Chapter 11: The Nine Horse Hitch
Siuan stops in a town where an old contact from the Blues’ spy network is set up, Duranda Tharne. Tharne is very surly and insists on embarrassing her first, but she gets the message that they should go to a town called Salidar. She then insists on leaving immediately.
We just spend one comparatively short chapter in this town, but it’s still very vivid as the Tijuana of this world. There’s some funny stuff mingled in with uncomfortable humiliation, which raises some awkward questions about how we’re supposed to react to that. But since we’re not spending any more time here, at least those worries aren’t too important.
