I really wouldn't expect MIST to be insecure about her weight

When Ike described that Leanne was about "half as heavy as Mist", she gets all indignant and angry. I find this surprisingly funny, since she is one of the lightest characters in the game.

Chapter 17 - Day Breaks 4: Finished.

Ike: Did very little, except get shot at by horse-archers near the end of the chapter, and stay off to the side for the rest of the time.

Soren, Stefan, Mordecai & Mist: Stuck together the whole time (though to be fair the chapter was fairly short), they headed south and fought off the hordes of foes in the area, from the opening fighters and myrmidons, to the platoons of horsemen and armor-knights that they met in the center of the U-shaped forest bend. They all had their fair share, and when the horse-archers showed up, Everyone but Mist went to take them down, joining the birds in doing so. Mist meanwhile ran across the swamp to heal Jill with a Physic before she killed Oliver.

Jill: Flew over the bend entirely, assaulting the Meteor mage and his guards before turning her attention to Olivers lackeys. She took out the halberdiers and pegasus knights, and then after the birds showed up, she finished the last of Olivers meat-shields. After that, she flew over to Oliver brandishing the Knight Killer, the only lance capable of stabbing all of Olivers enormous girth.

Oliver: In which case, they fought, Jill taking a pitiful 4 damage from Oliver's Nosferatu tome, while she killed him in two strikes from her lance.

VS Oliver: When she had met the group on their ship, she had chased them for a month out of pride, and the need to impress her father. As she joined them on their travels, knowing she couldn't return to Daein yet, she had gotten to know the exceedingly kind Mordecai, a "Sub-Human" who should only have wanted to rip her apart, and formed a friendship with the sister of the mercenary leader she was supposed to be hunting.

Before they had entered the forest, Ike had asked Jill why she was still with them, and Jill had explained herself; what she had learned from her family, teachers and peers, and had believed all throughout her life, and what she had seen for herself with her own two eyes, were completely different. She stayed so that she could learn the truth, and she had found it.

As they traveled through the forest, they searched fervently for a heron who was thought to be the last of his kind. They also hunted for Oliver, the man who had attempted to enslave the heron, and had come across another one in their search, a miracle that none of them had expected.

As she stepped forward, lance at the ready to face the man they had hunted, she knew she had found her answer. Laguz and Beorc couldn't be painted in such a simple stroke as she had been taught, but she had been right about one thing. There really were things in this world that were "sub-human", and the man before her, who had tried to kill her and her friends, and attempted to claim possession of a living being, was the perfect example.

The man gave a final shout about beauty, apparently not having gotten sick of his endless talk about it, and Jill flew forward, driving her spear forward into the mans side, slicing deeply, but missing anything important. He shouted the spell incantation as he stepped back, and Jill felt a small amount of energy being drained from her, as the mans wound closed slightly. Jill ignored the small shot of pain, and finished off the "saint" who they had searched through this long-dead forest for with a thrust that tore straight through his chest.

Comment Question: What did you think of this somewhat more introspective VS Section? I noticed that a lot of Jills development congregated around this part, so I decided to fit it into this one, since it would work as a sort of final nail in Jill's character development.

Up Next: The beginning of what I like to call the "Daein March" arc of the game, and the point when Ike finally class changes and can rejoin the fray!
