Chapter 8: Over the Border
Nynaeve, Elayne, Thom, and Juilin have been on the road for a month on their way back to Tar Valon, and after talking their way past a platoon of Whitecloaks they reach the first town on the way. Nynaeve wants to keep going, but everyone else wants to stop and she gives in.
I’m glad Amathera isn’t still a part of this subplot, as we have plenty of annoying female characters already. Though I do have to take issue with Elayne’s portrayal here, as she comes off as rather more a spoiled princess than she’s been until now. Hopefully this is just a consequence of being in Nynaeve’s head.
