Freaking enemy archers, I tell ya, leaving their stuff all over the place. Looks like they were guarding the vending machines. Nothing of note to buy there.

It's the Elven Halls. Not going in there any time soon! This is the stone giant. He can take lots of hits and dish it back... slowly. Like all stone things, he's slow and out runnable, so if you can't beat him, run from him.

Anyway, that's it for the Orcish Mines. Back to the main dungeon cause I don't feel like exploring more of the Lair. Hey, it's Urug, the orc fighter again. He's now laughable thanks to my anti-orc axe.

This, however, looks to be quite ominous. Guess what! Portal time! Looks like we're in a Bailey. This is exactly why I got a crossbow.

Okay, got an extra special gift from Oka today... it's a +6 splint mali of "Yvifroif" {+Blink, rN+}. It allows me to resist evil stuff, blink around like a wizard and +6 PEOPLE! That's an insanely high number!

Other than the piece of armor, it was a pretty boring place. Just lots and lots of orcs with weapons of reaching to kill. Hello again, Erica. Ready to be made into minced meat? Anyway, here's the important part: She has a scimitar of fire, in other words, a blade that can kill hydras! Back to the swamp!

And it's Roxanne again. I'll just ignore her this time since due to the way the Swamp is set up, there's no way to approach her without being constantly picked at by her. Oh hey, it's a bog mummy. These guys come with an assortment of spells, can stun you for a turn by touching you, resist fire along with the other normal mummy stuff, and still having that annoying mummy curse. Behind him is Donald, who has one notable gimmick, the fact that he swims incredibly well... even though he hates the water. Yeah. He also almost always comes with a shield of reflection. This is a good, good thing. What it means is you can reflect conjurations, spells! So useful!

Error this image does not exist. Anyway, these are wisps. Conjurers hate them since they resist everything, swarm, and other than that? Easy to kill. For Dwarf, these guys are nothing. The Swamp Dragon, on the other hand is going to handily kick my ass if I stick around. Good bye!

And if they start appearing en masse, it's good hint you're near the end of the branch. Anyway, I managed to kill one and it left behind a corpse, which means I've now got Swamp Dragon Hide! With this and a scroll of enchant armor, I've got poison resistance!

Anyway, as I found out, swamp dragons can't take a hit, so I just charm them, get them close and then when the charm wears off, take two swips of the axe and move on. Now, why there's a fire drake in the swamp I'll never know. It also kills me...

Eh...

Meh...

Stuff. He technically lasted longer than Demi Fiend but you didn't see him do as much since I didn't want to bother too much with repeated stuff. Yeah, stuff.

Okay, so why did I screw up here? For one, I managed to forget I had a wand of enslavement in my pack that would have pacifized the damn thing. Beyond that, I could have used various trees and enemies as cover. The trees all the more so since if they get lit on fire, they start causing lots of steam due to the nearby water, providing the cover I would have needed to make my get away. Instead, I ran up to it without fire resistance and tried to cave its skull in. Fighting is not always the answer in this game. I can't stress that enough.

Enjoy another one of my off screen adventures? I swear, that Let's Play curse makes me do much worse when I'm actually recording stuff. Really! Anyway, so why do we go down these various branches? For stuff like this. This is a rune of Zot. You need three of these to get into the final area that contains the Orb of Zot. There's various branches, some just have lots of treasure, other branches have just a rune, others still have lots of treasure and a rune, though in that case, you're probably talking about an endgame extra hard branch.

In short, we need these things to win and there's several different branches that contain one, so you by no means have to beat the swamp, you can just grab a rune else where instead. Where else? Oh, that's a question to be answered multiple times in the future.
