* Maurice's PapaWolf moments when he denies Gaston's ambition to marry Belle. The first in particular, due to the fact that he heard [=LeFou=] mention Gaston's affairs with widows after the war. The original animated version of Maurice seemed almost indifferent to Gaston's boorishness (he even suggests him as someone the lonely Belle could talk to, since he's so handsome), but here he holds nothing but disdain for a man more likely to mistreat his daughter in their "marriage" (not to mention, he left him to die in the forest). In the second moment, even when threatened to be sent to the asylum for being perceived as crazy, he still has the stones to refuse Gaston's demands with a simple "Never." The fact that he doesn't give Gaston a [["TheReasonYouSuckSpeech reason I will not let you marry my daughter" speech"]] just goes to show that he is above him.

This Troper and meta moment

** Between the psychedelic visuals of the original scene, the epic choir of the servants at the grand finale of the score, and lead singer Creator/EwanMcGregor absolutely ''nailing'' it, "Be Our Guest" stands out in this troper's mind as the one moment of the remake that completely ''outshines'' the 1991 version.

!!Meta
* The fact that this is the first-ever live-action Disney remake of one of their animated classics '''to actually be a musical''' is awesome in and of itself.
** Most--if not all--of the classic songs are back. And they are '''GLORIOUS'''.
** The actors, judging by the sound of things, actually did most--if not all--of their own singing. Think about that for a second: [[Film/HarryPotter Hermione Granger]] ''singing''. She's really come a long way.
* Not to mention, it has grossed $1.264 billion in total, making it the ''highest grossing live action musical of all time!''
* The official trailer was seen a staggering 127 ''million'' times within 24 hours of its release, beating the ''Fifty Shades of Grey'' trailer by ''seven million'' views, thus taking the latter's place as the world's most viewed movie trailer within 24 hours. Clearly the nostalgia for the classic fairy tale runs deep.
* The third trailer continues the recent tradition set by ''Suicide Squad'' of having the visuals sync with the beats of the music, which pulls in viewers magnificently.
* Disney refusing to comply with the Malaysia censorship board's request to cut out the "gay" material so it can show the film. It's a shot that lasts all of two seconds, but the company refused to bow to homophobia and insisted the country either show the film in full or go ahead and ban it.
** Since more information has been released, it turns out that the Malaysian censorship board additionally wanted to cut out the ENTIRE song "Gaston", citing the reason as being [=LeFou=]'s dancing, actions, and lyrics.
** And after a week the film's success proved too much to resist and they consented to allowing the film's release uncut.
* Lindsey Stirling's rendition of [[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=X-AjhXhk19U Beauty and the Beast]].
* Audra [=McDonald=] ''smashing'' the songs ''Aria'' and ''Beauty and the Beast'' out of the park and into orbit.
* Dan Stevens and Creator/EmmaWatson deserve major acting props for doing their scenes while Dan was in a ridiculous, heavy, stilted mo-cap suit. You wouldn't know the Beast wasn't actually there.
* Dan Stevens custom-ordered some real fangs to wear while performing as the Beast, because it helped him develop the proper manner of speaking to hide the fangs that the vain Prince would be likely to do. ''That's'' dedication to a role.

Up To Eleven is a defunct trope

* Although the scene is a TearJerker, there's a small one during the scene where the enchanted objects turn inanimate. When Chip desperately rushes to his mother, he catapults himself and the saucer a little too hard. His saucer shatters on the ground, and just when you think [[DisneyDeath he's about to]] [[UpToEleven break too]], Chapeau catches him. TearJerker aside, it's enough to make you breath a sigh of relief and thank him for saving Mrs. Potts's son.

** In the book version, she later points out to the Beast that the spell did nothing to improve the Beast's horrible attitude. Even though he's become a better person at this point, it still takes guts to talk that way to the Beast. ** Maurice aiding Belle in escaping the asylum wagon. Averting ReedRichardsIsUseless, Maurice applies his mechanic skills in order to disable the lock.
