Time to get our final party in place. I've decided that I'm going to take Ceodore, Rydia, Edge, Porom and Golbez. After setting my party up, we head down to B16.

Everything is silent. No music. And everything looks more mechanical. Like some kind of ruined space station. We're now getting encounters with stuff such as... floating robot body parts, and everything plays the boss music.

The path is completely linear all the way through to B18. The path splits here. The east path takes us to a teleporter that takes us to the Lunar Helm, the west path goes onwards.

More linearity and nothingness until B20. A Save Point and Interdimensional Elevator are here. We heal and continue onwards to see one of the Mysterious Girls.

Ceodore: Y-you...!

Edge: We've finally found you!

Porom: We finally meet again!

Rydia: Where is Bahamut!?

Golbez: (Is this just another copy?)

Mysterious Girl: I had not anticipated that you'd make it to this point. But the world that lies ahead has no place for you. It is time for you to disappear... under the force of a power you know all too well!

She summons Bahamut.

Rydia: Bahamut...!

Ceodore: That... that's Bahamut, Hallowed Father of the Eidolons!

Porom: R-Rydia...!

Edge: Heh heh... Haven't seen you in a while!

Golbez: Is Bahamut under her complete control?

Mysterious Girl: Go, Bahamut! Go forth and obliterate them!

First things first, if Rydia is not in your party, your entire party gets hit with a Megaflare for max damage at the very start, game over. So we need Rydia. If she's in your party, we instead start with the Mysterious Girl casting Meteor. Annoying but manageable.

Second thing, Reflect does not work, the Mysterious Girl will always use Black Hole just before Megaflare goes off. So don't bother. Float should probably be established after every Megaflare, though, as the Mysterious Girl can cast Quake.

The main target in this battle is Bahamut. The Mysterious Girl is immune to attacks and does nothing but pelt spells at you. And sometimes counter Slow landing on Bahamut with Haste. Bahamut's the same as he was in FFIV, count down from 5 then Megaflare.

Without Reflect, we basically have to just heap on as much damage as possible. Megaflare is survivable, but obviously, we want this fight done ASAP. Also, do not do this fight when Black Magic is boosted. As my first attempt would show you, that is a very bad idea.

After a while...

Rydia: Bahamut! It's me! Please, you must remember!

Bahamut: ...

Rydia: Bahamut!

Queen: Bahamut!

Asura appears before us. It should be noted that this only happens if you got both Asura and Leviathan, otherwise it's a fight to the death.

Bahamut: ...

Queen: This moon is not the one to which you belong!

Mysterious girl: You waste your time!

Bahamut: ...

Bahamut Megaflares Asura.

Rydia: Your Majesty!

She fades, and Leviathan takes her place.

Eidolon King: Bahamut!

Rydia: Your Highness!

Eidolon King: If he remains under her control, then we have no choice!

Leviathan unleashes a tidal wave. Bahamut shakes a little bit.

Bahamut: ...

He counters with Megaflare.

Rydia: Your Majesty!

He fades too.

Mysterious Girl: Now! Finish them off!

She uses Black Hole.

Bahamut: ...

Mysterious Girl: What?

He casts Megaflare... on the Mysterious Girl.

Mysterious Girl: No... No!

Bahamut: You dared to believe you had rule over our Eidolons?

Mysterious Girl: What?

Bahamut: My Eidolons are much more than mere pawns of power! Does the true light reside within you? Bahamut, Father of all Eidolons, shall deliver your final judgment!

He prepares another Megaflare.

Mysterious Girl: R-Reflect...

Bahamut: You waste your breath!

He casts it on her, killing her. Fucking owned, mysterious bitch.

Rydia: ...Bahamut!

Bahamut: Rydia... We Eidolons shall be with you always!

Battle ends, Rydia learns Bahamut, we're all good here.

Ceodore: Amazing... Bahamut, in the flesh!

Edge: Now all the actors have taken their places... Right, Rydia?

Porom: Rydia! Congratulations!

Golbez: I doubt this is the end. Not like this...

Unfortunately, our party still can't survive Shinryu's opening attack, so we'll leave it there. Next time, we descend the final ten floors.

I am still following. I just got distracted by stuff this week. I would have voted for Porom the last time you asked anyway.

Belated comments: I wonder what would happen if you fought Ultros with an all female party?

Also Edward is still the smartest man on the planet and Edge apparantly is similar to the pervert Octopus. How nice.

Well, the first half of the Ultros fight would be even easier but as the second half doesn't have that special "counter only men" thing, it would be about the same.
