Serafew being a reasonably sized border town, only a few people were in range of Eirika's shout when Grado decided to interrupt her shopping. Fortunately, they will suffice.
Gilliam and Moulder take the left alley, Eirika up the center, Franz and Natasha on the right, and Colm visiting the house. Events proceed mostly according to plan, Franz dealing with the bandits and hitting level 11, although Eirika retreated to a hedge to heal after accidentally aggroing several enemies.
Gilliam got a critical on an axefighter which didn't really speed things up but was cool. Eirika and Franz dealt with remaining enemies and lured Joshua in range, Franz being able to survive a critical and incapable of killing Joshua.
With Joshua pacified, Colm takes his killing edge, Eirika visits a house, and Franz baits a couple of soldiers and a fighter after being healed by Moulder. He is brought to half health but kills all three. He rides to within a few squares of the boss and heals up, while Eirika and Colm prep for incoming bandits and Moulder heals Joshua.
Colm finishes the bandits, Moulder visits the village, Gilliam skewers the mercenary, Franz starts fighting the boss, and Eirika alters course for the final house when I realize Gilliam's movement will make me waste a turn to get the essential torch.
Wrap up, leaving two bandit reinforcements on the map. Franz is now level 13. I don't know the others but it's probably like half of that. His movement, balanced stats, and weapon versatility mean he's doing basically everything right now. There's a reason the Jeigan is almost always a Paladin.
