  • The intro with the running-along-the-beach scene, shown again at the end, to a choir singing "Jerusalem." It is powerful.
  • Eric Liddell is knocked down by another runner, and the pack leaves him far behind. Eric gets up, runs after everyone else and wins the race - and then collapses in exhaustion. And no, it's not a marathon, or a half-marathon, or even a mile - it's a 440 yard sprint. The man is simply that fast.
  • Liddell standing up to the Crown Prince of England.
Cadogan: There's only one way to resolve the situation. That's for this man to change his mind, and run!
Prince of Wales: Don't state the obvious, Cadogan. We have to explore ways in which we can help this young man to reach that decision.
Liddell: I'm afraid there are no ways, sir. I won't run on the Sabbath, and that's final. I intended to confirm this with Lord Birkenhead tonight, even before you called me up in front of this inquisition of yours.
    Cadogan: Don't be impertinent, Liddell.
Liddell: The impertinence lies, sir, with those who seek to influence a man to deny his beliefs!
  • The sermon which Liddell delivers while the race he refused to participate in is being run.
  • Liddell, via voice over, as he breaks out in his famous pose.
Liddell: I believe God made me for a purpose, but he also made me fast. And when I run I feel His pleasure.
