And the wait for something to happen continues, as now we get another chapter that’s entirely a dream where the Dark One tries to corrupt someone. At least this one shows he’s changed his tactics, as he first tries to convince Perrin to be a pacifist logically, then takes the form of a woman to seduce him into becoming a soldier, all just to mess with his head and make him more suggestible, apparently. Finally he sees a vision of Rand and Mat turning on him due to his wolf abilities, and then wakes up upon a wolf warning him “the twisted ones” are coming. And I welcome them at this point.
If we had to get a chapter that’s all just a dream, at least it’s a very well-written one, probably the best yet at capturing what dreams feel like, and with the Dark One taking a quite neat strategy to break Perrin’s will after using brute force has failed so many times. And now, something happens, I hope.
