It's been about 7 years since the Copper Vault businesses. Bentley and Penelope worked on a top sercet project. Murray want into a racing circuit. With him faking amnesia, Sly decided to hang with Inspector Fox. The raccoon and the fox quickly put the past them.
As time went on, Sly got a itch to steal again. Noting that master thieves always steals from other thieves. It took sometime to find a target: a upstart collector who just opened a new museum but rumors that the collector gotten a fortune in stolen goods.
While he was trying to come up with a plan, he was surprised by his friend, Bentley. Like Sherlock Holmes, Sly knew something was up.
Bentley had lost his girlfriend, Penelope, and discovered that the Thievus Racconus was being erased. Durning one of this slide shows, he showed Sly and Murray the scare story and show that his top sercet was building a time machine. They plan to back in time to set right the time and restore the Cooper Clan history. The time machine needs a object from that time period in order to reach. They goal was steal a samurai dagger from the same museum that Sly was casing.
Before doing it, they called in Dimitri to kept a eye on the "Thevius Racoonus", as it's was the only one they had and created a communication device that allow them to talk to Dimitri, where and when we travel.
Sly took to the rooftops to get to the skylight widow and open it up. Bentley traveled though the sewer to reach the control room and hacked his way though the master computer to shut down the laser protecting he samurai dagger. Murray brawled this way though the back alleys fill with guards in order to reach the wareshouse to shut down the alarm.
Just as Sly grabbed the samaruai dagger, I give you three guessess who show up and the first two don't count.......

The answer is Inspector Camelita Fox, which took Sly surprised! He escape the gaurds and brought the dagger to the Cooper Van were he on Bentley's order place into the time machine's receptacle. Murray punched the van and the gang went into the time stream.
