Hey, everybody! After a long break from...well, from anything remotely productive (the last pieces of liveblog work I've completed are Makai Kingdom and the original incarnation of Hyperdimension Neptunia), I've decided to dip my toes into the liveblog game once again. This time, I've decided to go back to my roots as a reviewer of most things RPG Maker 2000-like with a look at a few games from that era, starting with Jay's Journey, an Affectionate Parody of the genre (and of early RPG Maker games in general) by Jason Godding, a.k.a. HeroicJay on RPG Maker.net. The game was completed and released back in 2002, and it sounds like he's working on a remake with RPG Maker MV, but there doesn't appear to be a set release date for that yet.

Because I don't think this site supports hotlinked screenshots for liveblogs, this version will be text-only, and the text will be somewhat different from the version I've posted on my site to accomodate for this (and because it's easier to post links to tropes here). Jay's doesn't appear to have really fancy graphics or many complex systems to explain - it's (allegedly) a simple, straightforward RPG with plenty of humor. I'm going to try to play this game through to the very end, doing as many of the sidequests and finding as many of the treasures as I can, but I can't guarantee that it'll be a 100% Completion run. With that out of the way, let's get started!
