This just wasn't Sorens night, it seems...

Probably caused by the late-night attack. Darn Disciples, and their ability to materialize in thin air...

Chapter 4-1 - Road to Empire: Finished.

Ike: Now a Vanguard, he was absolutely unstoppable. He took over the guard of the front entrance, and smacked down anyone who tried to enter through there, waiting until enemies stopped coming to him before he went off to hunt the remaining forces down. Alongside the rest of the party members, he then cleared out the remainder of the enemies waiting in the dark.

Mist & Jill: Took care of the western defenses, Mist flushed out the enemies with a Torch Staff, and Jill flew over the wall to take them down. After one of the sandbags fell, Mist joined Jill in taking down the stream of foes, and also took out a swordmaster who warped in behind our lines. Once the main influx of foes was done with and all of the reinforcements stopped warping in, the two headed down the path to find any hidden foes, taking down anyone they found along the way, and then joined up with Ike and Soren to finish off the remaining Disciples. Mist took down Catalena once all was said and done, and thus ended the chapter.

Soren: Covered Ena and the eastern defenses, and had a hell of a time with it. He actually died on the first attempt of this due to getting really unlucky with the RNG and getting killed by the many generals hits, but the second time around, he was able to scrape along. He took out the generals well enough, but he was always in danger of getting hit, and his below average speed came in to play when a halberdier came in and Soren was unable to finish him off due to being unable to double. Not to mention, when he did try to take down the halberdier, he missed with an 83% and almost died again thanks to the halberdiers attack on his turn. He eventually dealt with all opposition, though a sneaky general was able to get in from above and attack Ena while Soren was busy with other enemies. Soon reinforcements died down, and Ena shifted, leaving Soren free to join the others in taking down the rest of the Disciples.

Catalena: Fought with Mist, and it was a fairly short fight. Mist blasted her with Florete, got hit with a counter, hit Mist on her turn, got countered, and then Mist finished her with a direct hit from a Steel Blade.

Vs Catalena: Mist found herself in an odd state of mind over the course of this fight. The group had been traveling for a while, and just before they were about to rest, these "Disciples of Order" who had apparently also attacked the group Mordecai was in a while back, appeared out of thin air. She was currently stuck between the adrenaline rush and surge of focus that came with combat, and the fatigue everyone was currently experiencing due to their long journey, which threw her off a bit, and made fighting a bit trickier. This certainly wasn't helped by the random appearances of more foes, nor by the fact that they seemed to come in groups, providing them with just enough time to relax a bit before attacking again.

A woman astride a heavily-armored pegasus flew over to her, spear in hand, yelling out some nonsense about unclean souls and vile sins, and Mist took the time to launch a blast from Florete at her, the wave of kinetic force bruising the knights cheek as she pulled her head to the side. She gave her spear a quick flourish before tossing it at Mist in return, and it was avoided fairly well, although Mist suffered a slight cut on her side.

The woman didn't miss a beat though, and had already pulled out another spear by the time Mist had readied for another strike, the attack came, and she took a larger gash in her off hand so that she could counter with another strike from Florete, this one slamming into the womans stomach and leaving her visibly winded. Mist sheathed Florete, and pulled out a Steel Blade to finish this fight, charging forward and driving her sword into the womans chest.

Up Next: Aran must now take on the second most obnoxious character in this game by himself, although Tibarn will assist him.

Comment Question: Have you ever went through a chapter where a character who is normally reliable and awesome seems to be having an off day?

Ironically enough, the first time I played 4-P, Naesela just kept getting hit half the time instead of evading anything and everything like he usually does. And he never activated Tear even once.
