The chapter begins with a rush towards the eastern locked door. Colm unlocks it while everyone tries to squeeze through towards Rennac. After pushing through the first couple chokepoints, L'Arachel recruits Rennac just as he unlocks the chest with the Hammerne. After picking the lock on the nearby door, Rennac and Cormag stay behind to receive the incoming Cavalry. Neimi Rescues Eirika to bring her close to the throne while Natasha and Ross lead the charge to Carlyle.
After dispatching everyone that was guarding the throne room, Ross attempts to get a heavy hit on Carlyle with his recently acquired Swordreaver, but misses. Neimi picks up the slack with her Short Bow, hoping for a critical hit, while Natasha gets a small, but very unlikely, bit of damage with Shine. Carlyle tries to pick off Eirika with his Wind Sword, but is only successful in damaging her. The next time around Ross's aim is true and a sizable chunk is taken out. Neimi gets one hit, but misses the second. However, Carlyle decides that Neimi would be the best target, deals a very small amount of damage, and then gets killed in the counterattack.
