It seems Mat’s coin flip wasn’t what I thought it was about. Instead, he now goes through that door in the dungeon, and finds himself in a world with electricity and lizard people who will answer the standard three questions. He had them picked out, but is dumb enough to get sidetracked when they say his destiny is to go to Rhuidean, in the Aiel Waste. Then they throw him out as he continues being an asshole about it, where he finds that Rand and Moiraine were also inside, but none will talk about what they asked.
Mat’s firmly back in Scrappy territory, but it seems he’ll be going along with Egwene this time, which should give us a new dynamic. Though I hope this isn’t the start of them hooking up; I’m actually starting to hope Egwene ends up with Perrin now. As for the lizard people, they just seem to be weird for the sake of weird, and I’m not that interested.
