episode 14: play, play

a-ha-ha, u-fu-fu

Tsukasa eighth-notes as she eats cotton candy, and says she loves it, as it's so fluffy and sweet. Kagami tells her she's not a kid anymore, and to slow down when she eats. She takes a piece that got stuck to Tsukasa's nose, and eats it herself. Konata remarks that doing that with another girl is no fun, and wonders why they don't have romance.

with overwhelming hatred

Miyuki asks Kagami if she's not going to play anything. Kagami decides she'll do some goldfish scooping. but as she approaches a spot, the goldfish swim away from it, which she questions. Konata points to that as evidence that they feel she's vicious.

cuteness is hundredfold

Tsukasa points out one that didn't disperse with the others. Kagami catches it, and tears up, as she intends to take really good care of it.

as usual, it ends that way

The girls meet Kuroi-sensei, who notes that they're all together. She heard there was a festival, and decided to go. Konata asks if she came with her boyfriend; she doesn't have one, which confirms Konata's suspicions.

dashing off

Yui runs into them again, and notes that they look like they're having fun. She takes Kuroi to be a really well-endowed girl, but Konata points out that she's a teacher.

slacking at one's job

Yui apologizes for jumping to conclusions. Konata introduces Yui, saying she's a cop. Yui remarks that since it's a festival, she has patrol duty, and in this heat, too. Thing is... she has a mask on the side of her head, and she has a goldfish bag and a couple of yo-yo balloons. Kuroi think she looks like she's having fun.

even if there is time

At home, Tsukasa spaces out in front of the TV, and later, reads a book of some unknown sort. She remarks that normal days of summer vacation are boring because there's nothing to do Kagami scares her by saying that since she can say that, that means she won't be asking to see homework (because she's obviously already done with it).

even though the means are different

Tsukasa's on the (rotary) phone. She later tells Kagami about the conversation. Apparently, Konata doesn't get bored because she plays the games that stack up. Tsukasa thinks she should do something, as well. Kagami thinks that's all well and good, but she should also do her homework.

applauding yourself

Konata announces that her postcard was selected for Comptiq. (I think it was Newtype in the anime.) Kagami sees, and is amazed it got in. Konata becomes gloomy at this, so Kagami says it's amazing because things like that don't happen often. This cheers Konata up. She finds another fun aspect in buying the magazine!

fun

Kagami sees Konata entering a giveaway, and remarks that their problem is the time it takes for stuff to arrive. Konata, however, enjoys that aspect of it, as she has fun entering in the first place, and is made happy again by the arrival of the item. Kagami hates the waiting, but remarks that if you like something, you can find the fun in it.

In the sketch, Kagami doesn't think you can still say you're having fun when it takes 6 months to arrive, as you forget about it.
