Laverton doesn't take an axe to the skull nearly as gracefully as Kieran does.

Of course in this case, it was a Hammer, but the point still stands.

Chapter 6-2 part 2: Finished.

Aran: Headed west and fought off the horde of cavaliers as they bombarded him with ranged weapons, until he had hunted them all down and crushed them. He then stepped forward, wasted some ballista shots since they couldn't do a thing to him, and then headed back to the bridge to guard it with Tauroneo after the final wave of cavaliers rode in. He summarily hunted them down as well, while Jill and Laura dealt with the boss.

Jill: Went north to save the Marado knights, and saved all but one of the hostages, who was killed immediately after the cavalier who rescued her was killed. She fought off the assailants, suffering some serious injuries in the process, but being healed enough by Laura to keep fighting. She then took down the mages who straggled towards her, and finally killed a group of cavalier reinforcements soon after they entered the field.

Laura: Went with Jill to the north, where she healed her whenever she could. Jill got injured multiple times as she fought off many enemies, and Laura made sure she had enough health to defeat them. Once all the foes were dead, she and Jill teamed up to take out Laverton.

Laverton: Was lured out by Laura, who got struck by his lackeys javelin, but not his own, and was quickly crushed by a hammer strike by Jill.

VS Laverton: Jill had to admire Lauras bravery, given that she had told Jill she was willing to be used as bait to lure out the enemy commander.

I'm not sure whether this is the right thing to do, but I think Laura knows what she's in for, and I know I can reach her in case anything goes wrong. We just need to trust in each other, and this all should work out in the end. She reminds me somewhat of Mist now that I think of it... I wonder what Mist has been doing for the past three years...

Jill's nostalgia was cut off when she heard hooves beating against the ground, and saw from her alcove just above the river, two men riding forth. One appeared to be the commander, the other likely one of his higher ranked soldiers, as they approached Laura, javelins in hand.

They threw their projectiles at the same time, and while Laura avoided one with a quick sidestep, the other caught her on the shoulder, slicing deeply. She let out a yelp of pain, before she cut herself off and allowed the staff's ambient energy to soothe the wound. Laverton rode forward towards the injured cleric, putting his spear away as he drew closer...

What Laverton likely expected, was to take this young girl captive and use her as a hostage so that he could reenact his plan from the beginning of the battle. Jill knew he had no way of anticipating his subordinates cries of panic as her mount leaped from their waiting spot, charging at the man currently leaning forward to abduct her friend. Laverton was certainly unable to pull out of the way quickly enough to avoid the hammer traveling over forty miles an hour, as it rammed itself into his head. His skull and helm, smashed together into a bloody paste from the force of the blow, were proof enough of that.
