After a few more appearances in ExpandedUniverse novels, Kate became one of the very, very few {{Canon Immigrant}}s in the TV series. Also got her own ''AudioPlay/BigFinishDoctorWho'' spinoff in 2015.

This raises the interesting question of which Osgood dies in the Series 8 finale.
