British Intelligence Office - Undisclosed Location

Meeting In relation to formation of Special Operation Squad 2

Attendance

  • Captain Rex Weller - British Intelligence
  • Colonel Terrence Whitmore - Regimental Commander

"Well Colonel Whitmore, It's nice to see you up and about." The Captain saluted sharply before sitting back down at his desk.

"As am I Rex." The amiable Colonel chuckled a bit after his own salute before slowly taking a seat across from him. He winced a bit before he could get comfortable, something that easily noticed under the Intelligence officer's Hawk-like gaze.

"Not that it's my place to infer, but perhaps you could use a little more time to recover?"

"I thank you for the concern but I'll be fine, I can heal just as well in the office and in bed." He said with a wry grin. "The Germans aren't going to wait after all. Besides I don't plan on doing any front line until we know what's going on anyway."

"Mm, Quite." Rex adjusted his glasses. "Then we might as well get down to business. You said you had a candidate for the squad leader."

"That I did." The Colonel slid a folder across the table and sat back as his companion skimmed through the information.

"Ah, the American who accompanied you on the retrieval mission. Samual "Bull" Fynn," The officer shook his head a little at the nickname. "Engineer... Notable marks across the board...Though this record..." He frowned a bit, catching Whitmore's interest.

"Is there a problem? I can assure you his skills are more then sufficient. After all he did single handedly take out the remnants of the German search squad and get me to safety"

"I'm not questioning his combat ability. It's just Special Operations is going to require more of a delicate hand."

"Okay, I will grant you that he's not exactly... subtle but he's got a strong tactical mind to go with that power. He will get the job done." Whitmore's voice was filled with total confidence, slowly breaking down the Captain's resolve.

"If you really think so then I will have to trust your judgment. I'll gather up what information I can for his first mission." The Colonel smiled brightly as he stood again giving the man a study handshake.

"I'll get him prepared with a squad of his choosing. You won't regret it." Weller looked less than convinced as he glanced back at the dossier and the long list of ordinance related infractions.

"I hope not..."

So yeah, the opening mission is pretty straight forward so I covered it in brief while setting up my 'plot'. I 'm not really gonna cover the team formation but I'll give you a rundown of what I did.

First off I stripped the other engineering characters of their equipment since I'm likely not going to need their services after all. So stocked up on grenades and lockpicks I started to sort through the dossiers.

This is is who I went with. I try to keep a balance of all the classes if I can so I have a diverse set of skills... though if the deaths start to rack up that will have to change. I picked Oz (The Soldier) and Elf (the Scout) because I love their personalities and battle chatter. Abala (the medic) was another personal choice because I really can't stand the French guy, so I REALLY hope Abala's Dharma holds out. Viper (The Sniper) I've never really tried out since my main play through I was the sniper and didn't need one. As for my grenadier I like most of the choices so I started out with Taras but may or may not switch a little way in. Anyway I rambling. Catch you on the first real mission!
