day 636 ash meets eusine/suicune shows up again {ep227}
226 has the group back in ecruteak, and the eevee sisters make another appearance. 227 has more legendary Pokémon myth stuff and I love how Eusine is all like meeting suicune (and ho-oh) would be the most epic thing ever and how Ash is like been there, done that, didn't even get a t-shirt.
day 642 ash beats gary in a skateboarding race and wins a Pokémon egg {ep228}
day 650 the egg hatches and ash gets a phanpy {ep230}
That' right Gary who's eating dirt now... seriously Ash, that comeback took me like 3 seconds to come up with, I know you're a Nice Guy, but come on he's Gary motherfucking Oak, when are you ever gonna beat him at anything ever again, enjoy it some more. 229 has a hyperactive detective Officer Jenny and serves as a nice interval filler till 230. Pikachu, you shouldn't accidentally shock the new baby right after he hatches, it might run off and oh dammit, still all things considered a fun way to complete Ash's Johto team.
231 mainly focuses on TR which is great, but as a side-note, Pikachu gives the most epic “You're done fucking with me today” look since ep21, back when they tried to screw with his bestest buddy butterfree. 232 is a Brock focus ep with a haunted house and a ninetails that is good, but also rubs salt in the wound of ep169 and Brock giving up vulpix. 233+234 are bad filler examing an emo tyrouge and more natu/xatu future shenanigans bullshit.
day 672 ash meets the red gyrados, lance, and pryce {ep235-236}
It's been 100+ episodes since he did anything truly life threatening, so I guess Ash was over do, but he takes a hyper beam dead on, from a gyrados hyped on 'roids and then falls down in front of a speeding van. Is Ash a highlander, a time lord, insert generic/specific title for nigh invulnerable/immortal people? Some things stretch believability is all I'm saying. Lance is not only the Kanto-Johto champ, he's also in the Pokémon Men in Black... that's cool.
day 674 ash gets seventh badge {ep237-238}
So the whole reason you're a dick who won't even accept Ash's challenge to a fight, which your job prohibits you from doing anyway Pryce, is that you thought that your Piloswine ran away? And then when Ash finds it for you safe and whole after a lifetime of regret and anger, and all your emotional problems fade away, you don't just give Ash the badge out of gratitude?
Which all things considered is totally fair, but then you puss out like a bitch midway through because you think you're going to lose or think your piloswine shouldn't be battling soon after being unfrozen solid for upwards of at least two decades, and forfeit giving Ash the win anyway? Well Pryce, at least I can say you are a better gym leader than Erika. Now we leave Mahogany, with one more badge to go and one thankfully brief chunk of filler to get through.
239-246 is all filler of varying quality. 239 is yet another oddish/vileplume/sunflora waste of time (that makes 4 episodes altogether) 240 has this punk kid spark up a rivalry with Misty, which would be a cool idea... if he ever appeared again. 241 and 242 are just both complete dreck; Of note though, is the last scene of 241/first scene of 242 where Ash turns into a pikachu, no fooling.
243 is good filler though, being the last episode to focus on Jigglypuff, sure she appears briefly in ag39 but that's a stupid, boring, and dumb filler episode, so say goodbye to Jigglypuff after this everyone hopefully she found a nice vigoroth to sing for in Hoenn. 244 is bad with some slowpoke and meditation/hackneyed Buddhist philosophy? it's honestly just weird, 245+246 are both good filler wherein Pr. Oak stars and James tries to impersonate him, and the UFO clefairy from SPACCCEEEE return respectively.
