Chapter 17: Heading West
After sneaking out of town, the group finds the circus right where they left it, and get invited in with Thom’s gleeman skills and Elayne using the Power to fake a high wire act. They meet the rest of the performers, but most important is Cerandin, who is a Seanchan left behind in their retreat from Falme. She agrees to tell them anything they want to know about the Seanchan in exchange for helping her blend in better.
Cerandin is a great addition to the story, as a kind of character we haven’t had until now. And you can also say that for this whole situation, which nicely keeps it from feeling stagnant despite this group having little real goal at this point.
