Well, before we start this Challenge Dungeon, We've got some Bands to learn. We've lost Cross Slash, but Kain and Ceodore can combine their Attacks to get Cross Slash Prime, which is even better. For the other Bands, Analyze and Aim becomes X Chaser, which has Cid point out a lot of points for Rosa to shoot full of arrows, Jump and Rosa's White Magic becomes Saint Dive, which hits every enemy for a lot of damage, Jump and Analyze becomes Aiming Trust, which can instant KO, Ceodore's White Magic and Blessing becomes Divine Heal, which heals and can also buff dependant on moon phase, and finally Ceodore's Attack and Analyze becomes Rocket Launcher, which is a pretty powerful attack.
Finally, before we go in, let's get Rosa and Cid to about level 35. As we grind, Ceodore learns Reflect and Rosa learns Dispel and Haste. Finally, we buy a bunch of Cottages.
Challengingway's in the Baron Inn this time around. This one's a simple dungeon crawl.
We start in some kind of castle. First chest is trapped with an Adamantite Golem. With the extra levels and party members behind us, he falls a lot quicker that he did in Ceodore's CD. And from winning, we get a chunk of Adamantite.
We find a Protect Staff in a secret path, which might be useful later, then head inside the castle. Following the path to the left gets us an Ice Shield, and the path to the right gets us a Golden Apple and Ice Armor. Ceodore learns Haste as we go upstairs and find Angel Arrows. We then leave the castle and head north and around to go down a well and find an Ogrekiller.
We can't climb back up, but there's a pit here, so down we go into the underground portion of this dungeon. We go around the upper layer and head left when that layer forks to find a Diamond Armlet. We then backtrack a bit to some stairs to the lower layer and head to the next room.
There's a Save Point after the spiral path here, we need it. We backtrack a little past that to get on the other spiral path in this room. This takes us back to the previous room, where we find a Gold Hairpin.
Back at the Save Point, we rest until Waning Moon and head north. The boss is here. The Curse Dragon can hit hard twice per turn or cast some strong Fire elemental spells. He can use Curse as well, which is not very good for us. We Haste Kain, Slow the dragon and start attacking like mad.
After we shave off 10000 HP...
I... will not be destroyed... I... am invincible!
He becomes a skeleton, and gets a lot worse. It counters everything with instant kills or Doom or Firaga, none of which are very good things. He's pretty hard now. What we want to do is basically spam Jump and have the others try and keep themselves from dying.
We win, time to get our reward...
The Sledgehammer. Not bad, although Cid has to take off the shield I gave him with the Ogrekiller to use it.
Aside from that and the Adamantite (Yes, there's two Adamantites in this CD), there's a Diamond Shield, Helm, Armor and Gloves up for grabs, as well as another Flan Ring, a Luminous Robe, an Obelisk, a Demon Slayer, an Elfin Bow, and... another Lustful Lali-Ho. I still don't know why that item exists in the first place.
Well, before the next tale starts, we'll get all of that stuff and try to get everyone to level 50. See you then.
