Even if Maka isn't as physically powerful as Kid or Star, it's repeatedly noted by other characters that Maka's Soul Perception abilities and usage of the Anti-Demon wavelength are pretty much extraordinary, [[spoiler:to the point that she can cancel out the onset of Madness even when facing Asura himself head-on]]. Maka's peers are far more perceptive of her talents than she herself is, with Maka constantly doubting herself while those around her recognize her as an [[YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre exceptional meister in her own right]].

They're both insecure kids who have a strained relationship with their family and had major expectations placed on them from childhood (Maka becoming a meister like her mother; Soul becoming a musician like his brother). * MoralityPet: Downplayed. Black☆Star is by no means a bad person, but he tends to have some [[JerkWithAHeartOfGold rough edges]] when interacting with people most of the time. With Tsubaki, however, Black☆Star is consistently supportive and caring towards her. Goes to show that the guy does have a soft side underneath it all.
