With the help of the rest of the gang, Sly attempted to sneak up to the vault but ended being discovered by Dr. M, who mistaken Sly for Sly's father — Sly ended up in the hands of one of Dr. M's monster — but then Miss Fox show up and saved him. The cane went flying — and end up on buoy while Miss Fox was chased by the monster.
The Guru used sharks to eat the electric buoy freeing the cane — but making it land in water. After doing some craws — Dimitri had to do battle with one of Dr. M's monsters, though Dr. M get the cane. After Penelope use her modified RC car to knock off drones and get their energy - so can overload a control tower.
Sly took the sky - and limited the turrets, wreck the shield mutants, and then face Dr. M in his robotic whale ship. He recovered the cane - and after learning that Dr. M worked with Mc Sweety and Sly's father — open the Cooper Vault. Sly travel the trips and trick of his ancestors starting with his founder of Cooper Clan, Slytunkham II, all the way to his own father. At this point, Sly was confused — as Sly father's move was not in the "Theivius Racoonus" — until he saw the blue Master Theives aura — and did a jump on to — revealing his father had modified the Rail Slide to work on lasers. As Sly stated, "Nice work, dad."
Meanwhile, Bentley and Murray fight off Dr. M and his forces — but as Dr. M said, "It was a meanless". Dr. M had planted a tracking device on the cane — and with the that help — he can past though the gauntlet with ease. Meanwhile, Miss Fox limited the monster and found some hole that allow her to swim to Slythunkham II sector. At this point, Dr. M was at the "Otto Van Cooper" sector.
Sly had Dr. M had a fight in the Inner Area of the Cooper Vault until Miss Fox show — which end up with Sly landing high on some kind of platform. Miss Fox give Dr. M a few electric bast of her shock pistols. Then he after discover that Sly had amnesia, Miss Fox lied like a thief — and stated that Sly is her partner. They slipped out a back door — and out a hole that some how Dr. M drilled into — but had forgotten about — leaving behind his cane and his pack — with the "Theivius Racoonus" in it.
Bentley arrived to see that Dr. M was just standing there is shock — Murray got him and Penelope out there in time as they watched the end of Dr. M's fortress. As they travel the island, he collected the rest of the gang — one by one — only to discover Sly was gone — but not the Theivius Racoonus.
Returning home and waited for two months, Murray went back to the guru to complete is Dreamtime training. Meanwhile, Bentley and Penelope started working on restoring the Cooper Vault — making it a tougher nut to crack. As Bentley wrote in the "Theivius Racoonus" — "Time will tell ..... Literary, because I'm being a time machine!"
