Chapter 7: Confession

(We open with Rika smiling a bit and waving to the audience)

Rika: Welcome back. Well, Christmas Eve is upon us. Hopefully you guys enjoy the holidays, and find some time to spend with the people you love. Your family. Your friends.

As for me...well, I actually don't have a better way to celebrate than continuing on with liveblogging shitty stories. I mean, hell, I ended the third Prayer Warriors liveblog on Christmas Eve a couple years ago. So...(she exhales) I'm going to give you guys a gift. With the exception of Chapter 12, from this point forward, I'll liveblog two chapters each, just like the good old days.

(Rika then plays with her red Soul Gem necklace for a few seconds, before she grabs her tablet)

So previously. Beast Boy reveals his true identity to Terra. The mooks continue to wreck shit up, as always. And we find out about the hero's savior: Copy-Cat, who may or may not be a fragment of an Author Avatar for Mykan.

Let's move on with...

Chapter 7: Planning an Attack!

You know how Copy-Cat gave our heroes some backstory on Beast Boy's evil ways? Now we get another one: this time, it focuses on his kind, the Psyconians. As well as the Light Prognosticus. You ready?

...oh, God. Apparentally, Psyconia is the same planet physically (so to speak) as Tameran. And it's in a galaxy far away from our heroes'. What's the world like? Well...you know about the movie 30 Days of Night? Try a fucking lifetime of night, since it doesn't orbit a star. Yeah, I just...

Also, it's always warm, with rich soils...basically, it's a Mary Suetopia, and possibly a precursor to Unicornicopia.

The type of people are half-human, half-cat creatures: gentle, but it's best not to fuck with them if they're fighting. And they have masks similar to Robin's. No, really. That's how Mykan explains away why they look like that. Dude, that doesn't still handwave laziness away.

...and is it just me, or does the female Psyconian (the one with white fur) look...pretty off?

Anyway. Each one's born differently with one of a special power/ability. Except for Copy-Cat, who was born with every single one of the abilities/special powers. Then explain how the hell he managed to have that? Is that why he's the prince?

You know what? Copy-Cat is a fragment of the Author Avatar in this story!

As you can expect, our heroes are shocked at the revelation. Copy-Cat's known ability, though, is that of shapeshifting. Yes, the same type of power that was demonstrated several chapters before. And while it does grant him the same abilities and powers as the copied person, there are some drawbacks. Namely, he can't copy sizes, and he can't copy robots or spirits. As long as the person's alive or undead, they can copy.

So...what about, say, cyborgs? And are spirits technically undead, or am I thinking about ghosts?

But wait, there's more! Copy-Cat, in his normal form, can use his tail like a propeller, making him fly. No, really.

...

Didn't he rip this off from Super Mario Bros. 3?

The next ability he has is psychic-foresight, where he can read people's minds and sense every move. And it lets him see through smokescreens as well. Yeah, this guy...is definitely a God Mode Stu.

Then again, with the foresight, using it too much can cause headaches. Yeah, I'm getting headaches from reading this shit. Also, it can't be used on full robots or anyone more powerful than he is...some-fucking-how.

Finally, this one is ripped straight off from Wolverine himself. Claws. That come out of his knuckles. I got nothing.

Copy-Cat then goes on to say that while he can beat Beast Boy's mooks, he can't beat the foe himself. Oh, and as it turns out? His mom and died at the villain's hands. Yeah, Mykan, what was it that you said about Psyconia not being in total danger, again?

As for the Light Prognosticus, it can counter the Dark Prognosticus (of course), and anyone with good intentions would be able to understand the text. The magic from that book would be able to guide them on their adventures. That said, though, it is said that the books are both equal.

But there's a problem. While the book does have good, powerful spells, even Copy-Cat can't understand how to tap into that power. Wait...then why does he have the damn book in the first place?! In fact, literally no one can understand it. Just...oy.

Also, the chapter does confirm that the Void is a portal to Beast Boy's castle, and thus, it is okay to access it. Well, hopefully you guys don't get destroyed when you do! (Seriously, what's up with the constant rule changes and shit?)

The problem this time? The castle has burning lasers—(Rika stammers in anger) WHERE THE FUCK DID THEY COME FROM? Really, we weren't told about this until now! As it turns out, presumably, Copy-Cat's parents decided to head to the Void, trying to stop Beast Boy, but they died. Yeah...I just...

...and of course it does have Copy-Cat seek revenge. Welp, we had "vengeance" in the last chapter, and "revenge" in this one. I don't have the heart to make any more jokes about those two combining to form that one particular word. Regardless, the heroes decide to join their new friend, and none of them can figure out how to tap into the Light Prognosticus. What do you want to bet that it will become a massive asspull?

But all they know is that it does contain the powers necessary to stop the Void. And the only way to do so and revert everything back to normal is to kill the wielder of the Dark Prognosticus. The heroes don't have any time to figure out a plan, for they decide to just fight, for not only the sake of the world, but Terra as well. They all decide to train and prepare over the next few days.

...but as it turns out, someone was expecting the plan the entire time. Some...how. Because, cut to the Void, and in Beast Boy's castle—

Oh. We get loud groaning. Um...so as it turns out, Beast Boy, even in his full evil regalia, is still having fucking nightmares over Terra dumping him. And then he wakes up. You know, dude, if you really love Terra that much...really wanted to make sure she never, ever leaves your side, why not marry her? You're a villain, so...

...

Should not give him ideas, sorry.

And, I'm not kidding, either, Beast Boy asks the Dark Prognosticus on what he would need to do. If there's a way to end the prophecy and his constant depression. With the Dark Prognosticus, there are no answers, so he's fucked.

Why not consult a Magic 8 Ball next time, dude? It has more answers than that damned book.

Enter Kamica, a worried look on her face. Actually, not so much "worried" as it is "bug-eyed". She asks Beast Boy if he's okay, and he assures her that he's fine. Yeah, right. While Kamica doesn't believe him, Beast Boy then gets right back to...normal, I guess. For a relative definition of "normal" for this fanfic. And so, our chapter ends with Terra being locked up, the universe getting fucked, and them laughing—

Is that a glass shattering I hear in the background? Pfft. Thanks for more unintentional humor, Mykan!

Chapter 8: Into the Darkness

A few days later, we have our heroes ready to face Beast Boy. They plan to go to the Void, and so they do, with his spaceship. I still don't get how...how they managed to survive when the Void destroys shit.

And despite being a primitive planet (I fail to see how the hell that planet's even primitive), the spaceship is capable of going higher speeds. Almost crazy speeds, even.

Gaaaaaaaah. The same-ass creepy music that always starts the beginning of the chapters plays as the heroes realize that they must use extreme caution. Why not throw in a scream to disrupt my sleep habits for a long time?

Meanwhile...okay, you know what? The creepy-ass music is getting to be too much. For all scenes where Beast Boy says his plans and shit, you know exactly what kind of music my headcanon would be.

(Rika relaxes)

That's much better.

Anyway. Terra witnesses the universes crumbling, everything getting destroyed. Eventually, the universes would be gone, which means that she would have to die, too. But she came to a realization, that she can't have a normal life, and the Titans have recognized who she was.

Are you serious? Is that how you try to handwave away "Things Change"? Look. I realize how much that episode was a breaker. Especially with the Terra/Beast Boy ship-sinking. But...seriously, Mykan. If that one episode was enough to change your entire outlook on life, even more than ever...seek professional help. I can't stress this more than enough.

Terra decides that she's a hero, and thus, she needs to save the world. She remembers all those times where she strayed on the wrong path, but she's explained away as someone who's lost, confused.

(Rika drinks)

And she remembers Beast Boy's words, long before he turned evil. So she realized the error of her ways, and now she must set them right.

I'm sorry. I'm so sorry. But...how is she at fault for this? I mean...I can't retread ground forever, as much as Mykan loves doing.

Cut to Dr. Beljar, and—

Dr. Beljar: "Regeneration...50% complete. Time remaining: one hour!"

(Rika stammers)

Regeneration? The dude didn't even face any fights! And I'm sorry, but I'm kinda imagining him in a Dalek-esque voice.

And amidst the...weird-ass groaning and voice clips, Dr. Beljar is still making his plan. And he's about ready to spring it. So what the hell does it have to do with regeneration? Is he going to upload himself into a new cyborg body?

As confused as I am about the entire situation...cut to the heroes. For they prepare to go inside the Void. And when that happens...

(Rika shrieks in pain as she watches)

THE INTENSE SHITTY VISUALS! THE UNEXPLAINED VOICE CLIPS FROM AN OLD SHOW! MY EYES! MY EARS! IT BURNSSSSSSSSS!

(she is shaking)

(in the fluffy cloud heaven's main room...)

Catherine (after explaining to the group what the Writer arc was like): So, guys, do you have any questions?

Mako: Um...

Xander: Do you think Mykan can even redeem himself?

Sean: Honestly...very little. If at all.

Mao: Now I see...I just hope we stop him soon. Anyone who would be that crazy to rewrite anyone and delete the others...

(she shivers)

(and then the Tokusatsu Spirits decide to check on Rika...it ends as well as you'd expect)

Sean: Rika...

Mao: Is she reading a horrible fanfiction again?

Sean: Perhaps. But she's supposed to recover. I just wonder what is going on right now.

(his eyes flash)

And it's Christmas Eve...guys? We will need to disband for now. I'll call you if we need anything.

Mao: Are you sure?

Sean: Yes. I'm sure. Spend time with your family. Relax. That's an order!

Mako: Right!

Catherine: Thank you for allowing me to help you guys. (bows, and she and the Legendary Rangers disappear)

(Sean then exhales, and he picks up a gift)

Sean: Sentinel Knight, Phantom Ranger, if you guys find any disturbances, let me know immediately.

Sentinel Knight: We will definitely let you know.

(Sean nods, and he leaves)

(Rika then recovers slowly, and as soon as she feels better, Sean arrives)

Sean: Rika, are you all right?

Rika: Y-yeah...had a moment.

(Sean then notices the sake bottles)

Sean: ...

Are you—

Rika: Reading a shitfic? Oh, yes. But it wasn't my fault this time. (she explains to Sean everything that happened)

...and I can't refuse requests.

Sean: ...

(he is just silent)

<The girl is completely brave...as she's also completely insane. Then again...>

So you're saying it may be Mykan?

Rika: That's the only way that would make sense. Who would be stupid enough to send me an e-mail, pretending to shower praise, only to reward me with a piece of shit like this?

Sean: Oh, I do get what you mean. Maybe after this, if you survive, you can take a break. Just think positively, you know? (smiles)

(Rika nods)

Good. Well...just need to drop this off. Let's just say that you'll need it later. (winks as he places it on the table) If you have any problems, call us.

Rika: I will!

(Sean smiles a bit more, and he leaves)

So...where was I? Oh, yeah!

After a series of mindfucky imageries and sounds, the group managed to make it in one piece. They head out the ship, seeing the castle before them. They know that Terra's in there somewhere, as well as Beast Boy. When they reach the castle gate...

  • Take a shot every time you see "But suddenly!".

...the burning lasers from before shoot through, and they manage to zap Raven. And holy fucking hell, is it painful to watch/listen to. Not just because she is OOC, mind you. But even with the ever-shitty visuals, it just gives me the absolute creeps. Brr.

(Rika is then seen clutching a plush doll)

Then Copy-Cat shoots some lasers, destroying the burning lasers and saving Raven from death. Yeah...where was that when his parents had their demise? In fact, was it the heat lasers that did them in, or was it Beast Boy himself?

Speaking of, the mooks and Beast Boy realize that the heroes have arrived, and the beams are destroyed. And the latter actually...doesn't give a shit, for he realized that the moment's at hand.

This chapter ends with Beast Boy telling the mooks that they know their orders. And he'll deal with the heroes himself. The mooks pledge their loyalty to their ruler, and they vanish.

Beast Boy: "My dear minions...it pains me severely that I must deceive you!"

...oh, dear God. So...we'll get this explanation at a later time, for we close this chapter with him wangsting about how he can never find the peace he so wants. Also, something about the heroes marching through the gate to the castle in order to gain access.

(Rika sighs, and then she opens her present...it's a Rescue Blaster and a V-Lancer, the latter in the elaborate design of a Magical Girl wand. The blade part is sharp as ever, but with an option for a three-pronged attack. The blaster part of the weapon, when revealed, does function the same as a regular V-Lancer...)

...w-wow. Those are beautiful...(smiles as she places them in the bag) I'll have to thank the guys one day.

Will Rika keep chugging along, or will she break? Will the heroes in the fanfic defeat Beast Boy? And what will Terra do to survive?
