It's time for the end. We switch back to Rydia, Cecil, Rosa, Kain and Edge, and head for the Red Moon. Rydia learns Quake on the way to the Crystal Palace.

The back room of the palace contains all eight of the moon's Crystals.

We will guide you to the core.

Magic happens and we land in the Lunar Subterrane. Stop is a very useful spell here, as it stops most of the killer enemies from killing us. There's also lots of good equipment for the five characters I've brought here.

The first chest is behind a secret passage, and is trapped. It contains the Black Garb for Edge. Another secret passage takes us to the next floor.

B2 starts with another trapped chest with the Sage's Staff for Rosa. It makes Aim useless but it has a Spirit buff, so why not?

We follow the path to B3. We find a sword floating in midair. We try to take it...

To the seeker of this blade, I bring death!

The White Dragon attacks us. Not much special at this point, but it counters attacks with Slow, so we Slow him first, and counters summons with Earthquake, so we put Float up. Then we just kill it.

We get the Murasame for winning. Putting it on means we lose the Moonring Blade though, so Edge is now in the front row again. His evasion is 70% anyway, so not like it really matters.

This a dead end though, so we retreat to the beginning of the Subterrane. From there, we head south to the real path.

B2 looks like a dead end, but there's a really a secret passage with a Flame Whip for Rydia in it. Continuing along the past also finds us the first piece of Dragon Equipment for Kain, the Dragon Shield. The Dragon Equipment is strong and resists fire, ice and lightning.

Down to B3. A secret path takes us to the rest of the Dragon Equipment, the Dragon Helm, Dragon Mail and Dragon Gloves.

Next is B4. This area is a lot more open. We follow the path to the indoor section. Here we encounter Li'l Murderers. All they do is cast Libra on themselves to try and trick you into using lightning elemental spells, at which point they kill you. They're easy enough to kill through physicals anyway.

Towards the end of the floor, we encounter a chest guarded by a Behemoth. Same strategy as before. We get the Stardust Rod for winning, which greatly improves Rydia's Intellect.

Onto B5. Rydia learns Break on the way to our first chest of the floor, which contains a Red Dragon and Blue Dragon. This floor is annoying already. We get the first part of the Crystal Equipment for Cecil, the Crystal Shield. The fight is incredibly taxing, so I Teleport out to heal up. When we get back, we head for the indoor section of B5.

We get a Protect Ring here, which I give to Rydia. We then head back outside to another Behemoth chest, containing the Crystal Mail. Another outside section contains two Red Dragons and the Crystal Gloves. Heading back to an indoor section gets us the White Robe for Rosa. Rydia learns Tornado on the way back outdoors where we find another chest with the final piece of Crystal Equipment, the Crystal Helm.

There's a small room down here, nearly at B6, it doesn't have anything important, but we'll be back here later for something important.

On B6, there's an invisible bridge. It takes us to two things. First, another Protect Ring. Second, a path back up to B5, where we find another floating sword.

Those damned by Zemus shall never bear this sword!

We get attacked by Dark Bahamut. Dark Bahamut is EVIL! He starts with Megaflare, dealing 2000+ damage to everyone (except Rydia, who can resist about half of the damage... somehow), then uses Reflect and bounces Flare at you. We need to stay healed, and don't summon, as he counters with another Megaflare. Rydia uses Quake, which still does more damage than any physical attack.

We get the Ragnarok for winning. Even stronger than the Excalibur and boosts Defence and holy elemental. Cecil's Attack is now in the 230s, which is ridiculous. I Teleport back out to restore MP, then head down to just before the invisible bridge. Rydia learns Death on our way back down to that area.

From that area, we take another path to reach the indoor area of B6. We find the Minerva Bustier in here, which either of the ladies can equip for good Defence, but lowered magical stats. I give it to Rydia, as she needs it.

We continue down to B7. There's a save point here, and some bosses. First, we find a lance.

The coveter of the holy lance will perish!

The Plauge Horror attacks us. It casts Doom on all of us, giving us a short amount of time to win. Good thing he also spams Haste on us, which as far as I can tell, doesn't speed up the Doom timer. We completely wreck it.

We get the Holy Lance afterwards. It's holy elemental and has a nice Attack boost.

One more thing, a room with two chests...

We will never bestow upon you the Ribbons protected by sacred force!

We get attacked by two Lunarsaurs. They mainly Reflect Bio at us. Not too much a threat, as they're undead, so Cecil does 9999 damage to them per attack.

Both chests here contain Ribbons, which block most status ailments. I give them to Rosa and Rydia, as everyone else has stronger helms.

That's the end of the first part of this dungeon, so I'll end this update there. Next time, we stop Zemus once and for all.
