Prologue: Welcomes and information

Hello, all who are currently reading this! This is the opening page of what will be the storage place for all my liveblogs of the Fire Emblem series of games. In here, I will be updating chapter by chapter as I play through the games and hopefully make those updates as fun to read as possible!

The next page will be a Table of Contents, since this will eventually get fairly large, and it will make categorizing which games are being covered in which liveblog installments much easier.

Continue forth onto the next page, and hopefully enjoy your time reading!

I always disliked this chapter's requirements for bonus EXP. On the other hand, it makes for good drama and story-telling (or it would, if they showed more closely the horror that this fight actually is)

And then there's Stefan... Worst recruitment ever.

Anyway, now starts what is, plot-wise, my favourite part of Po R (The "Oliver Arc", so to speak). Loved everything about it, from the Bird Tribe politics, to that battle at Serenes Forest. Sure, the most interesting part is outside of the gameplay and of Ike's perspective in general, but details.

Indeed, the Oliver Arc is one of my favorites as well. Day Breaks is a bitch and a half on an Ike Solo though, but that will come up later.

I'm guessing Stefan is "worst recruitment ever" because of how out of nowhere he is? I actually really like him, both as a character and as a unit.

As for the chapter itself, I don't mind the Bonus Experience requirement, though that is mostly because I usually ignore it. I plan on following it from now on to make the chapter more interesting, though I might not have everyone hide in a corner with Stefan in later runs.

Yeah, I was referring to his recruitment, not the character or the unit. While I don't use him much, I like the fact that there's a world-weary branded on the cast, always a refreshing sight. Plus, the theory that he is a direct descendant of the great hero Soan already made it into my headcanon :p

I only learned of his recruitment thanks to a Nintendo Power I read where Path of Radiance was the cover story. His recruitment is pretty counter-intuitive, so I could see why someone might not notice it. It is alluded to in the base by a guy who mentions "strange figures in the northeastern dunes".

As for him being the descendant of Soan, I'm pretty sure that's implied canon, especially since his Japanese name is Soanvalcke. Fun Fact: he is the only character in the game to join with a Mastery Skill.

Oh, so this is the game "Serenes Forest" comes from. I guess when/if I ever get to play it I'll learn why it's significant.

I was wondering, since this is going to be a collection of all your Fire Emblem liveblogging, are you going to link to your draft?

I probably will be including a link to my Draft liveblog in the Table of Contents at some point.
