The Item World of Items

Back to this Live Blog of Disgaea Afternoon Of Darkness! Woo!

So it seems that to get to the place with the rich people stuff, I need to find a key in the Item World. I've got a nice little item thing that can apparently get me out of there, so that might be useful?

It seems I need an item to get into the Item World, so I hand over a crappy short sword.

There's a tutorial of how the Item World works, but it really doesn't make much sense... I'll get it some day.

This map is really weird, but okay. Just like any other, except more convoluted and with Geo Panels everywhere.

I finish that one off, now to the second. It takes me a few minutes to find the entrance pad, though strangely enough, it's right next to the exit pad.

Since these enemies are all low-level, it's not that hard to beat them. But, this level has a Geo-Symbol that makes some foes invincible. Of course, this doesn't stop me at all. I'm on stage three now.

This one's much flatter than the rest, making it easier, perhaps. However, I'm betting there's some kind of evil secret to this place.

Apparently I subdued a Specialist. They make the weapon better or something. Soon, another bunch of enemies killed. Next level!

This one has a lot of separate land masses, so I can't kill all the enemies. :(

Who cares, I'm heading through the portal to the next area! It's flat, again, and the enemies aren't hard at all. It's done quick.

Since these are really repetitive, I'm going to say what's going on if something notable pops up.

Okay, something notable: I just got a MASSIVE colour combo, netting me 500 points and a huge boost to my Bonus gauge.

At Stage 10, it gets more intense. The music changes, and the enemies are of much higher level. Of course, by "higher" I mean they're at levels 5-7, but still an improvement.

After level 10, I go back to the Castle. Flonne died on one stage, so I bring her back and heal everyone else. I'm really, really rich after all that. I love the Item World now.

I also love the Assembly system thing. I now have shoes available to buy.

I acquired a bunch of Rare items, so I'll go ahead and go inside them, in the Item World. I guess that marks the end of today's update, and I'll be back once I've messed around in the Item World long enough. It's a fun place!

Enjoy! Just watch out that you don't accidentally lose your last person in the Item World, as that can result in a lot of wasted time.

I heard someone describe it as a 'game in and of itself', which I guess is sorta true.

Have you passed at least one 'more expensive items' bill in the Dark Assembly? It's definitely worth it, and with the money from the Item World, you should be able to buy high-grade equipment for ust about everyone.

Also, this is good! Keep it up.

Ooooh, forgot to mention: you actually have to equip the levelled-up item onto Laharl for the first stage. It's nothing big, but can slow you down if he's your top fighter.

No worries, Punchmaster and Aristotle and Socrates can win most levels by themselves.

And yes, I've passed a "more expensive items" bill. It was actually the first one I did, since I really wanted better equipment.

Trying to figure out how to get those color combos are the best part playing in item worlds.

I'd argue making your own Infinity Plus One Sword is the best part, but the color combos are a lot of fun, too.

It's always fun to mess around with scouts and their color change in there.

Funny thing is, it's impossible to make an InfinityPlusOneAxe, since the lefeling up also makes the axe's Hit subtraction increase, beyond that of higher tier axes. Can I attach a Resident with a Hit increaser to it to balance that out?

IIRC, the trick with axes is to use mostly special attacks with them - they always hit. (That might be just for Disgaea 2, though.)
