!!Justine Cooper
->'''Played By:''' Laurel Holloman

A young woman who becomes a vampire hunter after her twin sister, Julia Cooper, is killed by vampires. Unable to cope with the death of Julia, Justine turns to alcohol and roams graveyards at nights, killing any vampire she encounters.
----
* BikerBabe: At least, she dresses like one.
* BoundAndGagged: Wesley keeps her like this in a cage in his closet.
* BreakTheBadass: By the beginning of Season 4, Wesley has so thoroughly broken Justine that he's able to dissuade her from trying to attack him by simply threatening to take away the bucket that serves as a bathroom.
* BrokenBird: Her twin sister's death sent her spiraling into grief and hatred. And that was before Holtz twisted her into his remorseless weapon of vengeance.
%%* DarkActionGirl
* TheDragon: To Daniel Holtz.
* DrowningMySorrows: After her sister's death.
%%* EvilRedhead
* ImpaledPalm: Holtz does this to Justine with an ice pick to test her loyalty.
* KillTheOnesYouLove: Falls for Holtz, who uses that to convince her to kill him as part of his revenge against Angel.
%%* KnightTemplar
* SuspiciouslySimilarSubstitute: The genesis of the character came from Elizabeth Röhm's departure from the show.
%%* VampireHunter
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Wesley flings a set of handcuff keys at Justine and tells her to get lost, and so she does - it's the last we see of her. Unlike many other characters, she didn't even appear in the canonical follow-up comics.

->'''Played By:''' Creator/ElisabethRohm

-->''"Well, you see, the thing about "detectives" is, they have résumés. And business licenses. And last names."''

A member of the LAPD, Kate first encounters Angel when both are on the trail of a serial killer with Kate unaware that the killer is a demon. After this, she becomes Angel's friend on the force, though relations turn frosty when she finds out what he's fighting and exactly what he is. Leaves in the second season but returns and joins Angel Investigations in the comics.
----
* ActionGirl: After she uncovers the supernatural underworld of Los Angeles, she proves she's capable of handling it by going toe-to-toe with vampires.
* AgentScully: Initially, but after finding out about Los Angeles' supernatural side she becomes a fully-blown Mulder, as lampshaded by her dim-witted partner.
-->'''Kendrick:''' Come on, Kate. Everybody knows you've gone all Scully. Any time one of these weird cases crosses anyone's desk, you're always there. What's goin' on with you?
-->'''Kate:''' Scully is the skeptic.
-->'''Kendrick:''' Huh?
-->'''Kate:''' Mulder's the believer. Scully's the skeptic.
-->'''Kendrick:''' Scully's the chick, right?
* CallingTheOldManOut: She does this at her father's retirement party, while under a magical influence. Her father being her father, he barely bats an eye and just tells her she's an embarrassment.
* CowboyCop: When she mistakenly believes that Angel is the SerialKiller she's looking for, she has absolutely zero qualms against searching the Angel Investigations offices without getting a warrant beforehand.
* EconomyCast: The show eventually got around this by turning Kate InspectorJavert. It's mentioned that she spends all hours of the night listening to the police scanner, which would explain why she's always first on the scene.
* FairCop: To the point where her colleagues call her 'the pretty one'.
* FriendOnTheForce: To Angel, before becoming an InspectorJavert.
* HappilyFailedSuicide: In the second-season episode "Reprise."
* InspectorJavert: Ends up this towards Angel to the extent that, after a BackFromTheDead Darla tells her that Angel was behind a string of murders, Kate unhesitatingly storms the Hyperion with a SWAT team to have him arrested. However, she is forced to accept the truth when Gunn points out that Angel, being a vampire, couldn't possibly have just stormed in and killed someone in their own home unless he was explicitly invited or the residents were ''already dead.''
%%* OccultDetective
* PutOnABus: Elisabeth Röhm left the show to join ''Series/LawAndOrder'', and Kate drops out of the series. There's no word of where she's gone or why her obsession with the supernatural underworld (especially Angel) just dissipates, making this particular case rather jarring. She [[TheBusCameBack returns]] in the ''After the Fall'' comics, where it's revealed that she established an antiquities business and used her business connections to learn more about the supernatural and the occult. During ''Angel & Faith'', Gunn reveals that she's back with the LAPD, now part of their new supernatural crimes unit.
* ReassignedToAntarctica: Lampshaded by Kate after her superiors take exception to her growing interest in the macabre. She's later bounced off to the filing room, or something.
** TurnInYourBadge: ...With this as the ultimate result.
%%* SuperCop
* UndercoverCopReveal: In her first appearance ("Lonely Hearts").
* WeakButSkilled: She ''knows'' that she isn't strong enough to fight vampires head-on, so she uses pragmatic tactics to gain the upper hand.

[[folder:Rondell]]
!!Rondell
->'''Played By:''' Jarrod Crawford

* RogueAgent: He's left to run Gunn's crew when he joins Angel Investigations but gradually oversteps his boundaries.
%%* WhatTheHellHero
* WeUsedToBeFriends: His final appearance has him standing by while other guy is threatening to kill Gunn and the two deciding to stick to their own sides of town after an ambiguous conversation.

[[caption-width-right:250:''"In my day we didn't need any damn sensitivity."'']]
->'''Portrayed By:''' John Mahon

A retired police officer and the father of Kate Lockley.
----
* AssholeVictim: The guy is an unrepentantly awful parent, and drug mule who turns away attempts to help him. He doesn't inspire that much sympathy when he dies.
* CallingTheOldManOut: Kate does this under mystical influence at his retirement party. Trevor, being made of stone, is not moved.
-->''"Welcome to the end of an era. The old man wants us to believe he could care less about all this attention and free booze. But I know him better than that. He put a lot of years in on the job and made a difference in many lives. And now it's over. It's a huge deal, no matter what he says. In fact, I don't know what he's gonna do with himself. He forgot how to be anything but a cop a long time ago. And maybe that's why I became a cop too. After Mom died, you stopped, you know. It was like you couldn't stand the sight of me. Her face, her eyes looking up at you. But big girls don't cry, right? You said, "Gone's gone and there's no use wallowing." Worms and dirt and nothing, forever. Not one word about a better place. You couldn't even tell a scared little girl a beautiful lie. God, I wanted to drink with you. I wanted you to laugh once with me the way you laughed with Jimmy here or Frank. My best friend, Joanne? Her mom was soft and she smelled like macaroni and cheese. And she would pick me up on her lap and she'd rock me. She said she wanted to keep me for herself that I was good and sweet. Everybody said I was. Do you realize that you have never told me that I'm pretty? Not once in my life. Well, I can't anymore, Dad. I can't campaign for the office of your beloved daughter. You closed your heart after Mom left us and that's it!"''
* GrumpyOldMan: Trevor is irritable, sour and overly critical.
* HeKnowsTooMuch: The reason his death is ordered.
* ParentalNeglect: To Kate; he closed himself off to her when she needed him most, after the Lockley mother died.
[[/folder]]

[[folder:David]]

[[folder:Virginia]]
!!Virginia Bryce
->'''Played By:''' Brigid Branagh

The daughter of Magnus Bryce, a powerful wizard. She was also a socialite in the Los Angeles scene.
----
* BodyguardCrush: With Wesley, while he was masquerading as Angel.
* FieryRedhead: She's a flame-haired firebrand with a forceful personality.
* HatesTheirParent: After her father tries to sacrifice her to a demon, Virginia punches him in the face and cuts him entirely out of her life.
-->'''Magnus:''' Don't make me angry.\\
'''Virginia:''' Right. Because then you might do something bad. You were going to kill me! You are not my father anymore.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: She chafes under the smothering control and "protection" of her father.
-->'''Wesley:''' It's a bad situation.\\
'''Virginia:''' It's a bad situation? It's a waste of a life. I keep waiting for my life to start, and it never does.
* MadScientistsBeautifulDaughter: She's the daughter of powerful and evil warlock Magnus Bryce.
* ParentalBetrayal: Her own father raised her as a lamb for the slaughter, seeking to increase his own powerbase by sacrificing her to the demon Goddess Yeska.
* RescueRomance: With Wesley, who served as her bodyguard and ultimately rescued her from her father.

[[folder:Anne]]
!!Anne Steele / Lily Houston / Chantarelle
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/1598d92cff60cec92d9ceed85eceaa4c.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:''"Hey, can I be Anne?"'']]
->'''Played By:''' Julia Lee

-->'''Angel:''' You're not afraid of me.\\
'''Anne:''' Well, I've seen worse things since. I've seen a fourteen-year-old girl sitting in her own blood after a rough trick and dozens of people just walking right by, so no, vampires, demons, even lawyers pretty much don't impress me.

Ex-vampire groupie whose romanticism came to an abrupt end during a run-in with Spike & Drusilla. After migrating to L.A., she adopted the name "Anne" -- in honor of her two-time rescuer, Buffy Anne Summers -- and opened a teen shelter, which is how she came into acquaintance with Gunn and his boys. Herself a teenage runaway, Anne is passionately (some might say stupidly) idealistic in her job. She represents an 'on the street' parallel to Angel's mission.
----
* AscendedExtra: She appeared in one episode in Season 2 of Series/BuffyTheVampireSlayer, and made another appearance in the Season 3 premiere when Buffy briefly moved to Los Angeles. She popped back up in Angel as a semi-recurring character.
* BackForTheFinale: After a long absence, she turns up in the series finale.
%%* CharacterizationMarchesOn
* ConditionedToAcceptHorror: She's mostly unfazed by the presence of the supernatural.
* DamselInDistress: Twice over on ''Buffy''. She's a good deal tougher on ''Angel''.
* DumbBlonde: Not the sharpest knife in the drawer in her early years.
%%* TheDeterminator
* EmbarrassingNickname: After discovering that "Chantarelle" is a type of fungus.
* HaveWeMet: [[DefiedTrope Defied]] In "Blood Money", neither Angel nor Anne recognize one another, despite having met briefly three years earlier. For Angel, who spent centuries in a Hell dimension inbetween, it's been even longer than that. Writer Mere Smith explains: "Joss was like, 'Do ''you'' remember everybody you met three years ago, and shared three sentences with?' And I was like, 'Oh, fine, use logic.'"
* IHaveManyNames: As a teen, she became attached to a cult led by a "loser preacher" who dubbed her "Sister Sunshine". Afterward, she reinvented herself as "Chantarelle" and became a regular at the Sunset Club. Next, she drifted to Los Angeles and took on the name "Lily Houston". It was during this time that she ran into Buffy, who was herself a runaway and going by an alias: "Anne." Buffy's heroism so inspired her that she decided to adopt Buffy's middle name as her own.
** The shooting script for "Lie to Me" gives her birthname as Joan Appleby, but this didn't make it into the cut. Ironically, not only did Anne take her name from Buffy, but Buffy briefly and unwittingly [[BrickJoke takes her name from Anne]] after becoming amnesic ("Tabula Rasa").
-->'''Buffy:''' I like it. I feel like a "Joan."
* LittleHeroBigWar: She opuses on fighting poverty and helping kids while everyone else is in the battle of supernatural forces.
%%* NaiveEverygirl
* OfCorsetsSexy: As "Chanterelle."
* OnlyKnownByTheirNickname: We never find out her real name; she variously goes by "Chantarelle", "Lily Houston" and finally "Anne Steele".
* PerkyGoth: Used to be a regular at The Sunset Club, a gothic night club for vampire poseurs and wannabes. However, most members had never actually seen a real vampire, and thus they naively believed them to be [[NotEvilJustMisunderstood gentle, misunderstood beings]], referring to them as the "Lonely Ones."
* TheRunaway: She ran away from her home in Sunnydale, to ultimately settle in Los Angeles.
* ShoutOut: When Angel examines her driver's license, Anne's address is listed as "Willoughby Ave." Anne Steele and John Willoughby are characters in ''Literature/SenseAndSensibility''.
* WideEyedIdealist: She wants to believe the best of people.

[[folder:Merl]]
!!Merl
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/5735bbc9292797a7af93095cb5f7e5c4.jpg]]
[[caption-width-right:250:''"Hey, I don't go sellin' out my pals. How much you gonna pay?"'']]
->'''Played By:''' Matthew James

-->'''Merl:''' Jesus, man! I mean, can't you, you know, knock?
-->'''Angel:''' You don't make [[OhCrap that funny expression]] when I knock. Or if you do, I ''don't see it.

A tongue-less Parasite demon with the reputation of a snitch among the underworld community. He hangs around mostly at Caritas, the karaoke bar that fellow green-skinned demon Lorne runs. He is introduced to Angel by Wesley, who had used his services before, in exchange for money. Afterwards, he is frequently used by Angel for information about the vampires Darla and Drusilla. However, instead of being paid for his services, Angel constantly abuses Merl (both verbally and physically) in order to force him to give him information.
----
* BloodyHilarious: Merl was eventually killed by members of Gunn's gang who had gone out of control and started killing demons indiscriminately. When Gunn asks where Merl's body is, Angel casually points at assorted splotches throughout the room.
* ButtMonkey: His entire role in the series, prior to his death, is to get brutalized by Angel for information.
* DudeWheresMyRespect: Angel never pays or thanks him for his help.
* TheInformant: His entire role consists of Angel abusing him for information.
* KnowledgeBroker: He sells information, primarily to Angel.
* LovableTraitor: Angel's lack of respect towards Merl is somewhat justifiable given that in his first appearance, Merl tricked him into killing a pregnant woman's demon guardian so that she'd be vulnerable to bounty hunters.
* TheScapegoat: He's a harmless guy but gets targeted by demons.
%%* ScrewThisImOuttaHere
%%* SoundOnlyDeath
* YankTheDogsChain:
** One episode where Wesley is the one dealing with him has him actually collect a payment, although it is reduced when he tries to negotiate.
** Merl finally tells off Angel for all the abuse the latter's been subjecting him to and demands an apology. When Angel finally realizes he was wrong and comes around to his home the next day with a box of donuts to apologize, he finds out Merl's been gruesomely murdered by a fanatical demon hunter.

->'''Played By:''' Jenny Mollen

A young art major living at home with her older sister and niece, she is bitten by a werewolf during a night run. She herself eventually becomes a werewolf and a potential love interest for Angel. After becoming a werewolf, she voluntarily comes to Wolfram & Hart every month during the full moon in order to be caged, a similar arrangement Oz had in the Sunnydale High library.
----
* CannotSpitItOut: Angel, being ObliviousToLove, needs to be beaten about the head by multiple people before realizing Nina is interested in him.
* DrivenToSuicide: [[spoiler:She's so depressed over having become a werewolf that she's fully prepared to let Jacob Crane and his clients [[EatenAlive eat her]] at a fancy dinner. After Angel saves her, she grows out of it.]]
* EveryoneLovesBlondes: Angel does, but to be fair, he does have a type.
* ShapeshiftingExcludesClothing: She was always nude after reverting.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: From other werewolves in the universe, even, with the difference being explained as a separate subspecies. This is largely to take advantage of improved special effects compared to Season 2 of Buffy.

[[folder:Gwen]]
!!Gwen Raiden
[[quoteright:250:https://static.tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pub/images/686e91e8f9056bb39ec2d5b075e7dc63.JPG]]
[[caption-width-right:250:''"I'm fibbing. It's lying, only classier."'']]
->'''Played By:''' Creator/AlexaDavalos

Gwen was born with the ability to generate and control electricity, with the downside being that she can't turn it off, and thus can't make contact with another person. She uses her power to work as a thief for hire, and runs into the gang when hired to steal a mystical artifact. A thief by nature, she shows up when she needs help, but always leaves before things get too hairy.
----
* ActionGirl: She's a skilled female combatant who can use her electric powers to quickly incapacitate foes.
* AggressiveSubmissive: Despite her {{Stripperiffic}} outfit and coy attitude, she's actually a virgin who CantHaveSexEver due to her powers. When she manages to turn them off, she acts very shyly with Gunn when they're about to sleep together.
* BadassAbnormal: Even without her powers, she's still a capable hand-to-hand fighter.
* BareYourMidriff: Always all of her outfits have her baring her navel.
* BelligerentSexualTension: With both Angel and Gunn, both who she got to fight early on.
* BerserkButton: Being called a freak. "That's ''my'' word. And I get cranky when people like you use it."
* BlessedWithSuck: She has incredible electrical powers... which means she can't touch anyone since they're on all the time.
* BraidsOfAction: Has her hair in a ponytail while carrying out some of her heist.
* CantHaveSexEver: She's still a virgin and is unable to be intimate due to her PowerIncontinence making her unable to touch anyone. Which is why she steals the L.I.S.A device in "[[Recap/AngelS04E16Players Players]]", so she's able to turn off her powers and be able to touch again.
* ClassyCatBurglar: Sure, she'll rob you, but she'll do it with such style that it's hard to be mad at her for it.
* ConspicuousGloves: Wears a pair of long black gloves so she's able to touch people without electrocuting them.
* DoesThisRemindYouOfAnything: The scene in "[[Recap/AngelS04E16Players Players]]" where she strips down to ToplessnessFromTheBack with Gunn putting the L.I.S.A device on her bare back is reminiscent of a couple using contraception. And soon enough they kiss and we get a SexyDiscretionShot.
* {{Expy}}: To ComicBook/{{Rogue}} from the ''Comicbook/XMen'' series. Like Rogue, she is unable to touch her fellow humans. Gwen does find a way around it, though.
* FeetFirstIntroduction: As an adult, the first thing we see of her at her feet as she enters the restaurant to meet Elliot, with the camera [[MaleGaze slowly panning upwards to show the rest of her]].
* HeadTurningBeauty: Definitely invoked when we're introduced to her as an adult. Her entrance into the restaurant to meet her client has her in a [[LadyInRed red]] [[HellBentForLeather leather]] BareYourMidriff outfit with a SexyWalk that makes [[DistractedByTheSexy every man in the room gape at her]]. Her client is less than pleased, as he [[SoMuchForStealth wanted a covert meeting]].
-->'''Elliot:''' I thought I said ''discreet''.\\
'''Gwen:''' What? ''[looks down at her outfit]'' Do you see a nipple?
* IDidntMeanToTurnYouOn: When Gunn puts the L.I.S.A device that turns off her powers, him merely brushing her is enough to get a visible reaction from her.
-->'''Gwen:''' I think it worked.\\
'''Gunn:''' ''[runs his hand down her [[ToplessnessFromTheBack bare back]]]''\\
'''Gwen:''' ''[OOCIsSeriousBusiness uncharacteristically nervous]'' It ''feels'' good.\\
'''Gunn:''' So if you couldn't touch, I guess that means [[CantHaveSexEver you’ve never...]]\\
'''Gwen:''' ''[suddenly sits up nervously [[HandOrObjectUnderwear covering herself with a pillow]]]'' Nope... nope.\\
''[{{beat}}]''\\
'''Gwen:''' Anyway... um... thanks for [[AccidentalInnuendo[invoked] turning me]]... ''off''.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Above all else, she wants to be able to touch people. Her powers can't be controlled, so she wants to get rid of them using the LISA device.
* InterplayOfSexAndViolence: Her fight with Angel in "[[Recap/AngelS04E02GroundState Ground State]]" is sexually charged and leads to them snogging when she restarts Angel's heart while trying to zap him.
-->'''Gwen:''' I don't usually enjoy the hand-to-hand this much.
* KimonoFanservice: Dressed up in one to infiltrate Morimoto's party in "[[Recap/AngelS04E16Players Players]]".
* MagicalDefibrillator: She knows how to use her ShockAndAwe powers not only stop a heart but how to start it again. She even manages to shock Angel's 200-plus-years-dead heart into beating temporarily.
* MeaningfulName: Raiden is a Japanese god of thunder and lightning. Not a pseudonym, as her parents were addressed as "Mr. and Mrs. Raiden" in her BackStory. It's also a pun on "Gone Raiding."
* MsFanservice: To say Gwen is a beautiful woman would be an understatement and she wears very revealing and tight clothing to go enhance her looks.
* NatureAbhorsAVirgin: In her third appearance, Gunn realizes that, because of her powers, [[CantHaveSexEver she's never had sex]]. After they steal LISA (an experimental biometric control system), he's kind enough to help her with this.
* PowerIncontinence: Her powers are forever on and unable to be controlled.
* ShipTease: Has a lot with Angel and Gunn, and ends up kissing the former and sleeping with the later
* ShockAndAwe: Was born with the ability to generate and control electricity.
* SkunkStripe: Has a few streaks of hair that are sometimes colored red, others in white.
* SpyCatsuit: For her heists, she wears a skintight catsuit with a CleavageWindow.
%%* StevenUlyssesPerhero
* {{Stripperiffic}}: She has a revealing and FormFittingWardrobe and seems to [[ProudBeauty enjoy the attention she gets]]. {{Justified}} for a woman who CantHaveSexEver, having someone EatingTheEyeCandy is the only sexual attention she can receive.
* TheTease: Dresses and acts very provocatively. This behavior is, however, Freudian, given that her powers ensure that she is a virgin - as she admits in "[[Recap/AngelS04E16Players Players]]".
* TheyDo: She loses her virginity to Gunn after he helped her suppress her abilities.
* TouchOfDeath: She's unable to touch people without electrocuting them, often fatally. Unless you're a vampire, of course.
* UnexpectedVirgin: As mentioned above, she can't have sex until her final episode but you wouldn't know it from her coyness and wardrobe.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Makes no appearance on season 5, until she comes back in the ''ComicBook/AngelIDW'' comics.
* WhereDaWhiteWomenAt: Says "Hey, Denzel!" when she first meets Gunn. He's later her first sexual partner.

[[folder:Dennis]]
!!"Phantom" Dennis Pearson
->'''Played By:''' B.J. Porter

The ghost of a young man who was murdered by his mother. After getting revenge on his mother's evil spirit, he remains "roommates" with Cordelia.
----
* AndIMustScream: Dennis' spirit was left trapped in the wall where he originally died until Cordelia busted down the wall that imprisoned him, finally letting him go free.
* TheDogBitesBack: His mother murdered him and was responsible for his spirit being trapped on earth for decades. His first response to finally getting free is to destroy his mother's spirit.
* GoodAllAlong: Originally the team suspected Dennis murdered his mother so he could run off with a girl she didn't approve of. In reality, it was she who killed him. As soon as Dennis' ghost is free he helps destroy his mother's spirit and proves himself to be a pretty good roommate to Cordelia.
* MonsterRoommate: He's a ghost who shares an apartment with Cordelia during the early seasons.
* MyBelovedSmother: His mother was beyond controlling, sealing him up in a wall in her apartment just to stop him from leaving her alone.
* NiceGuy: He's generally pretty friendly, though it's not worth pissing him off.
* SealedRoomInTheMiddleOfNowhere: His mother essentially buried him alive, tying him up then constructing a wall to seal him away so he could never leave her.
* ShoutOut: He's sometimes referred to as [[Film/ThePhantomMenace "Phantom"]] [[PunnyName Dennis.]]
* StarCrossedLovers: He tried to run off with a girl his mother didn't approve of. In response, his mother buried him alive behind a wall so he could never leave her.
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: He's not seen again after Cordelia ascends to a higher plane of existence. Presumably he's still haunting the apartment.

A trio of spell casting women associated with Lorne and Angel.
----
* AbsoluteCleavage: All three wear low-cut dresses.
* {{Catchphrase}}: ""Mmmmmm Angel."
* TheDividual: They seem to share a personality and never appear without each other.
* FinishingEachOthersSentences: They tend to just speak one word at a time.
* OldFlame: Their dialogue implies that their former lovers of Angel and they hint that they would take sexual favors from him in exchange for their work.
* PlaceOfProtection: They get hired to cast anti-violence spells on ''Caritas'' and The Hyperion Hotel.

-->'''Kate:''' Scully is the skeptic.
-->'''Kendrick:''' Huh?
-->'''Kate:''' Mulder's the believer. Scully's the skeptic.
-->'''Kendrick:''' Scully's the chick, right?

[[caption-width-right:250:''"Hey, can I be Anne?"'']]
->'''Played By:''' Julia Lee

-->'''Angel:''' You're not afraid of me.\\
'''Anne:''' Well, I've seen worse things since.

-->'''Buffy:''' I like it. I feel like a "Joan."
* LittleHeroBigWar: She opuses on fighting poverty and helping kids while everyone else is in the battle of supernatural forces.
%%* NaiveEverygirl
* OfCorsetsSexy: As "Chanterelle."

'''Gwen:''' What? ''[looks down at her outfit]'' Do you see a nipple?

'''Gwen:''' Anyway... um... thanks for [[AccidentalInnuendo[invoked] turning me]]... ''off''.
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Above all else, she wants to be able to touch people. Her powers can't be controlled, so she wants to get rid of them using the LISA device.
* InterplayOfSexAndViolence: Her fight with Angel in "[[Recap/AngelS04E02GroundState Ground State]]" is sexually charged and leads to them snogging when she restarts Angel's heart while trying to zap him.
-->'''Gwen:''' I don't usually enjoy the hand-to-hand this much.

* NippleAndDimed: She was always nude after reverting.
* OurWerewolvesAreDifferent: From other werewolves in the universe, even. This is largely to take advantage of improved special effects compared to Season 2 of Buffy.

----
* BerserkButton: Being called a freak. "That's ''my'' word. And I get cranky when people like you use it."
* BlessedWithSuck: She has incredible electrical powers...which means she can't touch anyone since they're on all the time.
* ClassyCatBurglar: Sure, she'll rob you, but she'll do it with such style that it's hard to be mad at her for it.
* HelloNurse: Definitely invoked during Gwen's [[SexyWalk entrance]]. This behavior is, however, Freudian, given that her powers ensure that she is a virgin - as she admits in "Players".
* IJustWantToBeNormal: Above all else, she wants to be able to touch people. Her powers can't be controlled, so she wants to get rid of them using the LISA device.
* MeaningfulName: Raiden is a Japanese god of thunder and lightning. Not a pseudonym, as her parents were addressed as "Mr. and Mrs. Raiden" in her BackStory. It's also a pun on "Gone Raiding."
* MsFanservice: To say Gwen is a beautiful woman would be an understatement.
* NatureAbhorsAVirgin: In her third appearance, Gunn realizes that, because of her powers, she's never had sex. After they steal LISA (an experimental biometric control system), he's kind enough to help her with this.
* PowerIncontinence: Her powers are forever on and unable to be controlled.

-->'''Angel:''' ''[{{Beat}}]'' Take them all.

* EvilLaugh: While delivering his BreakingSpeech he's chuckling away.

->'''Played By:''' Daisy [=McCrackin=] & Madison Eginton

A young woman with telekinetic powers. Bethany's father sexually abused her when she was younger, which caused her to develop her powers.
----
* AbusiveParents: She was sexually abused by her father ever since she was a little girl, and of course it's affected her deeply. She's angry, self-loathing and (according to her) sexually promiscuous because it's the only way she knows how to relate to men.
* AttemptedRape: Bethany is almost raped by two scumbags, but manages to telekinetically smash a dumpster against them, crushing them up against a wall and turning them to jelly.
* BerserkButton: Any mention of her father, particularly sending her back to him, results in Bethany freaking out. It's hard to blame her.
* DramaticShattering: When she sees her father again, all the glass in the floor she's on shatters.
* IfYouKillHimYouWillBeJustLikeHim: When Lilah sends Mr. Chaulk to see Bethany, she's faced with the choice of whether or not to kill him for abusing her for so long. She eventually makes the right choice, or at least the more traditionally moral choice by sparing him...after tossing him out a window and halting him just a few feet before a messy death.
* HatesBeingTouched: Due to her abusive past.
* ParentalIncest: She was a victim of this from her father, from when she was barely five years old. Mr. Chaulk is twisted enough to even see this as a loving relationship and not a vile, predatory act judging by how he shows no fear of her (initially) and seems to think that the way to bring her home is to promise it will be "just the way it was".
* PersonOfMassDestruction: Her telekinesis is very impressive, and she had barely started honing it. No wonder Wolfram & Hart saw so much potential in her as a weapon.
* TraumaticSuperpowerAwakening: The sexual abuse she endured as a child was a catalyst for awakening her powers, and her attempted rape brings her to Angel's attention.

A young woman tormented by the abuse and torture done to her. When she becomes activated as a Slayer she suffers visions from past and current Slayers, flees the hospital she is kept at and tries to make sense of what's done to her.
----
* AnArmAndALeg: When she thinks Spike was who tortured her she drugs him and cuts off his hands with a bonesaw as retaliation.
* AntiVillain: Picture Elsa of ''Disney/{{Frozen}}.'' Okay, maybe not ''quite'' that soft but much of her villainous traits are due to first believing Spike was who tortured her, then down to doing exactly what any Slayer would have done.
* AxCrazy: First the torture, then having to relive what other Slayers had gone through sends Dana off the deep end.
* BeingTorturedMakesYouEvil: Dana's torture is the long and short end of her psychotic behavior.
* CallBack: Spike already has Dana out for blood because he's a vampire. He then lets slip he killed first one then two Slayers. Even when he gets through to her that he wasn't the one who tortured her Dana seeks to kill William the Bloody as vengeance for the two slain Slayers.
* DestinationDefenestration: Spike letting slip he killed the Chinese Slayer leads Dana to doing this.
* DontSneakUpOnMeLikeThat: After the torture, the visions and the realization she's hunting down ''the'' Spike Dana is freaked enough as it is. So when a store clerk surprises her she reacts by breaking his arm.
* FacialMarkings: Dana had taken to putting blood on her face like war paint.
* FightingFromTheInside: Dana reveals that she thinks Spike is the one who tortured her, as well as believing she is Nikki Wood and the Chinese Slayer he killed. He eventually is able to reason that he did nothing to her, but because he did kill two Slayers that doesn't stop her.
* GirlWithPsychoWeapon: She nicks a bonesaw while fleeing the hospital and we are left to guess whether she uses it in self defense, not that Dana needs it, but it's only shown used on Spike.
* GoodIsNotNice: Okay, Spike and Angel were evil. Dana doesn't care that they have a soul now, or who she has to hurt or kill to get at them. Whether Andrew and the Slayers he brought to help her have better luck is LeftHanging.
* ItsTheOnlyWayToBeSure: Cited by Dana numerous times. "Stake the heart, cut off the head. Keep cutting until you see dust."
* ItSucksToBeTheChosenOne: Having the memories of slain Slayers forced upon an already tortured mind makes it a small miracle Dana held it together as well as she had.
* ManySpiritsInsideOfOne: Dana is already crazy because of the torture she went through. Now that she relives the previous Slayers as well she resembles a psychotic Faith.
* MessyHair: Her unkempt curly locks.
* NiceJobBreakingItHero: On the one hand Willow activating every potential Slayer brings on the likes of Kennedy and Satsu. On the other hand, Dana.
** Spike reveals to Dana he's a vampire. Then that he killed one Slayer. Then he killed another. Even a reasonably sane Dana thinks William the Bloody has to die.
* NightmareFuelColoringBook: Dana painting on the walls of the hospital ward, trying to make sense of what's happened to her.
* NotSoDifferent: Despite being taken in by an army of like minded sisters intent on helping her Angel and Spike fear she is too far gone, she had become a monster like they are. Invoked shortly after Dana flees the hospital, looking like a Billy Idol groupie (who stole his look from Spike,) bonesaw in hand in place of a smoke and the same rock tune blasting away during Spike's introduction.
* TheOphelia: After a lifetime of torture and having centuries of horrors suddenly thrust on her Dana could hardly be anything else but a crazed, SurvivalMantra spouting Slayer bent on revenge. She becomes comparatively more sane, but still considered a lost cause.
* PastLifeMemories: Dana relives what every Slayer went through, quickly twigs who Spike is, at the cost of losing her sanity and when worked up actually believing she is, say, Nikki.
* RoaringRampageOfRevenge: On Spike, first for what she thinks he did to her, then when convinced he wasn't responsible for his admission of killing two Slayers.
* SlasherSmile: When Spike vamps out in front of her Dana looks like a kid on Christmas, cluing him in there may have been one tiny flaw in his plan.
* SurvivalMantra: "Heart and head. Don't be scared. Stab the heart, cut off the head. Keep cutting until you see dust. ItsTheOnlyWayToBeSure."
* WhatHappenedToTheMouse: Because of tricky legal and copyright issues Dana is never heard from again, what with her being a Angel character and the ongoing comics being considered a continuation of Buffy.
