Chapter 19A: (The Last Stone)

This map happens to be both the last nighttime map and the last (major) indoor map. It's also the last survival map of the game. Being a map with treasure, I brought along my thieves.

  • Again, I split the party into 3 main groups. Ewan, Ephraim, and Kyle started at the northern side of the map. Eirika, Duessel, and Rennac started in the center of the map and went towards the right. The rest of my units went left.

  • The northern team should have been smaller in retrospect. Most of the action happened on the southern side of the map, and the northern team had to hussle to get to that area. The allied Armor Knights of this map weren't too much help either, easily dying to the enemies whether I liked it or not. One important thing that the northern team did do was protect the side entrance to the throne room that has to be kept safe.

  • One thing I learned about Fire Emblem playing in this map was that the Torch staff was more useful than I realized. I was under the impression that this staff basically acted like a Torch with more uses. But in reality, it functions similar to the Flare in Advance Wars:Days of Ruin. This means that you can chose an area within staff range (Magic/2, which gave Artur a range of 10) to "shoot" the spell at, and that area becomes lit up. I was able to shoot the spell at the main entrance that was hiding the boss, which let me keep up with what was going on in the area until my units were able to get there themselves. I'll be certain to use this useful staff more often in future FE games.

  • Rennac's team faced little resistance, but the darkness made me play conservativly, and by the time I finished the map, Rennac was only able to open one chest, the one the housed the Bolting spell.

  • Colm's team had even more issues however. His team went against the most enemies, and they were the toughest ones as well. It was a chore trying to get Colm to the treasure chest chamber on the western side of the map, and by the time Colm managed to unlock the door that led to the treasure, the other units had defeated the boss, ending the map before he could get anything.

  • Tana killed the boss a little earlier than I would have liked. She got a critical, and the chapter was done.
