I'm surprised swimming works here.

You'd think, so far up here in the mountains, the rivers would either be frozen, and thus universally traversable, or they would be too cold to swim in, and thus impossible to traverse. Not that I'm complaining, but it seems a bit odd.

Chapter 13 - Frozen Land: Finished.

Base: Three new support conversations! Jeorge and Lyra (2) involves Lyra discovering just how clever Jeorge actually is, given that she believes he planned for us to recruit him by first disobeying Lang and thus being put on the castles defense at Chiasmir bridge, and then staying in the open to be easily approachable. He denies this, but notes that, had he truly made those plans, it would have required the Altean army to be equally wise to notice them. In Jake and Lyra (1), Jake brings up Anna's odd business, and asks Lyra for a tip on how to get more customers. She says that it'd be best to make it more advertised, and while Jake agrees on how successful this would be, it can't be done lest the secret shops no longer be secret. Gordin and Jeorge (2) involves Jeorge explaining to Gordin what his fatal flaw is; his openness and modesty, which makes him approachable and kind, also make him easily influenced, and thus damages his self-confidence, preventing him from reaching his full potential. If he can get past the issues of esteem, Jeorge believes Gordin can surpass any archer, including himself. How's Everyone yields three Toy bows, all from different people, and the only inventory stuff is equipping the possible new party member, Robert, with some weapons and the Pisces Starshard.

Marth: Circled around the map to recruit Beck (who won't be joining the party), and then grabbed the treasure, a spirit dust and a wyrmslayer. He then seized, using his swimming skills to cross the rivers and save on time.

Lyra, Ryan, Warren, & Robert: Headed northwest, protecting Marth as he recruited Beck, and trying to keep him safe from harm. The fended off a few ice dragons, some wyverns, and a few ice clansmen, but didn't meet too much resistance until they recruited Beck, where they took the fight to the enemies. Lyra and Ryan used their swimming ability to cross the river and join the other snipers in cleaning up the final group of foes surrounding the leader. The others circled around, and fought off some reinforcements that spawned.

Gordin, Norne, Horace, Jake, & Jeorge: Took care of the northeastern area, and met a hefty amount of resistance from wyverns, ice dragons, and the ice clansmen. They pushed through fairly smoothly, but it took time, and Jake and Horace were forced to walk around the long bend while the snipers swam across the rivers. They dealt with reinforcements as they trekked around, dealing with them fairly quickly, while the other three cleaned up the central area.

Savage Ice Dragon Guardian: Slain through a collective effort by Jeorge, Jake, Ryan, and Warren, the latter most being the one who finished the beast.

Afterward: Xane explains the relevance of the Binding Shield in relation to the orbs, and we are informed by Jagen that an ally is being assailed in the midst of a blizzard...

Up Next: White Darkness, where we defeat another assassin, and face an annoying fog of war chapter.

Hey, these people can stare down dragons and fight through hundreds of Barbarians and Sages. I think they can take some nippy water. That does make me wonder if rivers that sap your health would be feasible in this sort of game.

True, these guys are likely made of some hardier stock than most. I'm sort of curious about that too, sort of making it a voluntary trap tile; it deals damage to you, but you can cross through it for a shortcut.
