Go To

I dismiss Aniole. "I thought we were friends..."

Anyway, there's a bunch of new equipment for my people. Allos and Ivanna get Claymores. Flauros gets a Robe of the Wise. Fersen gets an Ice Chain. Eleanor gets the Earth Garb. Belgger, Allos, Bruno, and Ivanna get Plate Mails. Bruno, Belgger, and Allos get Iron Helms. I give Flauros Elrick's ice wand.

Speaking of Flauros, meet Flauros the priest!

Now that that's over with, let's go to Haena.

Look who it is. We haven't seen Orson in a long time.

"I'll give you credit for making it this far, but I can't let you go any further. Just hand over the Sacred Spear," Orson says.

"I came here to unveil a conspiracy... involving Rictor Lasanti... and the Duke of Felis. Are you aware that, after obtaining the Sacred Spear, he and the Lord of Rananculus intend to rebel against Lodis?"

"Nonsense. Even if it was an order from his father, he wouldn't allow that top happen. He's loyal to the Holy Lodis Empire!"

"That's why I want to speak with him one last time. I want to know if he intends to present the spear to the church or use it for a different purpose. I don't want to fight you. Please stand aside."

"I can't do that. Retreat if you want to, and I won't stop you. But, have you forgotten that I serve only Commander Lasanti?"

Position.

"It's an honor to fight with you, but I won't lose!" Belgger shouts.

This map is actually pretty easy. Most of the enemies have little health and don't do that much damage. This battle is actually a lot harder on the B route. You recruit Orson on that route, so the enemies here have lots of defense and there's a different boss.

Belgger is the one to kill Orson, appropriately enough.

"Belgger, I'd expect nothing less of you," Orson says. "Your skill on the battlefield and leadership ability... it's easy to see why the commander respected you. You're a man of high caliber..."

"That's hardly true. Your archery skills are as impressive as ever. If we had fought one-on-one, I would have lost."

"Maybe so, but that's just a possibility. You won. Go and witness these events with your own eyes, and don't ever look back at those you defeated... good-bye." Orson finally dies. Poor guy.

We get 700 Goth, a Crown of Intellect, the Teleport spell, Forest Boots, Yomogi-U (a sword), and a Thunder Bow.

Belgger stares somewhat dejectedly at the camp fire, as snow falls around him. Cybil walks up to him.

"Will you go after him right away?" she asks.

"Yes. I intend to. But, Cybil... is there something bothering you?"

"...I've been thinking. Belgger, I want you to continue without me."

"Why now, all of a sudden, when we're so close to our destination? Listen. If Rictor knows about the spear, then why would he think it's in our possession? It doesn't make any sense." He pauses. "Besides, I don't think he's merely acting as his father ordered. He must have another reason. I want to know what he's really thinking, and I bet we'll be able to find out where the spear is, too."

She nods. "Of course, I have no intention of abandoning my mission. I leave it in your hands. Understand?"

"I've been wondering... I know you're loyal to the Church of Lodis, but that's not your only reason for being here, is it? You know this island well. Are you from here?"

"I'm not trying to hide anything. You're right. I lost my home town during the Reformation. I was driven from my home, and my parents burned to death before my eyes. I lost everything but my life. Hmph. Don't take it the wrong way. I haven't felt nostalgic for a long time. But, there is one matter I want to look into while I'm on this island."

"If there's something on your mind, then by all means go... but Cybil, be careful."

"Don't worry. I won't be gone long." She walks away.

Two areas open up: Ostorea and Gracula.

I train everyone to level 19.

I'm not going to Gracula, but pretty much it finally finishes up the Glycinia sidequest. You find Glycinia's sister, and I think they make up or something. I don't remember it much.

Since the game is coming to an end, I will announce the things that will happen in the finale:

  • The A ending, and the extra scene from the A+ ending
  • In an addendum, I will put something I've been working on for a few weeks, We Didn't Start The Battle, a tribute to one of my favorite series of all times set to the tune of Billy Joel's "We Didn't Start The Fire." It covers LuCT, MotBQ, and TKoL.

Next time: the beginning of the end at Ostorea!
