Just two more steps, and the run will reach it's true starting point!

First chapters two and three must be cleared, but it will happen soon enough. We will recruit another bowmen, and two people who may or may not be reclassed, but will be helping the party in their fight.

Chapter 2 - Pirates of Galder: Finished.

Marth: recruited Darros, as well as the usual business.

Ogma: Joined Abel and Caida on the frontlines covering the two archers, and is a likely reclassing candidate.

Barst: headed up the bridge near the start, kicked the crap out of everyone there save Darros, and then just sort of chilled. Another possible reclassing candidate.

Abel & Caeda: Took care of the frontlines, covering the archers against the first wave of enemies, and then softening up foes for them to finish when they took to the offensive. Caeda recruits Castor along the way, and he assists them in pushing through the last few enemies.

Castor: The worlds saddest hunter, his perpetual frown seems like it'll be grating in the long term. I may use Wolf and Sedgar as an excuse to drop him later, since their Horsemen base class is a promotion of his hunter class, and thus fulfills the "use at least one unit who starts as a base bowmen" criteria. Mind, that's undecided, but I admit that the kid is a bit sad to look at... I'd prefer to let him go on home to help his sick mother. Still, he'll help in fighting the enemies up until at least chapter 4.

Gordin & Norne: Took care of ranged offense (obviously) behind Ogma and the others. They whittled away at units, but were unable to really take out any foes on their own.

Gomer: A tougher nut to crack than the previous boss, his hand axe is surprisingly dangerous, and he's far faster than one would expect. Gordin picked away at him a bit before he was too wounded to safely continue, and Norne and Castor did the same. Gordin then healed, and teamed up with Ogma to knock this pirate down a peg, although Abel needed to run in for a quick save to avoid catastrophe at the very end of the fight.

I love this chapters title.

Chapter 3 - A Brush in the Teeth: Finished.

Marth: Did Marth related things.

Ogma, Caeda, & Castor: Headed north to where Julian and Lena are coming from to recruit Navarre (an assured reclassed unit) and defeat all of his mooks. Caeda talks Navarre into joining us, and then he, Castor, and Ogma slaughter the lot of these goons.

Ogma & Navarre: After slaying Navarre's old employers, they run over to the group heading towards Hyman to assist them in taking down the boss.

Abel, Gordin, & Norne: Headed west, traveling through the mountain ranges and fairly smoothly beating the enemies who came their way. All that was left after the slow dismantling of the foes was the boss.

Hyman: A super fast sumbitch. Seriously, this dude packs 14 speed, and only loses 1 attack speed from his hand axe, so he's still faster than everyone in my army. Thankfully, his hit and avoid are overall bad, so Navarre and Ogma make quick work of him.

Levels: Suggested by a reader, I'll try to keep up to date on the levels of the units on a regular basis, as well as small little reports about them from time to time, saving interludes for their stats as well as more detailed reviews.

  • Potential Reclassers - Ogma 6, Barst 4, Caeda 1, Abel 6.
  • Assured Reclasser - Navarre (Archer growths are basically the same as myrmidon growths, so he's gonna be a scary dude) 5.
  • Current archers - Gordin 8, Norne 6, Castor 4.

Actual comments will come after I form up a more compact, set party in the next chapter.

Up Next: We gain the power of reclassing, meaning our party will now consist solely of bowmen. It also means I'm gonna need to sacrifice a lot of my people to get the Gaiden chapters.

If what you say about Archer growths are true, yeah, Nabarl will be a scary dude.

A question: Are you going to use any of the gaiden chapter characters? Athena would probably fit as an Archer just like Nabarl, being a myrm and all.

I'll be honest here, I am afraid that you might be getting a bit too used to having the non-bow guys to fall back on. I hope this doesn't become a problem.

Yeah, Archers actually have a higher inherent speed and defense growth by 5%, but lose out on 10% hp. Nothing too major.

I may use some of them, and I'm pretty much required to use Ymir since he is the only warrior I can think of. I plan on going to all of the Gaiden chapters, so there isn't too much fear of missing out on them.

No need to fear, since I've actually done this before, although I allowed for a healer and all of the things that that provides, so the other run was much less restrictive. The transition is always rough, and I admit that until I get Sedgar and Wolf, things will be shaky, but I'm sure I'll be able to pull through with some effort.
