Justified with 18, as she is a powerful cyborg, but Bulma... let's just say Vegeta [[BerserkButton is not pleased]].]] Considering his sheer power, however, [[spoiler:the fact that a mere human like Bulma was any more intact than scattered atomic dust shows ''unfathomable'' restraint on his part.]]

** In both instances, he demonstrates his power by defeating ''Super Saiyan 3 Goku'' at King Kai's planet with just '''two hits''', the first of which being a ''[[FingerPokeOfDoom finger flick to the head]]''.

** He's just as shocked as anyone when he learns that the losers of the upcoming multiverse Tournament of Power will be destroyed with their entire universes, even calling out Goku for the mess he's started. Although, he is more in fear for his own universe and life, not so much the multiverse, and Goku points out how Beerus is a {{Hypocrite}} since he has destroyed planets for random reasons.

* BigGood: Ironically, Beerus and Whis take on this role after the Battle of Gods Saga in ''Anime/DragonBallSuper''. Beerus indirectly trains Goku and Vegeta by claiming that Monaka is the strongest fighter in Universe 7 [[spoiler: when it was all a [[MotivationalLie lie to make Goku and Vegeta stronger]]]]. He also directly investigates Zamasu when he realizes that [[spoiler: Goku Black]] has a similar energy to him and [[spoiler: executes Zamasu when he's found guilty of attempted murder, saving Gowasu's life]]. This action destroys the [[StableTimeLoop time loop]] that created [[spoiler: Goku Black]], assuring that Present Goku will never [[spoiler: get his body stolen by Zamasu]].

** [[spoiler: Later he kills Present!Zamasu when the latter tries to kill his mentor Gowasu and then Goku.]]

* LetsGetDangerous: He actually does start out as intimidating, but after his fight with Goku his character is mostly comic relief, standing around commenting on goings-on or making mostly idle threats when someone annoys him. [[spoiler:Then he receives evidence that Zamasu, a Supreme Kai-in-training, is planning on killing his mentor and embarking on a genocide across the universe(s). Beerus steps in and annihilates Zamasu in less than ten seconds, effortlessly,]] reminding everyone that the title of "God of Destruction" is not just for show.

* MoralityPet: After meeting and fighting Goku, Beerus becomes an overall better person. He is more patient and less willing to destroy things that annoy him. He even shows actual care for the mortals he befriends like stopping Zamasu when he attacked Goku, helping Future Trunks in his owe begrudging way, and shows real distress that his efforts [[spoiler: didn't save Trunks' timeline]] despite him pretending it didn't. That said, he isn't above [[KickTheMoralityPet reminding Goku of his place]] like him mocking Goku for him being unable to stop Champa from [[spoiler: murdering his own team when they lost the tournament]] and threatening to kill him when Goku doesn't do what he wants.

* MotiveDecay: His initial motivation for coming to Earth was to search for a potentially worthy rival in the Super Saiyan God. However, as the ''Super'' era goes on, Beerus seems to become less interested in fighting, often being too lazy to lift a finger against other powerful beings that could give him an even better challenge. Over the course of the series, he refuses to act against Freeza, Goku Black, Broly and Moro, all beings far stronger than Super Saiyan God Goku. Part of this is simply a matter of maintaining tension, as Beerus is strong enough to effortlessly obliterate many of the enemies Goku and Vegeta face. The running gag of him being distracted by Earth's cuisine is a common excuse for his absence, though sometimes he is upfront about being too lazy to fight.

* VillainRespect: If you can call Beerus a villain. He comes to greatly respect Goku and the others to the point he spares the Earth from destruction for the time being. On top of that, in the ''Battle of Gods'' movie, as he's about to kill Vegeta, he says Vegeta would die with his honor intact.

* KarmaHoudini: Probably the only straight example in the entire franchise. While he's friendlier and less evil than Frieza, Cell, or Buu, he still gets away with some unpleasant actions: he cruelly used King Vegeta's head as a footstool in front of his own son Prince Vegeta while making him treat him to an Eight-Course Banquet, knowing that he was much weaker than him and with no possibility of defense, and has been responsible for numerous genocides throughout the universe. He is also ready to destroy Earth over not getting pudding. His initial behavior in ''Super'' unambiguously pushes him to this status.
* KarmaHoudiniWarranty: In the Universe Survival Saga, his handling as God of Destruction comes back to ''really'' bite him when it was revealed that [[spoiler:Universe 7 is one of the universes about to be destroyed by Zeno because it has the second-lowest mortal rating of all 12 universes and the only reason his universe has a chance to be spared was thanks to Goku's proposal for the multiversal tournament. As a result, Shin calls him out for his sleeping habits and Goku called him out for his random destruction of planets.]]

* NiceJobBreakingItHero: He tears into the Earth's fighters since the only members for team U7 for the Tournament of Power are from Earth (even if some of them are aliens) and now they're one member short since [[spoiler: Buu fell [[RunningGag asleep]]]]. He then blames them for the lack of strong fighters in the universe since they destroyed the Frieza Force. This gives Goku the idea to [[spoiler: recruit Frieza as the tenth member]].
