* AlwaysInClassOne: The main cast is all in Class 1-A, with Class 1-B being more or less a HufflepuffHouse compared to them. They're this in-universe too, as they get much more media attention than Class 1-B as a result of their experiences, backgrounds, and powers.
* BadassAdorable: All of them are cute teenagers who have Quirks. Special mention goes to Midoriya, Uraraka, Tsuyu and Yaoyorozu.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Individual students tend to receive extra focus during certain arcs either due to focusing specifically on them or because of circumstances where they would be most needed. The most prominent of these students being Tokoyami and Yaoyorozu. The downside is that some of the main cast tends to be DemotedToExtra to compensate.
* FamedInStory: After the USJ Arc, the media attention the class gets causes them to overshadow everyone else at the U.A. Sports Festival. This grows to even further extremes following the line of crises that lead all the way up to the Provisional Hero License Exam.
* OutOfFocus: Due to the size of Class 1-A, not all the students will get their share of screentime all at once:
** Kouda and Satou were basically background characters up until the Final Exams Arc, which was where their powers were finally properly introduced. Even then, Satou's focus was in the anime. In the manga, he wouldn't receive any focus until the King of Dorms mini-arc.
** Hagakure is probably the biggest example as most just know her as that invisible classmate who hangs out with everyone. It's only until the special moves training for the following Provisional Hero License Exam that she finally gets to show off more of her Quirk rather than just remaining invisible all the time.
* PosterGalleryBedroom: After U.A. becomes a boarding school, the students are given their own rooms to decorate as they please, and almost each room is shown as a tip-off to their personalities.
* TallPoppySyndrome: Starting with the villain attack at USJ and with each successive crisis the class, or members of the class, have endured and overcome. Peers at U.A., particularly amongst the other courses, have clearly grown to resent Class 1-A, believing them to be unrepentant glory hogs.
* TimeToUnlockMoreTruePotential: The entire class does this during the Forest Training Camp Arc, where they undertake exercises to increase the strength of their Quirks.
* TookALevelInBadass: It's noted that surviving the villain attack during the USJ Arc affected the kids, so they're now less hesitant to use their Quirks and more confident in their abilities compared to their peers.
* WackyHomeroom: They're certainly a colorful bunch. They've got the cocky delinquent, the goth, two straight-laced {{Class Representative}}s, a token pervert, the stereotypical boisterous BookDumb students, etc. Not to mention some of them barely look human... and they've all got superpowers. No wonder they all provide the page image.
* WalkingDisasterArea: They started to gain a reputation for this after two direct villain attacks on them (the USJ exercise and the training camp), with the other classes blaming ''them'' for the beefed up security of the school because of it.

A vain, flamboyant and extremely eccentric young man Midoriya first meets during U.A.'s entrance exam. His Quirk, "Navel Laser", allows him to fire powerful laser beams from his belly button. However, continuous use of this Quirk is liable to damage his insides, and he also needs to wear a special support belt at all times to prevent the laser from "leaking out".

* AmbiguouslyGay: Aside from his over the top flamboyance, he tends to ignore Midoriya's personal space at all times, which includes hand-feeding him cheese.
* AsideGlance: Especially in the anime. Whenever he is in a group shot, he tends to look directly at the camera.
* AttentionWhore: After the battle against the League of Villains, he made a big deal about the mystery of his whereabouts during the incident. No one actually seemed to care.
* AwesomeButImpractical: Although flashy and very powerful, his navel laser has several drawbacks, and can hurt his stomach if used continuously for more than a second. [[spoiler:He also needs to wear his belt at all times to prevent it from "leaking" and hurting him as well.]]
* BewareTheSillyOnes: He mostly provides comic relief and his Quirk is very ridiculous looking, but the ability to fire laser beams still makes him pretty powerful. He also has moments showing surprising awareness.
* BigDamnHeroes: After spending most of the Forest Training Camp Arc hiding in fear, he delivers an attack that saves Tokoyami.
* BigEgoHiddenDepths: Behind this silly, vain character, there's an insecure young man who is unsure about his place in the world.
* BishieSparkle: So much that even his beams have those.
* {{Bishonen}}: Parodied. He's actually closer to a caricature of one. His design is purposefully unusual as it makes him much more disturbing when he's not in his over the top persona, best demonstrated by his blank stare as he watches Midoriya sleep through his dorm room window at night.
* BreakingTheFourthWall: {{Downplayed|Trope}}, but Aoyama can often be found staring directly into the camera, especially during [[FunnyBackgroundEvent group shots or montages]].
* ButtMonkey: He is often on the receiving end of painful moments like Mineta and Sero.
* ChestBlaster: Or Navel Blaster in this case. He fires his beam from his belly button. His hero costume incorporates mirrors and lenses that allow him to direct it out of spots on his knees and shoulders as well.

* CowardlyLion: During the Forest Training Camp Arc, he hides in the bushes and is absolutely terrified when he discovers he is mere feet away from the villains' rendezvous point. Still when the villains start to escape with two student hostages, he is able to blast the hostage taker and free at least one student. Considering how outnumbered he was and with two unconscious fellow students, staying quiet was ultimately the better plan.
* TheDandy: Likes bling, trendy fashion and French cuisine. He is foppish and he has exaggerated French speech mannerisms.
* ADayInTheLimelight: As a BreatherEpisode following the long Internship Arc, Chapters 167-168 are mostly dedicated to him putting in an effort to try to befriend Midoriya.
* DemotedToExtra: Despite being playable in the first game of the franchise, Aoyama is not present among the playable cast of ''VideoGame/MyHeroOnesJustice''.
* EverythingsBetterWithSparkles: He has a lot of shiny things in his room, including a disco ball and an ''armor set''.
* FrenchCuisineIsHaughty: He likes to eat by himself instead of joining everybody in the cafeteria, and his meals are as fancy as you'd expect. He also enjoys Pont-l'Évêque cheese slices as snacks.
* GlassCannon: His laser has excellent offensive potential, but he himself isn't very strong.
* GratuitousForeignLanguage: Alternates between using GratuitousEnglish and GratuitousFrench in his dialogue.

* HeroicSacrifice: Attempts to use himself as bait by firing his laser straight up into the sky to draw everyone's attention during the Provisional Hero License Exam Arc so Iida can run away after they're heavily outnumbered. A bubbly and cheerful girl whose Quirk, "Invisibility", renders her entire body permanently invisible. She is usually seen as a set of seemingly floating clothes -- or in the case of her hero costume, just a pair of floating gloves and shoes. Because of this, she often jokes about her condition and is able to get away with states of undress no visible human could dream of trying in public.

* AgonyOfTheFeet: During the heroes vs. villains practice, Todoroki freezes the ground, causing her feet to freeze to the ice because she was barefoot in order to fully use her invisibility.
* BattleStrip: When fully nude, she can make the best use of her Quirk.
* BlindedByTheLight: Able to refract light inside of her and intensify it, making her capable of blinding people. This hints at a general [[LightEmUp light manipulation]] ability, with her invisibility being one of its effects. Also doubles as a VisualPun since she does it in costume: she's ''flashing'' her opponents.

The school uniforms are {{Clark Kent Outfit}}s and her hero costume renders her fully invisible, so whenever she's in casual clothing it becomes apparent that she's no stranger to the MostCommonSuperpower. She also gets a very noticeable bounce in the anime when she shows off her room wearing a casual T-shirt.
* {{Invisibility}}: Her Quirk in a nutshell is 24 hour invisibility. Both of her parents have invisibility Quirks too.
* InvisibleStreaker: Her Quirk doesn't affect her clothing, so she needs to constantly strip off her clothes in order for it to be useful.

* LockedOutOfTheLoop: Due to injuries sustained during the Forest Training Camp Arc, she is one of only three students in Class 1-A who don't know about Kirishima's insane plan to rescue Bakugou, the others being Jirou and Bakugou himself.
* LogicalWeakness: Her Quirk is indeed useful when she's fully naked, but that also means she gets exposed to the elements. Thus, when she confronts Todoroki, his ice power made it impossible for her to walk without freezing her bare feet to the floor. Also, [[SeeTheInvisible if she makes any discernible noise and someone can hear it and/or sense it/has a Quirk to aid their senses]], they can find her even if they can't see her normally.

* TheFriendNobodyLikes: Outside of [[HairTriggerTemper Bakugou]], Mineta is probably the Class 1-A student that gets this the most, mostly due to his perverted personality. He is still good friends with Midoriya and Kaminari, at least.
* HeartIsAnAwesomePower: Throwing sticky balls may seem underwhelming as a superpower, and Mineta himself expresses doubt about its usefulness in combat, but thanks to Midoriya, he realizes that it's very useful for immobilizing enemies. By throwing a large amount of them into the water at USJ, followed by a Smash from Midoriya, a large group of villains ends up stuck together and helpless. Later on, during the final exam, he uses them to trap Midnight and successfully escape from the training grounds with Sero. Finally, his sticky balls adhere to everything except for him. Instead, they repel him with great force, allowing him to use his sticky balls as trampolines, greatly improving his movement.
* HeroicComedicSociopath: His NominalHero status is entirely played for laughs. He's a hero, but he only cares about leering at girls and is overall smug and self serving, never really caring about his classmates' feelings or how his actions may affect them. He's happy to throw them under the bus if it helps him, as evidenced by his "performance" in the U.A. Sports Festival. Were he not played for comedy this would be unsettling.
* HeroicRROD: He can't keep pulling his sticky balls out for too long or they'll start to make his skin bleed.
* HiddenDepths: Believe it or not, Mineta's intelligence is 5/5 (behind only Yaoyorozu) and ranks 9th in his class in terms of grades.
* IJustWantToBeBadass: Overall, this is the goal he is pursuing as a hero (that and feeling up a woman, and as his final exam reveals, the former is almost entirely in service of the latter).
* InformedAttribute: Mineta's official intelligence stat is 5/5. However, he hasn't showcased to be sufficiently smart to justify it. While he isn't stupid and has some moments of BrilliantButLazy, he has been mentally outdone by people with less stat than him, which include ranking 9th in the midterm (below five people with 4/5 and two with 3/5).
* LethalJokeCharacter: His small stature, weak frame, ridiculous power set, and constant whining might make it seem like Mineta's just a useless comic relief character, but many opponents who have underestimated him have found themselves utterly defeated by his clever application of powers, and his surprising craftiness and tenacity when pushed into action. Hell, the fact that he has survived several dangerous situations against overwhelming odds and come out on top is an indicator that he's not as useless as he might initially seem.
* TheLoad: Literally during the U.A. Sports Festival. He glues himself to Yaoyorozu's back and makes her carry him until they reach the finish line, putting him in 18th place behind her.
* LovableSexManiac: He's a massive, open pervert who admits out loud that his biggest regret was not touching Yaoyorozu's boobs and gropes Tsuyu during a hug. Even his plan to get through the Obstacle Race event involves using his sticky balls to cling to Yaoyorozu's back, earning him a severe beating, but allowing him to place in the top 42. All of this is PlayedForLaughs, so he comes across as a mostly harmless annoyance rather than a really dangerous pervert. The "lovable" part is far more debatable since nobody shows a particular liking towards him, both in-universe and meta.
* MeaningfulName: Minoru means "Producing fruit" like his talent and the first part of his surname [[BilingualBonus sounds a lot like the English term "Mini"]] matching his size.
* NoIndoorVoice: He tends to speak his perverted ideas ''out loud''. This trait quickly becomes a HoistByHisOwnPetard, as he'll announce a lecherous plan to peek on or sexually harass girls, with the intended targets standing right there to hear it.
* NonStandardCharacterDesign: Mineta has a more cartoony design than most of his classmates, almost to the point of resembling a character from ''WesternAnimation/FamilyGuy''. He's also the only male student in Class 1-A who does not have a HeroicBuild.
* NominalHero: Mineta's mostly driven by his desire to be seen as cool and get girls, rather than the more altruistic motives that some of his other classmates have.

** Using his sticky balls to stick himself to Yaoyorozu so she'd have to carry him across the finish line. He was beaten by her for it but it did work.
** Coming up with the "tank" idea for the cavalry battle with Shouji and Tsuyu. It was both legal and practical given Shouji being the biggest member in class and himself and Tsuyu being the two smallest. Tsuyu herself even said she'd normally wouldn't work with him but admitted it was a smart plan.
** Lastly his (and Kaminari's) plan to trick their female classmates to wear cheerleader costumes worked.
* ThePeepingTom: He tries to use a peephole to peek in the girls' locker room, and gets [[EyeScream one of Jirou's earphone jacks in his eye]] for his troubles. He attempts it again [[OutdoorBathPeeping in the baths]] during the class trip, with similarly limited success.
* PersonalityPowers: His Quirk can be considered a big accidental innuendo. Thus, it's not surprising that he is a big pervert.

Despite her versatile Quirk and considerable intelligence, she sometimes struggles with low self-esteem due to the high expectations put upon her.

It wouldn't be until much later that we see how much her loss affected her mental state. The anime, on the other hand, shows the fight in earnest while also focusing on how overwhelmed and nervous Yaoyorozu was during it. In Season 3, how she passed the first stage of the Provisional Hero License Exam is shown, whereas in the manga, she and her group just met up with Todoroki after he passed.

* BadassAdorable: The most fearsome female student of Class 1-A is also a kind and beautiful ray of sunshine, whose bright and enthusiastic smile when wanting to help people infectiously warms the hearts of everyone around her.
* BadassBookworm: Has the highest grades in the class, as well as rivaling Midoriya in assessing and analyzing battles. She also carries an ''actual'' book with her as part of her hero regalia. It's a dictionary (The Yaoyopedia) with a comprehensive description of all raw materials that might come in handy in the field, because she needs a strong mental grasp of how to replicate these materials for it to work properly.
* BareYourMidriff: This is justified since Yaoyorozu ''has'' to bare her midriff so she can generate objects from her flesh, and being the stockiest part of her, that's the place that is the most resourceful. She also unzipped her tracksuit during the U.A. Sports Festival to reveal a sports bra that gave her access to her midriff.
* BigEater: She eats a lot in order to have a large store of matter to draw from when she creates objects.
* BigFancyHouse: Her first reaction when she invites some students over to her house to study is that she'll have to ask her mother to open up the hall. When her classmates do arrive at her house, they're stunned as the front gate of her estate runs the entire street:

She recovers it after figuring out a way to beat Aizawa.
* BrutalHonesty: Points out all the flaws in the first Heroes vs. Villains match and how it could've gone if the teams used their powers more effectively, and openly praises Iida, the only one who did his part well. Freaked out by her lack of tact and the effect it has on the class of causing a ''very'' awkward silence to ensue, All Might silently thinks to himself that she was being a little ''too'' honest.

* ClothingDamage: One of the problems she faces if she needs to generate a large amount of material is that it will start to dissolve not just her body mass, but her clothing as well, which can leave her a wee bit exposed.
* CrazyPrepared: She learned how to create any and everything that might come in handy in her job as a heroine, which included flashbangs, tracking devices, several different types of melee weapons, gas masks and anti-electricity capes.
* CryCute: During the final exams, tears well up in her eyes after she receives a sincere compliment from Todoroki, showcasing his own recent CharacterDevelopment, after being very [[BrokenAce down in the dumps]]. She holds them back until the two of them pass their exam, and even has to hastily wipe them dry and compose herself because she finds it embarrassing and belittling to be seen crying. * ADayInTheLimelight:
** Yaoyorozu received some focus on her lack of confidence during the Final Exams Arc when she and Todoroki were assigned to go up against Aizawa for their final exam.
** The anime adaptation gives her another focus fighting against [[EvilCounterpart Saiko Intelli]], another strategist high class girl, and their battle ends up being a battle of wits between them.
* DependingOnTheWriter: Yaoyorozu's characterization in the manga and the ''Smash!!'' comics is notably different in a few aspects. In the manga, her self-esteem issues are based on a variety of reasons and is expressed as a generalized feeling of anxiety, but in the ''Smash!!'' comics, she is particularly ashamed and afraid of being a CuteClumsyGirl and has focused on correcting the "clumsy" aspect of her personality.

Sero realizes that her ability to create things from her body after eating is like ''pooping''. She instantly curls up into a ball of shame and Jirou slugs him for saying this out loud. * EatingSolvesEverything: Since her Quirk involve creating objects base on how much she had eaten, she always makes sure to have eaten enough to make a solution for even the toughest of problems.
* ExtremeDoormat: For a time, she had trouble voicing her own ideas and plans, usually going along with others. However, during the Final Exams Arc, she gets better.
* FishOutOfWater: She's filthy rich, but she often ''forgets'' that her fellow classmates don't have things such as butlers or giant fluffy master beds.
* FriendlyRival: Formed one with Kendou during the Joint Training Arc. Kendou was disheartened over the fact she and Yaoyorozu were treated as a package deal despite feeling Yaoyorozu got better grades and had a better Quirk, and revealed she desired to face off with Yaoyorozu, something Yaoyorozu was happy to oblige with. It helps that outside of training, the two have gotten along swimmingly thanks to their joint internship under Uwabami.
* GoGetterGirl: Is focused on academic studies and becoming a heroine, which shows in her class grades and rank, but falls into HeroicSelfDeprecation at times.
* HeroicSelfDeprecation: She's prone to insecurity regarding her intelligence and skills as a heroine. After Tokoyami easily defeats her, she slides into [[HisOwnWorstEnemy doubting herself entirely]] until [[PetTheDog Todoroki speaks out and gives her a much-needed pep talk]].
* HiddenBuxom: [[ZigZaggingTrope Zigzagged]]. In her school uniform and day-to-day clothing (which leans towards pretty and graceful, rather than provocative), it's not quite evident how well-endowed she is. But as her hero costume and appearance in a bikini in the anime reveal, she is ''stacked'' - not only are her breasts larger than any of the other first-year girls, but they're even larger than those of the upper-year students introduced thus far.
* HumbleHero: Zigzagged. She honestly wants to be a heroine for good, but is completely oblivious when socializing with those on the lower spectrum of the economy class, so she tends to come across as InnocentlyInsensitive towards her friends. Interestingly, this is considered an endearing point of hers for them.
* ImaginationBasedSuperpower: She can create anything from her body -- from mundane things like Russian dolls to weapons as powerful as cannons. The downsides are that she has to know the exact molecular makeup of whatever she's creating, and that her power is limited by her food intake.
* InSeriesNickname: Yaomomo, mostly used by Jirou and the other girls in the class.
* InnocentlyInsensitive: In an endearing way, Yaoyorozu tends to forget that status-wise, she's much wealthier than her classmates, not because she feels that she's above them, but because she's naive about their differing lifestyles. So she'll do things like casually talk about her mansion and expensive tea brands while being oblivious to how baffled her friends are. However, she's so SpoiledSweet that her classmates find her too cute to be mad at her.
* LadyOfWar: A sophisticated, graceful {{ojou}} who shows great expertise in wielding the different weapons she generates from her [[SpontaneousWeaponCreation Quirk]], especially [[SimpleStaff staffs]]. Even in very dangerous situations, despite her young age, she remains calm and analytical enough to devise innovative strategies.

* MeaningfulName: "Yaoyorozu" is a traditional word that means "eight million" or, more appropriately, a really high number. This relates to the amount of stuff she can create with her Quirk and to her financial position.
* MsFanservice: Her hero costume is a miniskirt and a top that boldly displays her cleavage. Given that her Quirk produces objects from her own body, there's a more practical reason for this than usual.
* NiceGirl: Although she can come off as stern and condescending due to her upbringing, she has nothing but the best interests at heart and radiates sweetness when she's in a good mood, leaving her surrounded by "bounciness" [=SFX=] during such times.
* NiceShoes: Her hero costume comes with some imposingly tall candy apple red go-go boots.
* NoConservationOfEnergy: Downplayed. Creating things is explicitly said to use her own body fat and is limited by her food intake, but the amount of stuff she's able to create at once still far exceeds what should be possible (such as during the U.A. Sports Festival, she pulls an entire cannon out of herself), especially considering her relatively slender frame.
* NotSoAboveItAll:
** Despite the seriousness of the situation, during the Hideout Raid Arc, when the team needs disguises, they purchase them from a store. When it's pointed out that Yaoyorozu could just make them herself, [[SuspiciouslySpecificDenial she stammers and tries to play it off as supporting the local economy despite it being pretty obvious that she was excited about visiting said store]].
** In a deleted panel from the manga that is included in the volume extras, she was ''[[ThrowTheDogABone hyper]]'' overjoyed when she was asked to host a study session at her house. She then proceeded to obliviously brag about the perks of her posh accommodations, without realizing she just insulted everybody who's working class.
* NumberTwo: She is the vice president of Class 1-A behind Iida. In an unofficial way, she is also this to Midoriya. In most given situations, Class 1-A looks at Midoriya for guidance. If he is not around, the one to take the role of TheLeader will often be her.
* OddFriendship: She becomes Jirou's close friend as time goes. Jirou being the most outspoken tomboyish and snarkiest girl in the group, while Yaoyorozu is a pinnacle of delicacy and politeness.
* {{Ojou}}: A polite and well-mannered girl from a very rich family. Her insane wealth has become something of a RunningGag.
* ThePowerOfCreation: Her Quirk allows her to come up with any object out of her body save for living matter, though larger objects take more time and cause ClothingDamage.
* RealityEnsues: As Aizawa mentions, for all her maturity, she is still a 15 year old girl dealing with everything a teenager is doing which includes deep ingrained doubts about herself which are only worsened by the pressure inherent of being considered a ChildProdigy. It's also very telling when she has a moment of awesomeness by readying a catapult and ''fails'' to launch it because her eyes aren't focused on her hand and she doesn't see that her reach is off. Aizawa gives her the benefit of the doubt and cuts her a break, letting her have her moment. This, in a medium where these sorts of awesome moments are either predictably guaranteed to happen without a hitch or backfire stupendously, but almost never in between; it comes off as a highly surprising and unexpected turn of events.
* RequiredSecondaryPowers: Her Quirk, Creation, makes it necessary for her to know the molecular composition of the non-living object she intends to create, hence why she often carries a book on her with such information. It also draws from her fat deposits to work, though her physique is shown to be quite lean except for one [[BoobsOfSteel noticeable exception]].
* RichInDollarsPoorInSense: She's so used to her luxurious accommodations that she doesn't realize how badly she accidentally insults her working class classmates when she talks about how many resources she has at her disposal nor does she notice how uncomfortable and out of place they feel in her incredibly large and fancy house.

** [[PlayingWithATrope Played with]]. When in the heat of battle, she seemingly doesn't care about modesty despite her Quirk being prone to ClothingDamage. Then when she's teamed up with Todoroki, she flippantly opens up her top without telling him in order to allow for more space in creating alloy fibers. However, while she shows no discomfort with wearing sexy outfits, she doesn't appreciate being manipulated for her classmates' sexual gratification, as seen with Mineta and Kaminari's plot to trick the girls into wearing sexy cheerleader outfits during the U.A. Sports Festival halftime, even though her hero costume shows more skin than the cheerleader outfits.
** During the anime adaptation, when she needs to start making a lot of stuff, she all but flashes her boobs to an embarrassed Shouji.
* ShesGotLegs: There's definitely some big and tall legs on Yaoyorozu, which is made even more apparent when she wears her hero costume's equally big and tall boots. During the Forest Training Camp Arc, she manages to make a tracker to hunt down a Nomu with, and All Might praises her for her quick thinking and ability to make snap decisions.

* SquishyWizard: She can create just about any kind of object she wishes, but depending on the object, it takes time to make them. So she needs others to hold off the enemy while she creates the materials she needs. In addition, while her creations can pack quite the punch like her cannon, she doesn't have much in the way of physical combat prowess, best demonstrated in her fight with Kendou.
* StatuesqueStunner: Yaoyorozu stands tall at 173 cm (roughly a little over [=5'8''=], and elevated to roughly [=5'9''=] in her hero costume's boots), towering over all the girls in her class and even several of the boys. It also helps her stand out as the vice president of the class and the most matured, demure and refined girl out of the bunch.
* TheStrategist: Combine TheAce with TeenGenius and this is the result; Yaoyorozu's quick thinking and considerable intelligence give her the potential to be a great strategist.

* TeenGenius: A justified example as Yaoyorozu's Quirk requires her to know the exact molecular formula of any object she wants to create, so she needs to have great memory and analysis skills. * YouAreBetterThanYouThinkYouAre: Told this when she needed to hear it most Todoroki outright tells her he voted for her as class president because he admired her ability to be a strong and confident leader, which snaps her out of her funk almost immediately and actually leaves her a little choked up.
* YoungerThanTheyLook: Like Iida, she has a very mature physique for a 15-year old. This actually comes in handy when they disguise themselves when rescuing Bakugou, because she looks much older as a result.

* CivvieSpandex: Keeping with her punk rock theme, her hero costume looks more like she's heading to a mosh pit rather than fighting crime. Her upgraded costume includes headphones.
* CombatPragmatist: She kicks Kaminari into the action despite his hesitance to fight because she realizes that he can function as a living taser before he does.
* CrazyPrepared: Like Midoriya, she compiles journals about her love of music. So when the time came for Class 1-A to put on a show and she needed to help prepare the others with their instruments, her journals came in handy.
* ADayInTheLimelight: Jirou gets exposure in the U.A. Cultural Festival Arc as she helps lead the class in preparing their performance. Chapter 182 includes a bit on her backstory on the fact that she was to follow in her parents footsteps and become a musician before deciding to be a heroine.
* DeadpanSnarker: She's quite sharp-tongued, especially towards Kaminari. The two have sort of a love-hate relationship, either getting on each others' nerves with their antics, sometimes going as far as to involve causing each other pain with their Quirks, or enjoying a strong friendship with gentle ribbing and a lot of clever banter.
* DishingOutDirt: Her new special move, "Heartbeat Fuzz", allows her to use her sound waves in such a high impact, it is able to shake and destroy the earth before her.

* GirlsAreReallyScaredOfHorrorMovies: Believe it or not, out of all the girls in the class, she is the most afraid with anything involving ghosts. When the others want to visit Class 1-C's haunted house, she is quick to tell them no.

** While her Quirk has immense offensive power when utilized properly, it leaves her with very few defensive options. This is shown aptly during Jirou's first big fight scene during the USJ Arc, where she manages to wipe out entire scores of villains singlehandedly, but would've been taken out by a single surprise attack had it not been for Yaoyorozu's intervention.

A shy student with an odd, rocky appearance and a love for nature. His Quirk, "Anivoice", allows him to speak with and control animals. He rarely speaks outside of his Quirk, and usually communicates through hand gestures.

* GentleGiant: He is one of the bigger students in the class. He's quite possibly the gentlest one too.
* HandSignals: His main way of communication due to his utter shyness. He has started talking more to others, but he is still mostly quiet.
* {{Irony}}: He is the only person in Class 1-A with a Quirk that is voice related. He is also easily the quietest member of the class, almost never talking outside of using said Quirk.
* LogicalWeakness: He has no use in a place where there are no animals to manipulate. His Quirk also seems to have no effect on humans with animal-based ones.
* NatureLover: According to supplementary info. Not surprising considering his Quirk. Might also be a NatureHero, although he doesn't live in isolation.
* OddFriendship: While he is a very shy ShrinkingViolet, Jirou is an outspoken DeadpanSnarker. Additionally, he can talk with animals, while she can attack using sound.
* PersonalityPowers: Played with. It's true that he is good with animals and loves nature, but he is not very communicative otherwise.
* PutOnABus: Baring a cameo in the credits, he, Aoyama, and Ojiro are the only members of Class 1-A who doesn't appear in ''[[Anime/MyHeroAcademiaTheTwoHeroes Two Heroes]]''.
* TheQuietOne: He speaks very rarely, usually preferring visual communication.
