* BreakOutVillain: He was easily the most anticipated villain on the show.
* CardCarryingVillain: Being "the Trickster" is his life.
* CelebrityParadox: Cisco made ''Franchise/StarWars'' references quite a few times, which makes you wonder who played Luke Skywalker in the film(s) he saw. Heck, Jesse HIMSELF makes a ''Star Wars'' reference at one point
* CompellingVoice: Managed to talk his psychiatrist into [[DrivenToSuicide committing suicide]].
* DirtyOldMan: Comes onto Iris.
* DontExplainTheJoke: Has a habit to do this when nobody appreciated his humor.
* EvenEvilHasLovedOnes: His son Axel Walker.
* EvilCounterpart: To Henry Allen, at least as a parent. James manipulated Axel to become a criminal and put him through constant danger just so he can be free again contrasting Henry who is [[MistakenForMurderer a mistaken criminal]] but repeatedly shuts down Barry's constant attempt to clear his name just so his son can live his life.
* EvilIsHammy: Mark Hamill is clearly having a blast playing his old role.
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: His M.O.
* EvilMentor: Towards his son Axel.
* EvilOldFolks: He is one of the Flash's most cunning enemies, minus the Reverse-Flash.
* FauxAffablyEvil: Despite being a criminal lunatic, James is surprisingly polite.
* FoodAsBribe: It's implied he'll only talk to visitors to his cell if he's given some red licorice to eat.
* ForTheEvulz: Apparently the way to keep him from killing Iron Heights guards was to give him cable TV, meaning he was evidently doing that out of boredom.
* GadgeteerGenius: A deranged example. He was able to build a kinetic bomb for starters.
* GoodSmokingEvilSmoking: Breaks out a huge cigar when bragging about how he passed out hundreds of bombs to children.
* HiddenDepths: He cries after hearing Barry's inspirational speech to Patty about proving that she's better than the criminals they fight.
* ImportantHaircut: After his successor broke him out of prison.
* InsaneTrollLogic: When the Flash is at his mercy, he tells him that he will be the one who saves Central City by killing the hero.
* LargeHam: As expected from Creator/MarkHamill.
* LaughablyEvil: He may be a dangerous psycho, but he's just so gosh-darn entertaining.
* LukeIAmYourFather: To Axel Walker. Being played by [[Creator/MarkHamill Luke]] [[Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack himself]], he [[ActorAllusion plays this reveal for all its worth]].
* MovieSuperheroesWearBlack: In his younger days, he wore very loud, [[BrightIsNotGood bright colors]] that were offensively ugly. When he escapes, he changes into a classy suit with darker, muted colors with a pink flower on his button hole that, combined with his crazy hair, gives him the look of an old-fashioned standup comedian/sleazy game show host. Likely intentional on his part, in both cases.
* NotSoAboveItAll: Admits that he was touched by Barry's [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre speech to Patty]].
* ObfuscatingStupidity: He's more dangerous than he seems.
* OhCrap: Usually has this reaction when his plans fail.
* PopCulturedBadass: Makes references to ''Series/BreakingBad'' and ''Film/{{Speed}}'', and is able to one-up the Flash and the police with his aforementioned BatmanGambit.
-->'''James Jesse:''' They gave me cable in prison so [[ForTheEvulz I'd stop killing the guards]].
* PredecessorVillain: Subverted. At first it looks like he has no direct role in the story until half-way through when Axel breaks him out. Then it's revealed he's been planning his escape for a while and reveals himself to be the main villain of the episode.
* RoleReprisal: Hamill played the Trickster in the 1990s Flash show and in ''Justice League Unlimited''.
* ShoutOut: When he tells Axel he's his father, [[Film/TheEmpireStrikesBack it's pretty clear what he's referencing.]]
* TrademarkFavoriteFood: He seems to have a thing for red licorice vines. [[ActorAllusion Not unlike]] [[WesternAnimation/CodenameKidsNextDoor Stickybeard]].

----

* AgeLift: The second Trickster is traditionally younger than Barry Allen in the comics, whereas 27-year-old Devon Graye is older than both TV Barry and the actor who portrays him. Granted, his exact age has yet to be revealed.
* AscendedFanboy: An admirer of James Jesse's "work".
* BastardBastard: Implied, since he and his biological father don't share a surname.
* TheDragon: To the original Trickster, who he turns out to be working for.
* InTheBlood: James says this word for word when he says Axel was born to be the Trickster.
* LegacyCharacter: Walker takes his cues from the original Trickster, James Jesse.
* MadBomber: Has a penchant for using explosives. Must be a genetic thing with his dad James.
* NomDeMom: He seems to be using his mother's surname, considering his father is James Jesse. That said, he didn't assume his father's surname once they reconnect.
* OvershadowedByAwesome: His idol/ father stole every scene in their [[AntagonistTitle eponymous episode]], making him OutOfFocus.
* SmugSnake: He's got the attitude to be the Trickster, but still lacks the skill. That's because he's just following James' instructions.

* RobotMaster: She builds and commands a highly advanced swarm of robotic bees.
* RoguesGalleryTransplant: Of a sort, as she's featuring on a show separate from the Atom's usual setting but still ends up confronting him anyway.
* SquishyWizard: She only has her robotic bees as {{Attack Drone}}s to rely on in combat. Destroy them and she'll be easy to beat.
* SuperPoweredRobotMeterMaids: The subject of her StartOfDarkness. Her robot bees were originally meant for agriculture, but for whatever reason, she outfitted them with lethal doses of bee venom so they could be used as weapons.

He beat Lisa with a bottle when she was little, and he puts a bomb into her head to coerce Cold into pulling heists with him. He doesn't allow anyone else to do talk rudely to them, seemingly thinking only he's allowed to (see quote above).

* ClockKing: Lewis ''tries'', but his lack of patience usually wins out.
* CorruptCop: It was mentioned in Leonard's debut episode that he was a cop who abuses his authority for his personal gain.
* DomesticAbuse: In Legends of Tomorrow, Cold comments that after getting out of prison he beat him and his mother.
* EvilMentor : Of both Leonard and Lisa, intimidating and abusing them (especially her) whenever they didn't meet his expectations.
* EvilerThanThou: Makes his children look moral by comparison.

* GrumpyOldMan: He's very cranky.
* {{Jerkass}}: Lewis is a crook, child abuser, casual murderer, and an overall unpleasant man.
* KnightOfCerebus: Not because he's particularly dangerous, but the sheer depths of his immorality. He tops [[TheDreaded Grodd]] and ties with Reverse-Flash for darkest villain yet seen. Barry doesn't even protest Snart killing him, just questioning why he would kill someone that didn't present a threat.
* LaserGuidedKarma: Leonard thinks so when he shoots him in the chest.
-->'''Leonard''': He broke my sister's heart. Only fair I break his.
* OffingTheOffspring: Threatens to kill Lisa if Cold won't be his Dragon.

* SmugSnake: He talks big, but hates it when things don't go his way.
* StupidCrooks: His son accuses him of being one in Legends of Tomorrow. Despite Leonard giving him the emerald he was fated to get arrested for trying to steal, Lewis still ended up going to jail because he sold it to an undercover cop.
* TookALevelInJerkass: Legends of Tomorrow shows that Lewis, while still a DirtyCop, was a bit nicer before he went to prison; he never beat his son or wife, and when an older Leonard broke in and was talking to his younger self, his first thought was to pull a gun on the stranger.
* WeHardlyKnewYe: Killed off by Cold in his first appearance. We see a bit more of his backstory in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow'', however.
* WouldHitAGirl: It seems that Lisa is Lewis' preferred victim between his two kids. He regularly beat her a child, and implanted a micro-bomb on her as an adult.
* WouldHurtAChild: He hit both Leonard and Lisa when they were children.
* YouHaveOutlivedYourUsefulness: Shoots Barry (who was posing as an accomplice of Snart) after he served his purpose. Good thing Barry anticipated it and caught the bullet.

[[quoteright:350:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/captaincold.jpg]][[caption-width-right:350:''"I love this game and I'm very good at it."'']]
->'''Known Aliases:''' Captain Cold

* AlliterativeName: As '''C'''aptain '''C'''old.
* AndStarring: Is credited with "Special Guest Star" citation in his appearances.
* AppropriatedAppellation:
* TheBadGuyWins:
* CelebrityParadox:
* KarmaHoudini:
* PetTheDog:
* VillainousFriendship: With Mick Rory.

* CelebrityParadox:
* FromNobodyToNightmare: From a burnt criminal to a super-villain.
* PlayingWithFire: His flamethrower.
* VillainousFriendship: With Captain Cold.
* WithFriendsLikeThese: With Leonard Snart. They seem to be friends but they're perfectly willing to point guns at each other if one of them screws up a job.

->'''Known Aliases:''' Golden Glider
-> '''Played By:''' Peyton List

* AlliterativeName: As '''G'''olden '''G'''lider.
* FoeRomanceSubtext: With Cisco.
* TheGhost: in ''Series/LegendsOfTomorrow''.
* MythologyGag:
* OddNameOut:
* SiblingTeam: With Captain Cold.
* TheStinger: She first appears at the very end of Episode Ten, though mostly off-screen.
* VillainousCrush: On Cisco.
* WasItAllALie: Originally her interest in Cisco was just part of one of her brother's evil schemes. Later she the feelings become real...and mutual.
* WomanInBlack: She's clad in black from head to toe in her official appearance. Doubles as MovieSuperheroesWearBlack.

!!Tropes that apply to both characters:
----
* ChewingTheScenery: They're both very theatrical.
* DominoMask: The first one used to wear one in his heyday. His successor wears them currently.
* {{Expy}}: The Trickster has always been the Flash's version of TheJoker.
* GigglingVillain: It doesn't take much to make those nutters laugh. It's genetic apparently.
* ILied: You can't trust a trickster.
* TheTrickster: [[CaptainObvious Well, duh]].
* VillainousFriendship: They never betray each other and seem to genuinely like each other. They turn out to be father and son.

->'''Known Aliases:''' The Trickster I
-> '''Played By:''' Creator/MarkHamill

* DirtyOldMan: Comes onto Iris.
* EvilHasABadSenseOfHumor: His M.O.

* {{Revenge}}: She wants to kill the Mercury Labs scientists who were responsible for her being terminated: the scientists who blew the whistle on her and Dr. [=McGee=] who actually fired her and destroyed her research.

* EvilOldFolks: He's obviously a senior citizen, having two adult children and all.
* ForTheEvulz: While Cold and Golden Glider are motivated by PragmaticVillainy, Lewis kills people just because he can.

* GrumpyOldMan: He's very cranky.

* AdaptationPersonalityChange: In the comics, Piper was, at worst, a WellIntentionedExtremist, often shown to give most of his share of the takings from the Rogues' crimes away to various charities. * BadassNormal: He's not a meta-human. He's just a criminal who got his hands on extremely powerful weapon that made him dangerous. And even without it he shows his most dangerous weapon is his brain. He's also the first villain to score a clear victory over Barry. He's ''so'' skilled that in "Family of Rogues", [[spoiler:after finally arresting him, Joe and Barry agree that it's for the best that they put him into the new metahuman wing of Iron Heights Prison, even though he's not superpowered]].

* BrainsAndBondage: The brains are well-documented. The bondage is Downplayed, as the show is on CW rather than HBO - twice now, Hartley has directly mentioned kink (his fantasy about a man in head-to-toe leather to Barry and mentioning rough trade when Cisco handcuffs him) in what primarily seems to be [[{{Troll}} an attempt to make them uncomfortable]], but his casual language also has BDSM allusions (referring to Wells as Cisco's "master" and Barry as Wells's "pet").
* BrokenAce: A brilliant mind, but he's had little in the way of emotional security for a long time: his wealthy parents disowned him for his sexuality, then he was essentially the protege of [[EvilMentor Harrison]] [[ManipulativeBastard Wells]] who booted him out when he discovered the high probability of the Particle Accelerator malfunctioning, and to top it all off his hearing was damaged by the explosion. Anti-social jerk that he is, it's hard not to pity him given his potential that he's now channeling for destructive purposes.
