Let us descend further into the Ruins.

From Yang's Trial, we can now enter the dungeon proper. We start with Floors of Remembrance, floors that mimic other areas from the game. The weak enemies from that area tend to show up in tandem with new enemies.

Annoyingly for me, the Chocobo Forest floor, which has no encounters and free MP healing comes first in this run through.

We finally find a floor that looks like Yang's trial, but with Edward's theme playing. Let's go in.

We see Damcyan Castle, but now frozen in ice. What the... It looks like the sand is frozen too. That's just strange.

Edward: Is this...? Damcyan Castle!? What is going on?

...Hel...

Edward: ? The voice was coming from somewhere over there...

We head inside and find a harp.

Edward: This... This is...

We get the Requiem Harp.

Help... me...

A spirit appears.

Edward: Whoa!

Help...

We engage battle with an Apparition. Cecil gets stab happy, but whenever it dies, it just comes back.

Cecil: This is endless!

And yet Cecil still attacks it. Nobody else does, just Cecil.

Edward: Wait!

Cecil, in a fit of complete stupidity, still attacks, until Edward uses Bardsong. It doesn't work, but then...

Requiem

My soul has been released!

It finally goes away. We have to go around the castle and free every Apparition in this manner.

We clear out the castle, and then another one shows up. We free it, and the screen turns dark blue.

Edward: The air...

Cecil: I feel cold air coming from somewhere!

Edward: Over here!

We descend into a secret underground passage that definitely is not in the real Damcyan. More Apparitions here. For some reason, they have to be killed at least once for Requiem to work.

We reach the end of the passage and a blast of magic hits Edward and knocks him down.

Edward: Whoa!

The Requiem Harp has broken!

???: There are still some alive, I see... That will not do! Enjoy your icy grave!

And we get attacked by Lunar Shiva. Lunar Shiva has absolutely no Defence, and is weak to fire, so she's not much of a threat, even if she can cast her spells on herself to heal up. Edward, however, proves to have the survivability skills of damp paper. She falls easily enough, though, and we get Summon Book LS.

Edward: It's over... Although this may not be our world, I've managed to save Damcyan...

Um, everyone was already dead, Edward. A soul approaches us.

Thank... you...

We get the Harmony Ring.

Edward: Rest in peace...

Cecil: On to the next!

OK, but if you try to stab your way through everything without thinking next time, I'm taking your sword away.

The Harmony Ring's special ability change is to upgrade Bardsong to Chant. Chant casts Protect and Shell on the party. Combine with Edward's insane speed, and we can become invincible in a short period of time.

Next time, well, the next trial.
