See: Colm.

On the world map I do a bit of trading and have Gilliam buy a javelin.

It just occurred to me that I am playing GBA Fire Emblem again and units have to end their turn next to each other to build supports, so I'll try to do that a bit more with Moulder and Gilliam. And now Colm.

Gilliam and Franz cooperate to knock down a wall, then Eirika dashes in and kills a bandit for his door key. She levels up, and gives Moulder an opportunity to heal her for 1 HP and some experience. Neimi scouts ahead, and everyone else falls back to guard the cave against the possibility of more bandits returning from their pillaging.

Colm arrives, and Neimi recruits him, then Franz scoots up to guard her. Moulder and Gilliam trade Eirika's door key to open the door so Eirika can fight the bandit. Colm attacks a bandit.

Colm and Eirika finish their opponents, Moulder trades the Chest Key from Eirika to obtain a javelin, Gilliam and Eirika break down the wall, Franz catches up, Colm gets an iron sword, Neimi decides to block the staircase Colm arrived from.

A hand axe bandit misses Eirika and an archer -tinks- Gilliam while unfortunately not getting hit by his javelin. Then Colm opens the door, Franz kills that bandit, and Eirika and Gilliam murder archer. Moulder goes to stand by Gilliam for support building.

Franz counterkills a bandit, is missed by a hand axe, and an impudent thief steals his vulnerary, so Colm takes it back. I now suspect that thief is there as a tutorial on "hey Colm can do this too!" Eirika and Gilliam take the thief and Franz the bandit, Franz and Gilliam each leveling up, with Moulder healing Franz.

Franz and Gilliam took the mercenary, then Franz and Eirika the boss, while Colm opened the last two chests and Moulder healed. Franz's two level-ups this mission were both a single point of HP. Sigh. I'm still glad I drafted him, cavaliers are so great to have early.

9 turns, 24 total, and I could have finished in 8 if Franz had not missed one of his attacks on the boss. Which might not have happened if, say, he had gained some skill or speed or something earlier on the level. I shake my fist at thee, RNG!
