* Huge meta-awesome for [[Creator/JeriRyan Jeri Ryan]] in "Body and Soul". To quote [[Creator/RogerEbert Roger Ebert]] on the whole FreakyFridayFlip idea: "Requires actors to confront an actor's nightmare, i.e., acting as if they were another actor." - made worse if it's a character that's been on screen for 6.5 years at the time and both the viewers and the "main" actor are deeply familiar with it. And Ryan ''still'' absolutely nails the [[Creator/RobertPicardo Robert Picardo]]-as-the-Doctor performance, down to the subtle facial tics.

* As mentioned in YMMV, ''Jeri Freaking Ryan''. Yes, she was added to the cast as a shameless bit of {{Fanservice}} to spike the ratings because SexSells, but either the casting department knew ''exactly'' what they were doing or they got ''insanely'' lucky. Jeri Ryan is a very talented actress, enabling the writers to tell some really good Seven-centric stories and let her show her acting chops. Seven of Nine: [[JustForFun/ComeForTheXStayForTheY come for the epic boobs, stay for the epic]] CharacterDevelopment.

* Every time in the past the Federation has encountered the Borg has been a desperate, life-or death struggle that costs thousands of lives. Janeway decides to ''go out and hunt them'' in "Dark Frontier" in an attempt to steal a Transwarp Coil. Starfleet doesn't issue pants big enough to contain brass balls like that.

She slides into the prison - literally, ''slides'' down the chute of the episode's title - and immediately has her phaser rifle at the ready, taking a few shots and making it clear that anyone getting in between her and her people is in for a world of pain.

** Janeway gets two - first, she tells the leader of the planet that the Dreadnought missile is heading for that she and Voyager will stop it, even if it costs them their lives. This comes after the planet's leader has told Voyager of the rumors they've heard of Voyager (spread by Seska and the Kazon) of them being a danger to all who they cross paths with. In response to her promise, the leader assures Janeway that for all the enemies that Voyager has made in the Delta Quadrant, they've made a friend here. Then, as the only way to stop the missle is by a warp core detonation, Janeway orders Voyager evacuated, save for herself, and she will pilot the ship into the missile's path - the captain goes down with the ship, after all.
*** Not to be outdone, Tuvok refuses her order - logically, she requires a second in command to take over in the event she cannot complete the mission herself.

** Seska gets a villainous moment when her true colors are shown, and after being outwitted through a pretty awesome bit of investigation on the parts of Chakotay, Tuvok, and the Doctor. She delivers a blistering rebuke of Janeway's choices that landed them in the Delta Quadrant, and manages to make an escape while surrounded by Voyager's command staff.
--> '''Chakotay:''' The one thing I still can't understand is why?
--> '''Seska:''' I did it for you. I did it for this crew. We are alone here, at the mercy of any number of hostile aliens, because of the incomprehensible decision of a Federation Captain. A Federation Captain who destroyed our only chance to get home. Federation rules. Federation nobility. Federation compassion? Do you understand, if this had been a Cardassian ship, we would be home now. We must begin to forge alliances. To survive, we must have powerful friends. The Kazon-Nistrim were willing to be our protectors in return for some minor technology.
--> '''Janeway:''' Minor technology that could change the balance of power in this quadrant.
--> '''Seska:''' Change it in our favour! That is all that matters at this point. Building a base of power in this quadrant. You are a fool, Captain. ''(to Chakotay)'' And you're a fool to follow her. I can't imagine how I ever loved you. Computer, command XJL. ''(beams out)''

** When Janeway demands that B'Elanna and her crew complete their work by the end of the day, B'Elanna tells her that she's not engaging in ScottyTime - when she says it'll take her a day, it'll take her a day. Later, when they need to get the replicator off the Kazon ship, B'Elanna reports ready to get to work on beaming it out through the radiation. Before Janeway's done telling her how quickly they need to get it out of there before Kazon reinforcements show up, B'Elanna's already finished. She's not exaggerating, and she knows her job.

* "Rise" is a great moment for Neelix. After their shuttlecraft is damaged on an away mission, Neelix gets himself, Tuvok, a couple of [[RubberForeheadAliens Nezu]] scientists and a foundry worker, into a carriage attached to a tether, that will take them up high enough to get a signal to ''Voyager.'' But when one of the scientists is poisoned and murdered, Neelix insists on getting to the roof of the carriage to find out what he was so desperate to find before he died. Tuvok finds this frivolous, as he's treated all Neelix's actions for the entire mission, and brushes him off. Suddenly, normally nice guy Neelix finally gets tired of Tuvok's verbal abuse and [[TheReasonYouSuckSpeech tears into him.]] (Bonus points for the foundry worker, Lillias, validating his frustrations.)

-->'''Neelix:''' That's right! That's exactly what I'm talking about! You have no feelings for me, but you have feelings against me. For three years you've ridiculed me and made it obvious to everyone that you have no respect for me. And I've tolerated it. You know why? You know why? Because you are smarter than I am, Tuvok, and more logical, stronger, superior in almost every way. And I admire you. But you don't have any instincts, have any [[GutFeeling gut feelings,]] and you don't really understand people. But non-Vulcans have feelings and they have to listen to them, and I've got to listen to mine, And right now they're telling me we need to get up on that roof and find out what the Doctor was talking about.

** Even more bonus points: Neelix was correct. When Tuvok finally listened to him and went to the roof, he found a data storage device that revealed information about a colonizing alien force, that was planning an invasion of the Nezu colony. This caused TheMole to reveal himself, whom was eventually [[IFellForHours dispatched by Tuvok,]] and the information on the device eventually helped uncover the entire plot and allowed ''Voyager'' to easily defeat the hostile invasion force. All because Tuvok and Neelix finally put aside their differences.

** This in turn allowed Neelix to get the tether the rest of the way into the atmosphere,
and his HeroicSecondWind, piloting the tether with a bad concussion, is kind of Awesome in and of itself. The information on the data storage device eventually helped uncover the entire plot plot, and allowed ''Voyager'' to easily defeat the hostile invasion force. All this, because Tuvok and Neelix finally put aside their differences.

** Janeway also gets some good lines in on Q. Like when he says that he changed her bed because her normal sheets chafe his skin, she says that it wouldn't be a problem, since he's not getting in the bed.

** To further expand on the awesomeness of this moment, is the rant that the enraged Captain gives the alien leader, whose expression at the realization is the epitome of [[OhCrap Oh Crap!]]:
-->'''Janeway''':"That's what you were trying to accomplish, wasn't it? Hmm? Pumping up my dopamine levels to push me to the edge, keeping me awake for four days straight with the constant pain of your devices drilling into my skull. Well, [[GoneHorriblyRight this is the culmination of your work]], and – guess what – you're going to be right here to collect the final data."
