So, now that we have Fusoya, we could go back down to Earth and begin the endgame. But, there's one sidequest open to us on the moon, and that would be the Lair of the Father.

From where we parked the Whale, we fly east to a small cave on the edge of the map. The enemies here are murder at this point. Bonus Dungeons in this game are hard. Rydia learns Firaga soon after entry.

Scattered around the place are chests for the Genji equipment, really good defensive gear. Edge will equip what he can, the rest is Cecil's. Extra Attack be damned, Evasion be damned, Edge needs Defence if he wants to survive in the front row.

On B2, we encounter one of the biggest pains of this dungeon, the Behemoth. The Behemoth is a counter attacker, and his counters hurt. To minimise the problem, we get Blink (the next two physicals directed at that character will miss) up on everyone. Oh, and it has good defence. It will take my party roughtly 23 attacks to kill it. With brutal counters trying to hit us every step of the way.

Once we win against the first one, we Teleport out and heal up, because on B3, there's two more of these bastards. The key here is playing defensively, it doesn't matter what's going on, if Blink wears off YOU DON'T ATTACK UNTIL IT'S BACK UP ON EVERYONE.

We reach the end of the dungeon, where a man is waiting for us.

Bahamut: You have won Leviathan over. But that proves nothing. I, Bahamut, Hallowed Father of the Eidolons, shall decree the final judgment!

Bahamut transforms into the huge dragon we all know, and the fight begins. He'll just keep counting down to Megaflare, which can be Reflected, so all we have to do is put Reflect up on everybody. Once that's done, we can feel free to wail on him until he dies.

Bahamut: Your spirit and strength are worthy indeed. Rydia, summon me as you wish.

And so Rydia learns Bahamut, and her version of Megaflare can't be Reflected. Might have something to do with Bahamut teleporting the enemy into outer space first.

Next time, we go back to Earth to stop Zemus and Golbez from killing everything.
