The chapter begins with a fireworks display, and Katara ruing that the other couples are more open about their feelings than she and Zuko are with theirs. Worse still, Zuko isn't even with Katara, but with Mai. Katara's gradually growing jealous of her.
Among the many people Zuko meets, there's one he's at least somewhat happy to see again- Lt. Jee, who somehow survived the Siege of the North.
Another item on this chapter's agenda is Aang and Ty Lee, since Katara (as well as the author) aren't content to criticize Kataang, but also Tylaang.
Much of the rest of the chapter dealt wit the often drunken shenanigans of the cast, few of which had anything meaningful or advanced the plot.
Among the author's notes is yet another anti-Kataang essay, which goes out of its way to depict Katara and Aang in the "mother/son" interpretation of their relationship while making no serious effort to argue the good points of the pairing or even understand why people ship it.
There wasn't all that much worth discussing in this chapter, but the next one will have a fairly significant development, albeit not a good one.
What I liked
- The fact that the coronation arc's finally ending. Sorry, but I'm fairly hard-pressed.
What I didn't like
- The slow pace of this chapter
- The author's lack of respect for Kataang, which I say as someone who actually likes the author's take on Zutara.
