I quite like this chapters unique win condition, but I wish it took more kills in the higher difficulties, since otherwise it's pretty much impossible to reach some of the further Dawn Brigade members to fight them, since the Other Units are either dying or killing people, and thus adding many kills to the counter.
Chapter 3-E - From Pain, Awakening: Finished.
Party: Stuck together throughout the whole thing, Ike lagged behind the group and took care of any threatening stragglers, while Mist kept everyone healthy, Soren provided ranged cover against the sturdier foes, and Mordecai and Jill took to the front and held of the majority of the enemies. They pushed forward, and I had Mordecai recruit Zihark, who I had given a few spare tomes (Blizzard, Tornado, and Thoron), so that he could give them to Soren. Sadly, Soren couldn't make use of the Blizzard tome, as he never go close enough to Pelleas to blast him get the conversation. Jill did have time to fly over to Aran, and the two of them had a short-lived fight, until the kill count was reached, and they were unable to finish it.
Aran: Fought Jill, the two of them traded blows for the first turn, and then on the enemy phase, he Canceled Jill's attack and Laura healed him. The Other Units reached the kill count by the end of this turn, so the fight was left unfinished
Vs Aran: Jill flew over to the small opening in the forest, hoping to reason with Micaiah and end this as quickly as possible, when she saw someone she had truly hoped to avoid. Aran, standing at the entrance, waiting for anyone to attempt to reach those behind him.
"Well, this is quite the troublesome spot we're in, isn't it Jill?"
"Yes, I would have really preferred to avoid this situation, but it seems like that couldn't happen."
"Jill, I'd like to say that I can see your side of the issue here, but I really can't. I don't have your world experience. Daein is all I know, and even if it means facing you, I will fight to protect it."
"I care for Daein as well, Aran. That is why I must see Micaiah, so that I can try to reason with her!"
"It won't work Jill. Micaiah left a while ago along with Sothe, for one reason or another."
"Micaiah... left? She just walked away from the battle?"
"Yeah. Mumbled something about someone calling to her and just walked off, with Sothe trailing behind her... You know, if we just keep talking like this, fighting will get harder and harder. How about we get this out of the way?"
"Very well. Hold nothing back!"
The two charged, weapons clashing as they attempted to gain momentum. Jill's wyvern gave her the strength advantage, but Aran seemed immovable, and didn't budge an inch whenever one of her strikes connected with his shield or armor. His spear meanwhile pushed forth, striking shallow cuts in her side, or facing a fierce defense as the claws of her mount batted away his lance and lashed out at him. As they continued their duel, Jill succeeded in making a powerful slice into Arans shoulder, weakening his grip on his shield, but bringing her close enough for him to strike her in the arm. Aran followed up by sweeping his lance across the snout of Jill's wyvern, forcing the creature back and preventing Jill from countering. She saw Laura far behind the lines of troupes, a Physic staff in her hand, healing Aran's wounds, when Jill heard Ike yell to Soren to take over, and she turned to see him carrying Mist away from the battle. Jill flew back, forgetting entirely her battle with Aran, as she went to speak with Soren about what had happened. As all of this went on, the battle raged to the east and west, Laguz forces facing down Daein troops, only to stop and turn to the sky. Mordecai had done so himself, and Jill, curious as to what was going on, looked to where he did, just in time to witness what appeared to be a flash of golden light falling upon them...
