[[folder:Clone Troopers]]

! In General
--> Voiced by: Creator/DeeBradleyBaker

* BadassNormal: They have no Force-powers, but that doesn't stop them from kicking the asses of "clankers", even when facing impossible odds.
* CoolHelmet: Part of their armor.
* ClonesArePeopleToo: The series takes pains to emphasize this point, to the point where the implication is fairly clear that the clones are going out of their way to create personalities for themselves, adopting nicknames, hairstyles, tattoos, and helmet art ([[BodyCountCompetition kill counts are a favorite]]). They even paint nose art on their [[GunshipRescue LAATs]].
* CloningBlues: Crops up in several episodes, when they have to face being left to die, or outright sent to their deaths in senseless missions.
* DeadpanSnarker: Despite all of the combat clones being somewhere between ten and fifteen chronological years old, most are ''fantastic'' world-weary snarkers, no doubt due in part to the fact that they share a voice actor.
-->'''Dragonfly-mounted Aleena''': ''*Jubilantly*'' Kazabanee!! ''*Dragonfly dives*''
-->'''Nameless Clone Pilot''': ''Great''. It's gonna be another one of those planets.
* ManchurianAgent: An entire army of them, courtesy of some brain control chips. This eventually led to Order 66.
* MenOfSherwood: They're a competent army, perfectly capable of handling the droids. Individuals and smaller groups however tend to fill in all ranges from RedShirtArmy through {{Mauve Shirt}}s to BadassArmy.
* NonUniformUniform: Most of them have their armor slightly modified.
* ServantRace: They were created for the sole purpose of "serving" the Republic.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Due to growth-acceleration, all of them are half the age they appear to be.

!! Captain Rex (CT-7567)
[[quoteright:244:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Rex-001_1809.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:244:"In my book, experience outranks everything."]]

Second-in-command to Jedi General Skywalker and captain of the 501st Legion.

* {{Badass}}
* BaldOfAwesome: He seems to dye his hair blond, making his shorter hairdo look "bald." He's no less awesome, however.
* BoomHeadshot: Used it in "Rookies" against a disguised Commando droid.
* TheCaptain
* CaptainSmoothAndSergeantRough: The rough to Cody and Bly's smooth.
* ClonesArePeopleToo: Says this in his speech towards [[GeneralRipper Krell]].
* ConflictingLoyalty: During the Umbara arc, he found himself stuck between his duty to lead and protect his troops, and his loyalty towards his (temporary) superior officer.
* ADayInTheLimelight: "The Deserter" and the Umbara-arc mostly focused on him.
* GenreSavvy: He was smart enough to play along when Ventress attempted to use a mind trick on him, and smart enough to [[OutOfCharacterAlert subtly alert Anakin]] in the process.
* TheGoodCaptain
* GunsAkimbo: Seems like Rex has a bit more of Jango in him than most clones.
* HeroicWillpower: He was able to resist a JediMindtrick by Ventress.
* IllPretendIDidntHearThat: In "The Deserter" he is badly injured, and is left by his men on a farm to recover. At evening he found out that the husband of Suu, the woman who took him in, is a deserter clone called Cut Lawquane. After he got to know Cut and his family, and fought side-by-side with him, Suu asked him, whether he was going to turn Cut in for deserting the army. Rex answered that he had no choice in the matter, but then reminded them that "in his condition", he wouldn't be able remember the meeting.
* TheLancer: To Anakin, a role he shares with Ahsoka.
* MadeOfIron: In "The Deserter", he took a blaster bolt to the chest, and not only survived, he was up and fighting that very night.
* ManInAKilt
* NumberTwo: To Anakin.
* OutOfCharacterAlert: Deliberately used it in TheMovie, when Ventress tried to use a JediMindTrick to make him contact Anakin. He not only resisted the mind trick, but fooled Ventress by seemingly complying. This way he was able to warn Anakin by calling him on his first name - which is something Rex wouldn't do for any other reason, since Anakin is his superior officer.
* SatelliteCharacter: Despite being the clone who appears the most frequently, for a long time he was only characterized as "the badass clone captain following Anakin and Ahsoka about". Even when he got a deeper characterization in "The Deserter" and the Umbara-arc, this was brought out by having him react to the personality of/decisions made by others:
** In "The Deserter" he met Cut Lawquane (a clone deserter), and despite disagreeing with him, Rex came to accept his view on matters.
** It's even more apparent in the Umbara arc, when Anakin's replaced by Krell. While Rex disagreed with Krell's orders, he still went through with them, and didn't do anything to stop the execution of Fives and Jesse, until the troopers defied his (Krell's) orders to do it.
* ScarsAreForever: Rex has a small scar below his lip, [[ShoutOut resembling one of]] HarrisonFord's.
* TheyCallMeMisterTibbs: After refusing to execute Fives and Jesse, Krell called Rex a "clone", to which he responded with "It's Captain, sir."
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: He is presented with this choice in the Umbara arc. [[spoiler: He ultimately chooses to be good, turning on Krell.]]
** Previously, he chose to "forget" he ever found Cut Lawquane, rather than turn him in as a deserter.

!! Commander Cody (CC-2224)
[[quoteright:241:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Cody-001_6308.jpg]]

Second-in-command to Jedi General Kenobi and commander of the 212th Attack Battalion.

* CaptainSmoothAndSergeantRough: The smooth to Rex's rough.
* CommandingCoolness
* GoodScarsEvilScars: He's got a pretty nasty looking one by his left eye.
* TheLancer: To General Kenobi.
* NumberTwo: Again, to General Kenobi.
* SatelliteCharacter: Even more than Rex. The description above, pretty much sums up his entire character.
* ScarsAreForever

!! ARC-trooper Echo (CT([=/=]ARC)-21-0408)
[[quoteright:223:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Echo-001_6370.jpg]]

Once a member of the dysfunctional cadet squad, Domino Squad, he and Fives became part of the 501st Legion after showing their ingenuity during the battle of the Rishi moon and became ARC troopers after the battle of Kamino.

* AppropriatedAppellation: Was sarcastically dubbed "Echo" by his squadmates due to his tendency to repeat every order given to his team.
* {{Badass}}
* CoolHelmet: Par for the course for a Clone Trooper. Even gets an upgrade when he's made an ARC trooper.
* [[spoiler: DroppedABridgeOnHim: During the Citadel Trilogy. [[TearJerker Made even worse]] by the fact that it proves to be a SenselessSacrifice on his part.]]
* EliteArmy: As an ARC Trooper.
* [[spoiler: MauveShirt: He got killed in the Citadel-trilogy. The Lucasfilm post-Season 6 spoiler dump confirms he's alive.]]
* NewMeat: Started out as one in his first appearance.
* TookALevelInBadass: With the rest of the Domino Squad at the end of "Clone Cadets" and again in "Rookies". Finally, the end of "ARC Troopers" has him promoted to ARC Trooper.

!! ARC-trooper Fives (CT([=/=]ARC)-27-5555)
[[quoteright:223:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Fives-001_9343.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:242:"[[DefiedTrope I'm not]] [[AMillionIsAStatistic just another number!]] [[ExpendableClone None of us are!]]"]]

Once a member of the dysfunctional cadet squad, Domino Squad, he and Echo became part of the 501st Legion after showing their ingenuity during the battle of the Rishi moon and became ARC troopers after the battle of Kamino. [[spoiler: He would later learn one of the most horrible secrets of the clone army and pay with his life for it.]]

* AppropriatedAppellation: Nick-named "Fives" due to the large number of fives in his numerical designation.
* AscendedExtra: He was meant to be a one-shot clone created for the Season 1 episode "Rookies", but the episode and himself (along with Echo and Hevy) were so popular among fans that the creators decided to expand upon his character, and it got to the point where he rose to become a {{deuteragonist}}.
* [[spoiler: BackForTheDead: He was killed at the climax of the Order 66 arc of season 6, his last appearance being the Umbara arc in season 4.]]
* {{Badass}}: Probably the biggest among the recurring clone characters. It says a lot that he was made an ARC trooper, since ARC units are supposedly a [[SuperSoldier specially cloned and trained elite unit]].
* BadassBeard: He has grown a goatee over the course of the series. The longer it's grown, the more badass he's become.
* EliteArmy: Becomes an ARC Trooper.
* GoMadFromTheRevelation: Finding out about all of the clones being secretly controlled via brain-chips and the conspiracy against the Jedi surely shook his mental stability. He was still sane when he learned of it, but getting drugged by Nala Se only made things even worse for him.
* [[spoiler: IDieFree: He seemed to be glad to die without his chip and knowing the truth, despite being unable to properly share it.]]
* ImportantHaircut: He gets his head shaved completely bald when he gets his inhibitor chip surgically removed from his brain, indicating that he's free of the chip's influence. Justified in-universe in that AZ-3 had to shave him to perform the surgery properly.
* [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal: And with him the last remains of Domino Squad.]]
* ManInAKilt: As an ARC Trooper.
* NewMeat: In his debut episode "Rookies", which provides the current page quote.
* [[{{Deuteragonist}} Quintagonist]]: Despite Rex being the most frequently recurring clone, Fives has a much more complex and rounded character arc built around him.
* [[spoiler: PoorCommunicationKills: This was deliberately invoked on Nala Se's part, as she drugged him before they got to Coruscant to make him seem insane.]]
* SanitySlippage: Nala Se drugged him with some sort of compound that made him aggressive and paranoid while he was being transported back to Coruscant. By the time he found someone willing to hear him out that wasn't in on it, he was too incoherent to properly relay the knowledge.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: When he had enough of Krell's senseless orders costing the lives of many clones, he lead a fighter attack against a Separatist supply ship using hijacked Umbaran fighters despite Krell directly forbidding it. He also goes against orders to save Tup when Nala Se wants to kill him to discover what went wrong.
* [[spoiler: ShootTheShaggyDog: Enforced by canon. He learned the truth behind Order 66, but since the Jedi never found out in the films, [[DoomedByCanon he's destined for failure]]. Having been drugged to render him incoherent, he cannot properly make his case to Anakin and Rex before he's found and shot, and Palpatine goes on to blame his death and that of Tup on madness from a rare parasite, allowing [[KarmaHoudini Nala Se to continue her work]].]]
* SoleSurvivor: He's the only member of Domino Squad to survive [[spoiler: until the last season]].
* TattooAsCharacterType: He has a number "5" tattooed on his right temple. When he's being hunted during the Order 66 arc, it's this tattoo that's used to identify him among the otherwise identical clones.
* TookALevelInBadass: In his debut episode, Fives was just a rookie trooper. By Season 4, he's an ARC-trooper and a bonafide BadassNormal.
* YouHaveToBelieveMe: [[DoomedByCanon As expected]], he can't convince anybody about what he knows about the conspiracy. It helps that he's been drugged to incoherence and paranoia.

!! Hevy (CT-782)
[[quoteright:240:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Hevy-001_3375.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:240:"Less yappin', more blastin'!"]]

Once a member of the dysfunctional Domino Squad during their cadet days and longing for action on the front lines, he and the rest of the Dominoes were assigned to a listening post on the Rishi moon not far from Kamino. He gets his wish when the Separatists send an attack force to the moon to take over the listening post.

* AppropriatedAppellation: Likely named Hevy due his heavy personality, which reflected in his preference for heavy weapons like the [[MoreDakka Z-7 Rotary Cannon]].
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: At the begining of "Rookies", he was the most eager of the squad to be on the front lines. His wish was granted, when the frontlines came to the outpost they were defending, [[spoiler: and he died in the ensuing fight]].
* BloodKnight: Of all the members of Domino Squad, he's the most eager to see real action and is also the most aggressive member of the group.
* ConscienceMakesYouGoBack: In "Clone Cadets".
* DeadpanSnarker
* GatlingGood[=/=]MoreDakka: The Z-6 Rotary Cannon is his WeaponOfChoice.
* FamousLastWords: (In response to a Battle Droid vocally wondering if they take prisoners) "I... don't."
* HeroicSacrifice: Dies destroying the Rishi outpost, which alerts the Republic Fleet that the area is under attack by the Separatists.
* HotBlooded: Especially in "Clone Cadets".
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold
* KilledOffForReal: Sets off an explosion to take out an outpost to alert the Republic fleet about a Separatist Attack.
* LeeroyJenkins: He was like this at the beginning of "Clone Cadets", often breaking formation with his squad during the tests. It was breaking away from this behavior that allowed him and Domino Squad to finally pass the graduation exam.
* NoBodyLeftBehind: Considering that he was completely enveloped in a fiery explosion, this seems to be the case.
* LastStand: Has one against the droids that assault the Rishi outpost before dying.
* NewMeat: Started out as one along with the rest of Domino Squad. And unfortunately for him, he never lived to see the remainder of Domino Squad [[TookALevelInBadass take several levels in badass]]. Good thing he took his own before the end.
* SarcasmMode: Sometimes entered this. In particular:
--> '''Hevy''': Hmm. What do you know? ''All clear''. Just like the last fifteen times I checked.
** And also...
-->"Ooh! Meteror shower."
* WeaponOfChoice: The Z-6 Rotary Cannon seems to be this for him.

!! Droidbait (CT-00-2010)
[[quoteright:250:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/droidbait_689.jpg]]

Another member of the Domino Squad.

* EmbarrassingNickname: The others started to call him Droidbait, because he was always the first to fail during Domino Squads training sessions.
* KilledOffForReal: The first of the Domino Squad, who get's killed by the Commando Droids (along with another trooper) that attacked the Rishi moon Outpost.
* LeeroyJenkins: Like Hevy, he tended to run off on his own during training, but unlike Hevy, he either lacked the skill to back it up, or he simply had really bad luck.
* TheLoad: As noted above, usually he was the first to get "killed" during battle simulations, which greatly annoyed the others.
* RedShirt[=/=]SacrificialLamb[=/=]WeHardlyKnewYe
** However, he somewhat upgraded to MauveShirt when he got a little more development in the Season 3 prequel episode "Clone Cadets".
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Cutup.
* TookALevelInBadass: During the Squads repeat test, he used his "skill" to be the first targeted by the droids, to draw the fire of the guns on the Citadel during the Citadel Challenge, allowing the others to take them all out, and use them to their advantage.

!! Cutup (CT-4040)
[[quoteright:288:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/cutup_424.jpg]]

The fifth member of the Domino Squad.

* AppropriatedAppellation: He chose the name "Cutup", after Bric called him with the adjective.
* CruelAndUnusualDeath: Gets devoured by a giant eel!
* DeadpanSnarker: He was cracking rather dry jokes constantly and didn't take his superiors seriously. This is how he earned his name.
* DidYouJustFlipOffCthulhu: His attitude towards [[DrillSergeantNasty Bric]].
* DroppedABridgeOnHim: Gets eaten by a Rishi eel shortly after they just evaded the droids.
* SacrificialLamb: The second one after Droidbait to be abruptly killed off in an unspectacular fashion.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Droidbait.
* WeHardlyKnewYe

!! Commander Bly (CC-5052)
[[quoteright:226:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Bly-001_1635.JPG]]

Commander of the 327th Star Corps and second-in-command to Jedi General Secura.

* CaptainSmoothAndSergeantRough: Has this dynamic with Rex in the one episode they share.
* CommandingCoolness
* ManInAKilt
* NumberTwo: To Aayla Secura.
* SatelliteCharacter: He has next to no characterisation besides being Aayla Secura's NumberTwo.

!! Commander Wolffe (CC-3636)
[[quoteright:239:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Commander-Wolffe-001_3677.png]]

Commander of the 104th Battalion's Wolfpack and second-in-command to Jedi General Plo Koon.

* AnimalMotifs: Wolf. Even his squad is called "Wolfpack".
* AuthorAppeal: Dave Filoni is a big fan of wolves.
* CommandingCoolness
* EyeScream: He lost an eye to Asajj Ventress between his first and second appearances on the show, in one of the tie-in comics.
** ElectronicEyes: [[ContinuityNod He got a cybernetic replacement.]]
* JetPack
* ManInAKilt
* NumberTwo: To Plo Koon.

!! Commander Thorn
[[quoteright:244:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Thorn-001_3631.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:244:"FOR THE REPUBLIC!"]]

A commander of the Coruscant Guard assigned for security on Scipio during Rush Clovis's rise to power in the Banking Clan.

* BadassNormal: He actually managed to put up a good fight and last long enough before the initial Separatist invasion force on Scipio overwhelmed him.
* BattleCry: "FOR THE REPUBLIC!"
* CoolHelmet: Deserves special mention since its got a design on its sides resembling the wings on {{Thor}}’s helmet.
* CommandingCoolness
* DyingMomentOfAwesome
* GatlingGood[=/=]MoreDakka: Shown wielding a Z-7 Rotary Cannon.
* ICallItVera: His cannon is nicknamed "Hammer".
* LastStand
* MeaningfulName: See ShoutOut.
* RedShirt: He dies at the beginning of the Separatist invasion of Scipio. Granted, he lasts notably longer than the other RedShirts accompanying him. Being part of the Coruscant Guard (who normally wear red) may be a LampshadeHanging.
* ShoutOut: WordOfGod has admitted that Thorn is their way of congratulating JossWhedon for his success on ''Film/TheAvengers''. When one removes the "n" at the end of his name, you have {{Thor}}, and his Z-6 Rotary Cannon is nicknamed "Hammer". And if you look closely at his helmet, the sides have a design that look an awful lot like the wings on Thor's helmet.

!! Captain Gregor (CC-5576-39)
[[quoteright:230:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Gregor-001_3542.jpg]]

A clone commando who went missing during the Battle of Sarrish, suffered amnesia and found himself working in a low-wage diner on the desolate world of Abafar before the D-Squad comes to the planet by accident.

* AmnesiacDissonance: Initially, before Gascon and the droids make him remember his past.
* {{Badass}}: In his debut appearance, he fights an entire platoon of droids, including Super Battle Droids and ray-shielded Droidekas, in a shuttleport full of ExplodingBarrels and ''maintains the upper hand''.
* BeardOfSorrow: While he had amnesia and was working as a dishwasher at the diner. After Gascon convinced him that he was a soldier, he shaved it off.
* BolivianArmyEnding: Faces down ever-increasing numbers of battle droids with nothing but his rifle, culminating in him setting off an explosion which takes out the entire shuttleport. His fate is left ambiguous.
* CentipedesDilemma: While he had doubts about himself, he was unable to even take his blaster back from his master. Once he stopped doubting himself, he instantly returned to being the OneManArmy he really was.
* ContinuityNod: A visual example. Gregor's street clothes were explicitly meant to have a "classic 70s Star Wars" feel to them.
* CoolHelmet: A Clone Commando helmet that has a bunch of tally marks on it, presumably him keeping track of his kills.
* DyingMomentOfAwesome: Assuming he did die.
* ExpositoryHairstyleChange: After Gascon convinced him that he's a soldier, he [[ImportantHaircut cut his hair shorter and shaved off his beard]]. He said he did it because he thought that looking like a soldier might help bring back his memories.
* {{Foil}}: To Cut Lawquane. They both lost their squads in a devastating battle. While Cut left the army out of his own will and would like nothing more than to forget the horrors he saw, Gregor went missing and lost his memories. Also when they were confronted by their earlier lifes, Cut declared that he'd only ever fight again for his family. Gregor on the other hand JumpedAtTheCall and did everything in his power to assure the success of Gascon's mission.
* IdentityAmnesia: When Gascon first met him, he was timid, shy and uncertain. After he got his gear, and some of his memories back, his true personality turned out to be a that of self-confident, selfless soldier.
* ItHasBeenAnHonor: Said this to Gascon and thanked him for reminding him who he really was.
* LastStand
* NeverFoundTheBody: He went missing in action after one of the most devastating battles of the war. Happened again after he helped Gascon and the droids. It's currently unknown whether he survived the battle against the droid garrison or not.
* NonActionGuy: Before getting his memories back, he couldn't even grab his weapon from the overweight diner owner that took him in.
* OneManArmy: Is shown holding his ground against a droid force, including destroyer droids and super battle droids, single-handedly while R2-D2's infiltration team [[WeNeedADistraction uses his distraction to move in]].
* ScannableMan: All clones have this, apparently, but it's only been shown being used on Gregor. It's invisible unless scanned, and allows R2 to pull up his entire service record.
* SoleSurvivor: Heavily implied that his whole squad was killed in the battle he lost his memory.
* TookALevelInBadass: Before regaining his memories, he was unable to take his blaster back from his master. A few minutes later he takes on a garrison worth of droids, and effortlessly holds them up long enough for Gascon and the droids to escape.
* TraumaInducedAmnesia: Implied to have been the cause due to his being a survivor of a devastating loss.
* WeNeedADistraction: See above.
* WholeCostumeReference: Visually, he seems to take a few cues from the boys of [[VideoGame/StarWarsRepublicCommando Delta Squad]], particularly Scorch.

!! Commander Fox

Commander of the Coruscant Guard.

* AnimalThemeNaming
* BadassBoast: "When you will scum learn? No one gets away from Commander Fox in the end!"
* BadassNormal
* TheCaptain: Of the Coruscant Guard and later the Clone Shock Troopers.
* CommandingCoolness
* GunsAkimbo: Much like Captain Rex.
* ManInAKilt

!! Sergeant Slick

A disillusioned clone sergeant who betrayed the Republic during the Battle of Christophsis.

* EvilRedhead: [[WhatCouldHaveBeen He was originally planned to have red hair]], but the production team decided not to go with it and stick with the typical natural black hair because it would have been a very obvious indicator of his status as a traitor.
* FaceHeelTurn: One of the first and few instances of a Clone traitor.
* AFatherToHisMen: Despite his actions and even if he may been trying to cover his ass during questioning, he does seem to genuinely care for the men in his squad.
* TheMole: He was hired by the Separatists to sabotage the Republic during the Battle of Christophsis.
* TheUnfettered: Nothing was beyond him in trying to liberate his brothers, even sacrificing some of their lives.
* VillainOfTheWeek
* WellIntentionedExtremist: The reason he betrayed the Republic was because he felt they were enslaving the Clones. However, he was willing to put the lives of his own brothers at risk to make their freedom happen.
* WhatMeasureIsAMook: One of the main reasons behind his betrayal.

!! Dogma

A fanatically loyal rookie trooper assigned to the 501st Legion starting with the Battle of Umbara.

* AppropriatedAppellation[=/=]MeaningfulName: He's dead-set on following orders without question.
* [[spoiler: TheDogBitesBack: As Krell's actions became nastier and nastier, Dogma remained to loyal him, even after he tricked the troops of the 501st and the 212th into killing each other. However, after Krell explained his plans to Rex and the others, Dogma grabbed Fives' pistol and killed the traitorous Jedi.]]
* [[spoiler: TheDragon: He was unwittingly one for Krell in the Umbara arc.]]
* FacialMarkings
* HeelRealization: [[spoiler: He's genuinely crushed when he realizes that his faith in Krell was horribly misplaced.]]
* LawfulStupid: He maintains his stubborn belief in Krell's leadership, even when [[spoiler: it's clear that Krell is a traitor]]. It takes [[spoiler: Krell himself confessing to treason]] to break Dogma of his blind loyalty.
* MeaningfulName: A man who adheres strictly to military protocol is called "Dogma".
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: His personality is similar to Echo's, but with his attitude towards hierarchy and orders turned UpToEleven.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Tup.
* YesMan: He was ready to follow Krell's every order, without question, including the execution of Fives and Jesse. [[spoiler: Even when Krell proved to be a traitor, he defended the General.]]

!! Tup

Another rookie trooper interested in what the veterans have to say assigned to the 501st starting with the Battle of Umbara.

* BoomHeadshot:
** In "Carnage of Krell", he shot [[spoiler: Krell]] in the head with a stun-blast at point-blank range.
** In the Order 66 arc, he shot Jedi Master Tiplar in the head.
* BringIt: During the battle against [[spoiler: General Krell]], he stood next to a {{Combat tentacle|s}}d ManEatingPlant, and lured [[spoiler: Krell]] towards it by shouting "Hey, ugly! Come and get me!" at him. [[spoiler: Krell charged at Tup, and promptly stepped on one of the creature's tentacles, which immediately caught him.]]
* [[spoiler: DyingAsYourself]]
* FacialMarkings: A teardrop tattoo.
* [[spoiler:KilledOffForReal: Shortly after Fives and the droid removed his chip, he died.]]
* MyGodWhatHaveIDone: After killing the Jedi, during his mentally clear phases.
* PhlebotinumBreakdown: Thanks to a faulty inhibitor chip, he executes Order 66 a bit too soon.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Dogma.
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: When ordered to execute Fives and Jesse, Tup, along with the rest of the firing squad, chooses not to kill them, opting to be good over lawful.

!! Hardcase

A veteran, but somewhat mentally unhinged 501st trooper with a love for battle.

* AmbiguousDisorder: According to him, he thinks the leak he had in his growth acceleration chamber made him a bit unstable.
* AscendedExtra: He first appeared in the Season 2 episode, "The Deserter" but with a minor role and little characterization. It wasn't until Season 4's Umbara arc that he had a major role and got his BloodKnight tendencies.
* BaldOfAwesome
* BloodKnight: He's rather trigger-happy, and others constantly lampshade that he tends to "dive in head first" into the action.
* CharacterizationMarchesOn: In his debut appearance in "The Deserter", he had little characterization and seemed to be levelheaded. It wasn't until Season 4's Umbara arc that he became the somewhat unhinged BloodKnight we now know him as.
* FacialMarkings: Has several tattoos on his face.
* FallingIntoTheCockpit: In accordance with Rex's and Fives' plans he piloted an Umbaran starfighter during the battle of Umbara. He has no pilot-training, and the starfighters are controlled by motion capture, which is above the galactic standard, but despite some initial difficulties, he figured out the controls rather quickly.
* [[spoiler: FamousLastWords: "Live to fight another day, boys! ... Live to fight another day..."]]
* GatlingGood: Used a Z-6 rotary blaster cannon during the battle of Umbara.
* [[spoiler: HeroicSacrifice: When a ray shield prevented him, Fives, and Jesse from blowing up the main reactor of a Separatist supply ships main reactor by firing on it, he smashed the damaged plasma-canon of his hijacked Umbaran fighter into it blowing it up, and saving the 501st from being exposed to the rockets launched from it.]]
* LeeroyJenkins: As described in BloodKnight, he's known to "dive in headfirst". The only reason this doesn't cause problems for his squad is that he has his fellow squadmates to restrain him ahead of time and he seems to know his limits.
* [[spoiler: MauveShirt: He appeared in the Season 2 episode "The Deserter", but didn't have much of an actual role. He returned in the Umbara-arc of Season 4, and became an important character for the first three-episodes, before giving his life for the others.]]
* [[spoiler: NoBodyLeftBehind: He was in the middle of an explosion that blew up the Separatist supply ship.]]
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: He wasn't always, but he became one for Hevy during the Umbara arc, right down to [[GatlingGood the Z-6 rotary cannon]] as his WeaponOfChoice (although he's also seen using a DC-15a carbine sometimes), his BloodKnight tendencies (albeit a bit more mentally unhinged while still being sane), and [[spoiler: [[HeroicSacrifice sacrificing himself]] in an explosion to complete his mission.]]

!! Jesse (CT-5597)

Another veteran 501st trooper with a sense of humor.

* BaldOfAwesome
* DeadpanSnarker: Shows up plenty of times throughout the Umbara arc.
* FacialMarkings: He's got a Republic cog symbol tattooed on half his face. He also has said on his helmet.
* SarcasticClapping: He does this after General Krell orders the 501st to lock down all the Umbaran starfighters just after Hardcase properly learned how to control them.
--> '''Jesse:''' I thought the plan was to blow up the supply ship, not our own hangar.
* ScrewTheRulesImDoingWhatsRight: He joins Fives and Hardcase for the attack on the Separatist supply ship for the same reasons as the former (whereas Hardcase is just a [[BloodKnight thrill-seeker]]), although he admits that he's only willing to fly an unfamiliar starfighter and fly into a space battle is because he doesn't like General Krell.
--> '''Jesse:''' You know, I'm only doing this because I don't like Krell.
--> '''Fives:''' That's reason enough.

!! Kix

One of the main medical officers of the 501st Legion.

* {{Adorkable}}: His "ordering" Rex to take some rest to recover from his injury is endearingly awkward.
* BaldOfAwesome
* CombatMedic: His main role in the 501st.
* FacialMarkings: Has several tattoos on his head, including the phrase "A good droid is a dead one" in Aurebesh.
* AFatherToHisMen: As the main medical officer of the 501st Legion, the health and well-being of the men come first to the point that he can even override his CO's authority if necessary (unless it's [[{{Jerkass}} General]] [[TheNeidermeyer Krell]] he's serving under, in which case, he's forced to put up with his reckless strategies like all the other clones).
* ToBeLawfulOrGood: Like Tup, he was part of the firing squad during Jesse and Fives' execution, and like him and the rest of the squad, chose not to kill them.

!! Waxer and Boil

Two experienced troopers from the 212th Battalion who are seen together most of the time.

* BadassMustache: Boil sports a mustache that frames his mouth and chin, and Commander Cody considered him to be one of the two best soldiers in the 212th.
* BaldOfAwesome: Waxer shaves his head bald.
* CanonImmigrant: Waxer first appeared in the "Slaves of the Republic" tie-in comicbook series, though [[EarlyBirdCameo it was only a very small role]]. He appeared in the show in "Innocents of Ryloth" for the first time.
* [[spoiler: KilledOffForReal: Waxer got killed on Umbara, when the traitorous Krell tricked the batallions of the 501st and the 212th into fighting each other.]]
* [[spoiler: MauveShirt: Waxer got killed in his third appearance.]]
* [[spoiler: {{Rewrite}}: The "Slaves of the Republic" storyline was adapted into a trilogy of episodes. However, Waxer, who first appeared in the first issue of the comicbook-series got killed during the Battle of Umbara, which preceded the episode adaptations. This lead to Boil filling in Waxer's small role.]]
* SensitiveGuyAndManlyMan: In their debut episode, Waxer was constantly side-tracked by his worry for Numa, making him the sensitive guy, which annoyed Boil, who was more interested in completing their mission and reporting back in time. However by the end of the episode, Boil too grew really attached to the little girl.
* [[spoiler: SingleTear: Waxer shed one as he died. Not because he was dying, but because he was tricked into killing his own brothers, and got wounded by one of them.]]
* ThoseTwoGuys: In their first two appearances.
* TookALevelInKindness: Boil at the beginning of their debut episode was rather dismissive of the Twi'lek civilians, calling them "[[FantasticSlur tail-heads]]", and even claimed that if the clone army is forced to save them, they should at least get out their way. By the end of the episode he grew very attached to Numa, the little Twi'lek orphan they found, and by their next appearance he had the girl's face painted on his helmet.

!! Delta Squad

An elite squad of clone commandos. Its members are Boss, Sev, Scorch and Fixer.

* TheCameo: They were the clone squad, that retrieved the bodies of Jedi Master Halsey and his Padawan Knox, and brought them back to the Jedi Temple.
* {{Canon Immigrant}}s: They're originally the main characters of the ''VideoGame/StarWarsRepublicCommando'' video game. They appeared in "Witches of the Mist", integrating them into the series canon.
* ContinuityNod: Their appearance is a nod that acknowledges the game's existence.
* CoolHelmet: They've all have Clone Commando helmets.
* EliteArmy: They're an elite commando trained to deal with special missions.

Anakin Skywalker's second-in-command of his fleet and the admiral of the Republic cruiser ''Resolute''.

* AscendedExtra: He appeared in ''ANewHope'' in the scene where Tarkin has a meeting with the admirals on the Death Star (he's the one in a white uniform), but had no spoken line. During Seasons 1 and 2 he was a major supporting character.
* BadassMustache
* DeadpanSnarker
* DemotedToExtra: In Seasons 3 to 5, he had a total of five cameos, Two each in Seasons 3-4, and one in Season 5.
* HiddenHeartOfGold: He rarely shows it, but he does care for Anakin and his friends. In ''CloneWarsGambit: Stealth'', he gave a strict yet warm speech when Obi-Wan wanted to get back to duty while seriously injured.
* OfficerAndAGentleman
* ReasonableAuthorityFigure: This guy deserves a medal for just having to work with Anakin and Ahsoka.
* TheStoic: He's able to handle Anakin and Ahsoka without losing his cool.
* YouHaveGotToBeKiddingMe: His reaction to Anakin's idea of using walkers to board Cad Bane's frigate.

!! Admiral Shoan Kilian
--> Voiced by: Julian Holloway

A fleet officer serving under Mace Windu and admiral of the Republic cruiser ''Endurance''.

* BadassBeard
* BadassGrandpa
* BaldOfAwesome
* CoolOldGuy
* DistressedDude: He was captured by Boba Fett's and Aurra Sing's gang of {{Bounty Hunter}}s, along with two clone officers. They were meant to be used as bait for Windu, but in the end Ahsoka had to rescue them.
* AFatherToHisMen
* GoingDownWithTheShip: After Boba sabotaged the reactor of his cruiser, he insisted on staying to attempt a crash-landing on a nearby planet.
* NervesOfSteel: As the ''Endurance'' was falling apart around them, he remained totally calm, organized the evacuation, decided to [[GoingDownWithTheShip go down with the ship]], and ''put Mace Windu in his place'' when the Jedi tried to get him to leave as well.

Second-in-command to Jedi Master Even Piell. He also has connections to Chancellor Palpatine.

* [[AllThereInTheManual All There in the Credits]]: In the closing credits of "Point of No Return" it's revealed that he's been promoted to the rank of Admiral since his last appearance.
* AmbiguouslyEvil: Presented as such in-series. As anyone familiar with [[Film/ANewHope the movies]] knows, he simply hasn't gotten the chance to be unambiguous.
* TheCameo: He had one in "Point of No Return".
* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike
* FaceFramedInShadow: During the Citadel story arc his face had a tendency to have rather sinister lighting.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: He and Anakin get along in the Citdadel trilogy, foreshadowing their later [[Film/ANewHope working relationship]].
* IcyBlueEyes
* InspectorJavert: Subverted in the season 5 finale arc, he did everything in his power to make sure Ahsoka is convicted of her supposed crimes, despite some obvious and suspicious coincidences pointing to a {{Frameup}}. According to WordOfGod, this was because he didn't actually care about who was the perpetrator, he only wanted to convict a Jedi to strengten his position and weaken the Order's.
* {{Jerkass}}: The show doesn't even attempt to hide the fact Captain Tarkin isn't a pleasant character, opting instead to point out the similarities between himself and Anakin.
** JerkassHasAPoint: Sometimes, and acknowledged in-universe by Anakin.
* KnightTemplar
* TheMeanBrit: He isn't ''British'', [[AliensOfLondon per se]], but he's certainly mean.
* NoMacGuffinNoWinner: Almost became a victim of this.
* NotSoDifferent: To Anakin, who realized this midway through the Citadel trilogy.
* ScrewTheRulesIHaveConnections: Sort of. His constant complaining to his superior officer's face puts him into this trope. It's also hinted that he got his position from his connection with Palpatine, as well.
* TheUnfettered: And he criticises the Jedi for being TheFettered in a time of war.
* UngratefulBastard: Ahsoka saved his life back when he was first introduced in season 3. One would think this would earn her at least a little consideration. One would be wrong. Though not without good reason, he cuts her no slack when it appears as if she murdered a suspect, and even extends this to suspicion of her attempting to silence potential witnesses. He was outright gleeful when he asked the Court to sentence Ahsoka to death.
* VillainousCheekbones[=/=]VillainousWidowsPeak: Played with in that he's working for the good guys, but is still a ruthless {{Jerkass}}.

!! Master Chief[=/=]Sergeant Bric
[[quoteright:230:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Bric-001_9633.jpg]]
--> Voice by: Larry Brandenburg

A Siniteen BountyHunter hired as a drill sergeant for clone cadets in-training on Kamino. Unlike his Arcona co-worker, El-Les, he sees it only as a job.

* {{Badass}}: Mostly an informed trait, but given that the Republic chose him as a replacement drill officer for Jango Fett, it's safe to assume he's very badass.
* BadassNormal: Has no Force-powers.
* BountyHunter: Hiss original profession, he made a contract with the Republic, to take over the deceased Jango Fett's postion as a drill officer of the clone cadets, trained on Kamino.
* CaptainSmoothAndSergeantRough: Has this dynamic with El-Les, although they're the same rank.
* DrillSergeantNasty
* {{Jerkass}}: He's usually downright nasty.
* JerkassHasAPoint: During Domino Squad's practice test, Shaak Ti agreed with him on the Dominos' not being ready, and she also agreed with his sink or swim method below, claiming that the enemy won't play fair either.
* MyBrainIsBig: Subverted. He's rather sly, but he's not even hinted to possess SuperIntelligence.
* RubberForeheadAlien: He's a Siniteen.
* OnlyInItForTheMoney: He claimed he didn't care about the clones, just about getting paid for his trouble.
* SinkOrSwimMentor: Before Domino squad's second final exam started, he secretly took out the ascension cables from their equipment, which was needed to scale the tower. He claimed he did it, because if the Dominos really were the best as El-les believed, they'll find a way to pass regardless of the circumstances.

!! Colonel Meebur Gascon
[[quoteright:198:http://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/Colonel-Gascon-001_1383.jpg]]
--> Voiced by: Stephen Stanton

A diminutive and egotistical Zilkin that served as a strategist since the First Battle of Geonosis. When he finally gets the opportunity for in-field experience, his self-esteem issues begin to surface.

* ArmChairMilitary: Deconstructed. He's a highly accomplished strategist and has earned even Mace Windu's respect, yet he has serious self-esteem issues because--as WAC never fails to remind him--he's a mere "map-reader".
* BeCarefulWhatYouWishFor: Once their mission is a success, he praises D-Squad and says he would be happy to work with them again. WAC happily informs him that they are now permanently assigned together. He is less than thrilled.
* BreakTheHaughty: His mission with D-Squad becomes a series of these moments for him.
* ButtMonkey
* CharacterDevelopment: The D-Squad story-arc as a whole shows him going from a {{Jerkass}} to a honorable leader.
* ColonelBadass: A subversion. He's very proud of his rank, but actually isn't all that badass himself.
* TheComplainerIsAlwaysWrong: He spends most of his screen-time complaining about their circumstances, while the droids solve the problem almost instantly. The most egregious instance is when they were stuck in the Void desert; Gascon and WAC spend hours sitting on the same place in total despair, while R2 and the other droids seemingly picked a random direction and never looked back. By chance, Gascon and WAC happen upon a group of native animals that know where to find water in the desert, which happens to be near a settlement. When they reach it, R2 and the others have already arrived.
* CowardlyLion: He cowers and loses his cool every time he's in danger, but never gives up on the mission.
* CrouchingMoronHiddenBadass: For all his cowardice, he actually turns out to be a very decent tactician.
* AFatherToHisMen: By the [[CharacterDevelopment end of the storyarc]].
* GloryHound[=/=]GlorySeeker: Slides back and forth between the two depending on the time and episode.
* {{Hypocrite}}: He chews out Gregor's master for treating Gregor as a slave right after he explained in detail how the Republic treats an entire army of clones as slaves, created for the sole purpose of killing and dying to protect it.
* InferioritySuperiorityComplex: His ego and arrogance all come from a crippling lack of self-esteem. [[TheNapoleon Specifically because of his size.]]
* IJustWantToBeBadass: Due to his size, he could never be a frontline soldier, which seems to be his dream given how enthusiastic he is to finally have a chance to prove himself to be more than a "map-reader".
* IWillOnlySlowYouDown: Tries to invoke this in ''Missing In Action'', after an explosion knocks him and Beezee down, telling [=WAC=]-47 to save himself, but ultimately makes it back to the shuttle while [[spoiler: Gregor pulls of his HeroicSacrifice]].
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: After some CharacterDevelopment.
* JustAMachine: He has a low opinion on droids, for their supposed inflexibility in solving problems, despite the D-Squad continually proving him wrong.
* LargeHam
* MixAndMatchCritters: He's a [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Zilkin Zilkin]], a species that somewhat resembles a cross between a slug and a frog.
* TheNapoleon: Reminding him of his size is not a good idea.
* TheNicknamer: Called [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/WAC-47 WAC]] "Cyclops", [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/U9-C4 C4]] "Flattop" and [[http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/QT-KT QT]] "Pinkie". However he agreed to stop it after WAC "asked" him to.
* NoOneGetsLeftBehind: He acquires his mentality in the end.
* NotSoDifferent: WAC is quick to point out that all of Gascon's arguments against droids ultimately only show that his "programming" is pretty much the same as theirs.
* RunningGag:
** Through out "Secret Weapons" WAC continually -and on purpose- called him "Corporal" instead of "Colonel", which he immediately and vehemently corrected.
** Another added later in the same episode. After explaining to the droids, that he's not a warrior, but a strategist, WAC started to demean him as "''just'' a map-reader" OncePerEpisode.
* RousingSpeech: Delivers a pretty epic one to his squad when [[spoiler: BZ sacrifices himself.]]
* SanitySlippage: Goes through plenty of this while he's lost in [[NothingIsScarier the Void]] on Abafar. Being the token organic in a squad of droids will do that to you.
* SmallNameBigEgo: "[[{{Pun}} Small]]" in every sense.
* TheStrategist

!! Doctor Nala Se
--> Voiced by Gwendoline Yeo

This Kaminoan was one of the lead scientists on the cloning program. And she knows a lot more than she lets on.

* AmbiguouslyEvil: She's a very unpleasant person, is willing to keep secrets from the Jedi and is in cahoots with the Sith, yes, but how much she knows about the Sith plot remains ambiguous. Word of Filoni states that the Kaminoans only think they're doing this from a business standpoint since cloning is their primary trade.
* AscendedExtra: She played a small role in "Shadow of Malevolence" near the beginning of the series before playing a major role in the Protocol 66 arc near the end of the series.
* BlackEyesOfEvil: Although all Kaminoans have black sclerae.
* BitchInSheepsClothing: She seemed unusually caring for a Kaminoan in her first appearance, but she went to a lot of nasty efforts to make sure that the Jedi didn't learn anything about what the inhibitor chips were for.
* DoctorJerk
* HollywoodAtheist: She states she's not very fond of the Jedi's spiritualism.
* KarmaHoudini: She was responsible for the programming of Order 66 [[spoiler: and the deaths of both Tup and Fives]], and she gets off completely scott-free, and the [[DownerEnding ending scenes]] of "Orders" really hammers it in. Unlike Palpatine, Dooku and Tarkin, we don't have any prior knowledge of her getting any eventual comeuppance.
* LackOfEmpathy: This seems to be a common trait with Kaminoans, but she treats living beings as merchandise.
* [[ManipulativeBastard Manipulative Bitch]]
* LeanAndMean
* NoodlePeople: It comes with being a Kaminoan.
* TookALevelInJerkass: In her first few appearances, she seemed pretty nice. Then in the Order 66 arc, she's willing to euthanize Tup and drug Fives to make sure knowledge of Order 66 doesn't reach the Jedi, and she seems to have deeper connections with the Sith than the other Kaminoans. Considering that she was one of the lead engineers of the clone army, [[BitchInSheepsClothing she may have always been a jerk]].
* WhatMeasureIsAMook: She sees every cloned creature as a product of the Kaminoan government, and thinks they can do whatever they please with them.

[[caption-width-right:244:"In my book, experience outranks everything."]]

Second-in-command to Jedi General Skywalker and captain of the 501st Legion.

* {{Badass}}
* BaldOfAwesome: He seems to dye his hair blond, making his shorter hairdo look "bald." He's no less awesome, however.
* BoomHeadshot: Used it in "Rookies" against a disguised Commando droid.
* TheCaptain
* TheGoodCaptain
* ManInAKilt
* NumberTwo: To Anakin.

-->"Ooh! Meteror shower."

* RedShirt[=/=]SacrificialLamb[=/=]WeHardlyKnewYe
** However, he somewhat upgraded to MauveShirt when he got a little more development in the Season 3 prequel episode "Clone Cadets".
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Cutup.

* ThoseTwoGuys: With Droidbait.

* BattleCry: "FOR THE REPUBLIC!"
* CoolHelmet: Deserves special mention since its got a design on its sides resembling the wings on {{Thor}}’s helmet.
* CommandingCoolness
* DyingMomentOfAwesome
* GatlingGood[=/=]MoreDakka: Shown wielding a Z-7 Rotary Cannon.
* ICallItVera: His cannon is nicknamed "Hammer".
* LastStand
* MeaningfulName: See ShoutOut.

* LastStand
* WeNeedADistraction: See above.
* WholeCostumeReference: Visually, he seems to take a few cues from the boys of [[VideoGame/StarWarsRepublicCommando Delta Squad]], particularly Scorch.

!! Commander Fox

Commander of the Coruscant Guard.

* AnimalThemeNaming
* BadassBoast: "When you will scum learn? No one gets away from Commander Fox in the end!"
* BadassNormal
* TheCaptain: Of the Coruscant Guard and later the Clone Shock Troopers.
* CommandingCoolness
* GunsAkimbo: Much like Captain Rex.
* ManInAKilt

* VillainOfTheWeek

* AppropriatedAppellation[=/=]MeaningfulName: He's dead-set on following orders without question.

* [[spoiler: TheDragon: He was unwittingly one for Krell in the Umbara arc.]]
* FacialMarkings
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Tup.

* BoomHeadshot:
* [[spoiler: DyingAsYourself]]
* FacialMarkings: A teardrop tattoo.
* ThoseTwoGuys: With Dogma.

* BaldOfAwesome

* BaldOfAwesome
--> '''Fives:''' That's reason enough.

!! Kix

One of the main medical officers of the 501st Legion.

* {{Adorkable}}: His "ordering" Rex to take some rest to recover from his injury is endearingly awkward.
* BaldOfAwesome

* BadassMustache
* DeadpanSnarker
* OfficerAndAGentleman

A fleet officer serving under Mace Windu and admiral of the Republic cruiser ''Endurance''.

* BadassBeard
* BadassGrandpa
* BaldOfAwesome
* CoolOldGuy
* DistressedDude: He was captured by Boba Fett's and Aurra Sing's gang of {{Bounty Hunter}}s, along with two clone officers. They were meant to be used as bait for Windu, but in the end Ahsoka had to rescue them.
* AFatherToHisMen

* ComplainingAboutRescuesTheyDontLike
* FaceFramedInShadow: During the Citadel story arc his face had a tendency to have rather sinister lighting.
* {{Foreshadowing}}: He and Anakin get along in the Citdadel trilogy, foreshadowing their later [[Film/ANewHope working relationship]].
* IcyBlueEyes
* KnightTemplar

--> Voice by: Larry Brandenburg

* BadassNormal: Has no Force-powers.
* DrillSergeantNasty
* {{Jerkass}}: He's usually downright nasty.
* RubberForeheadAlien: He's a Siniteen.

--> Voiced by: Stephen Stanton

* ButtMonkey
* JerkWithAHeartOfGold: After some CharacterDevelopment.
* JustAMachine: He has a low opinion on droids, for their supposed inflexibility in solving problems, despite the D-Squad continually proving him wrong.
* LargeHam
