Alright TV Tropes, tell me how to get that secret ending!
"Getting the secret ending as always requires certain gameplay accomplishments, but also requires you to answer three particular questions during the ending with the exact right answers" FUCK
Also, the page brings up the point of time travel already being in the series with the Timeless River. FINE. The mechanic is different though (and way more confusing), so I'm still annoyed about that.
Anyway, I unlocked the Secret Message this time. And I am confused!
I also found out that I answered Riku's questions wrong! Fuck. Might as well just start the game over on Proud. Or maybe not... apparently I need seven trophies (and to answer the three questions correctly, goddammit).
Well, on my search for more trophies, I discovered Flick Cup! Oh man this is fun! I think the series has been getting better with minigames. I really enjoyed the board game from BBS, and this one is even better because it's less time consuming! But just as addicting!
What and now I stumbled upon zombie Pete? What? Oh Julius, my bad. Yeah, I'm going to run away.
After getting all seven trophies (THANK GOD I didn't have to get gold in Flick Cup) I'm tackling the end game again! It's much easier the second time around.
Alright, got the questions right, messed up on the secret message but that's alright because I already did that through the cutscene option, and yay, the secret ending was unlocked! :D
Another guardian of light, huh? I wonder who it is...
Hah, Sora's still hanging out with his buddies, but everyone's splitting up! I wonder what Lea's worried about... and yup, the princesses are in trouble. So the princesses are being targeted, and they need seven guardians to protect the seven princesses? Alright, makes sense.
KAIRI
OMG KAIRI
SHE'S GOING TO BE THE SEVENTH GUARDIAN
YES
I'M SO HAPPY
I GUESS SHE'LL BE PROTECTING HERSELF BUT WHATEVER
THIS IS THE BEST
All my hard work was totally worth. B)
Alright, I guess that's it for my playthrough! When I get back to college, I'll probably start a Proud Mode playthrough because seriously, this game is fun. As for the plot, this is one of the most emotionally satisfying games in a while. Time travel aside. I'm still having trouble trying to figure out the rules for that!
And at least there's not much of a cliffhanger. Yes, the battle is looming, but for now I can be satisfied with the idea that everyone will be preparing. Unless something bad actually happened to Sora based on the secret ending. Which would make me sort of mad, honestly, considering the effort put in to keep Sora safe.
So yeah! Loved the game, and I'm glad I remained spoiler-free because seeing this all first hand as I played it was the best feeling. Now to wait until 2016 or so for KHIII. Fun.
