Chapter 29: Memories of Saldea
Kadere, having gotten a mysterious note that a Darkfriend among the Aiel is setting up a plan, meets Isendre to discuss her trying to be a Honey Trap for Rand. The spearwives have caught her every time, and now they’ve finally broken her. Seeing that she’ll soon be confessing everything, he kills her while reflecting that he had to kill his sister for the same reason.
I guess Jordan decided that he’d better show how bad Kadere was, since he hasn’t really done anything until now. It’s a bit of a disappointment that we don’t get any sense of why he became a Darkfriend in the first place, but it’s certainly shocking what we do learn, so I’m definitely much more interested in what he’ll do now.
