Chapter 2 - The Protected
◊: Finished.
Eirika, Gilliam, Moulder, Vanessa, & Ross: Waited up near the villages at the north end, avoiding most contact with the bandits, and securing the Red Gem and Elixir from the villages. One bandit lost interest in Franz and turned to them though, so Vanessa flow off with Ross, and Gilliam and Eirika protected Moulder.
Seth: Beelined for the southernmost village, snagging the Pure Water and preparing to help Franz if he needed it.
Franz: Took on all of the brigands himself, save one. He ran down, and quickly settled down on a fort, attracting all of the brigands to himself. He fended them off, but it was slow going. They were burly, and he was only able to take them down with three hits worth of effort. Eventually he finished them all off, including the boss.
Bone: Randomly attacked Franz, and continued the trend of misses thanks to the forts evasion boost and Franz' sword. Three curt swings brought down the brute without any real trouble.
Afterwards: Garcia (our next party member) thanks us for our assistance in protecting his son, and Seth recognizes him as a famous soldier from Renais' army. He asks for Garcia's assistance in the war effort, but receives a reply to the negative, Garcia stating that he is in retirement, and wants nothing of war anymore. His fervor for combat had cost him his wife, when she fell ill while he was away, and he only just met his son thereafter. Ross, angered by his fathers words, decides he will join us in his stead. Garcia understands his son's meaning, and decides to join us as well. A villager warns Eirika of Bazba's bandits, a group which has caused a lot of trouble recently, and also states that Renais is doomed, for Ephraim is soon to be overwhelmed by Grado. Eirika has a flashback to a meeting with her brother, and soon finds her bracelet stolen while she is thinking.
Up Next: We chase the thief to Borgo Ridge, where Bazba's Bandits reside, in order to take back Eirika's bracelet.
