Our sea voyage has been pleasant thus far. Canas and Bartre are getting along well; it's an odd friendship, but Canas has given him a book on arcane combat techniques. He seems more accurate with his swings now.

By the light of the setting sun, I watch Hector and Lyn. They speak of their lost parents...I feel guilty, eavesdropping on their private pain, and quietly slip away.

Soon enough, an event occurs to break me out of my mood. Captain Fargus' mate, Dart, waves us over to a girl hauled out of the sea. It's Ninian! She doesn't seem right in the head though.

While we attempt to talk to her, a crash suddenly rocks the ship. We're under attack! By who? Vessels are closing in fast, showing colors Fargus says he can't identify. They are bold indeed to hunt prey of this nature.

Eliwood volunteers us to fight off the boarding party while Fargus and his crew man the ship. As they approach I notice a large party of mages. We're in a perilous situation here...I would ask Canas for his assistance, but he's been violently seasick for a day now; Serra's tending to him, though I wonder if such care might annoy him to death. With Eliwood guarding the near-comatose Ninian and Marcus and Oswin bailing water belowdecks, that leaves the rest of us to fend off this attack. We'll strike for their leader to end this swiftly.

Hector: Weakens a mercenary from the northeast boarding plank for Lyn, then takes a hand axe from Florina to topple a pegasus knight from her perch. Blocks the north plank while Lyn heals, getting a red gem in the process.

Lyn: Teams up with Hector to take out the first and second boarders, collecting a longsword. Counterstrikes a pegasus knight but takes another wound. Criticals the final mercenary after healing.

Bartre: Takes the vanguard, casually dispatching a shaman as he walks toward the west boarding plank. Cripples a pegasus knight for Guy to finish. Kills a shaman and weakens another on defense, but finally takes a couple of heavy hits and has to heal up. Closes the other hatch while doing so.

Guy: Like Canas, he's feeling a bit under the weather, but Matthew's promised to watch his back. Finishes a pegasus knight and shaman left by Bartre, picking up an odd ring on the way. Criticals the enemy captain, a black-hooded figure who arrogantly proclaims him of no concern—until he dies with a surprised look on his face.

Matthew: Steals a shaman's pure water; the infuriated wizard doesn't notice the hand axe whirling toward him until too late. Closes a hatch on the enemy ship to prevent reinforcements. Steals an odd magical artifact, a "speedwing", from the opposing leader, Zoldam, as Guy criticals him.

Florina: Buys four more vulneraries and three new hand axes for delivery to Hector, then retreats to the west to block the hatch Matthew has just vacated.

5 turns. I was going to start an MVP category like Jonnas, but everyone did something important here.

Congratz on the quick finish, and I really am liking the way you're writing this.

Also, I think what slowed me down in this chapter was that I had Matt buy the items, and thus he had to go unload them on Merlinus, eating up a turn.
