Whoa, that's a hell of a hat you gave to me, Ymir!

Seems less like an animal skin hat, and more like Ymir just straight up ripped off a wolf's head and told me to wear it. The thing's pretty big for just animal skin, but whatever, it's awesome, and that's what counts.

Chapter 22 - Dragon's Altar: Finished.

Base: One new conversation to be had, in Wolf and Lyra (2). Wolf apologizes for his rudeness the other day when they spoke, and pays his personal deference to the strength that she possesses. Lyra is a bit uneasy about this, but Wolf recognizes their similarities, having honed their strength for the sake of their liege. Wolf then asks Lyra if Marth, who he had been told seized Archanea in a bid for power, was a good liege to follow, and Lyra denies those claims. They agree that neither knows much about each others lieges, and thus they should enlighten each other abut the truth of those they chose to follow. How's Everyone yields a Luck and Res boost for Robert, and a quick bow. Inventory wise, not much is changed, though Robert is given every one of the Spirit Dusts, and so we begin.

Marth: Snagged the treasure chests whenever the foes weren't around to guard them, gaining a wyrmslayer and dragonpike for the party. He also used his convoy abilities to provide weapons and vulneraries to the army, because they needed all the extra supplies they could get, since dragons and mages hit hard.

Horace, Norne, Robert, & Jeorge: Took care of the bottom reinforcements to start out, also accepting some help from Nagi, who is guest starring in this chapter. They split into two pairs to cover each side, the former pair taking the west while the latter two took the east, with Nagi tagging along. Once their reinforcements ran out, they charged north to assist...

Jake, Wolf, Sheema, & Warren: Took care of the central enemy reinforcements, which were fiercer than the earlier set, due to a sorcerer being mixed in rather than a mage dragon. Thankfully, Horace's group ran out of foes at just the right time, and they charged forward to save them before they were overrun by the enemies, since everyone was nearing the breaking point and wouldn't have been able to face the sorcerers without risking death. The enemy offensive was staved off, and Robert, Horace, Jake, Jeorge, and Norne all ran north to prepare for the final assault alongside...

Lyra, Gordin, & Ryan: Took the top area by storm, easily dispatching the predictable and relatively weak northernmost reinforcements, and then cleaning up the forces outside of the main throne room. Once all foes were dead, they waited for those who were coming to assist them, as well as Marth. Once they all reached there, Marth handed a longbow to Norne, and everyone lined up near the western door, save for Horace, Lyra, and Jeorge. Ryan used a key to unlock the western door, and the party picked off anyone near to the walls enough to be shot down, as well as Norne picking off one of the meteor sorcerers before they could snipe us. Once that ended, the enemies came in force, and a bit of luck saved Jake's hide from a pair of Glower sorcerers. We then took the fight to them, and pushed through the last of their guards, leaving only the boss left.

Savage Mage Dragon Guardian: Robert took this fight, using his wyrmslayer to bring down the mighty beast quickly, and allowing Marth to seize.

Afterward: We find stairs leading further into the temple, and ascend them towards Gharnef! Also, Lyra removes her cap. It's nice, but I like the bishop hat better on her.

Up Next: We slay Gharnef, dark pontifex and wielder of Imhullu, for the final time!

Also: Sorry for the sheer lateness of the update. School stuff (and also some Awakening, I will admit) has been keeping me busy, and I haven't had the time to do one of these writeups. I'll try to get them out more consistently, though I sadly can't make any promises.

Fun fact: In Old Mystery, these last three chapters are all called "The Dragon's Altar" as they were three parts to one final chapter.

More fun facts: Awakening localized "The Dragon's Altar" as "The Dragon's Table".

EDIT: Not the Japanese version! This game doesn't have an English version! Derp on my end!

Oh, so it was a multi-part chapter? That's pretty cool.

Y'know, these places do look pretty similar, now that I think of it...
