Our final descent begins. Well, not final, as I need to go through this a couple more times to get some of the other good equipment to spawn, due to the random nature of the floors selected.

The first floor we find is a generic moon dungeon floor. We get the Vishnu Vest for... I think Edward here. the enemies are also trying to beat the crap out of us.

The next floor looks a bit like the Sylph Cave.

Old Man: Young man, listen up! You must not fight the dragon on this floor! If you spot him, you must run! so many have met their end...

I'm not afraid of any old dragon! Besides, I need his bestiary entry. Let's fight it!

Brachioraidos is HARD. First, he'll use Inferno to deal 9999 damage to a character and will start pummelling us with really hard spells and attacks.

After a while, he starts counting down. If we attack him during this time, he goes nuts and wrecks us, if we don't he uses Megaflare.

To put it simply, we're not ready. We're just gonna run from this one. For now.

Next floor is some Babil themed floor.

Black Mage: What's this!? My magic isn't working at all...

White Mage: We can't do this on our own...

Black Mage: We should have brought a warrior with us...

They leave. The thing with this floor is that nearly every encounter is a Proto Deathmask. The idiot white Mage must not know how Reflect works. We find another Ribbon on this floor. Better than Palom's Hypnocrown.

The next floor looks like the bottom of the Lunar Core. This must be the end.

Who's there...? This is my world... Who dares to step into it? Who? I am complete darkness... I am Zeromus, but at the same time, I am not... I am Zeromus EG. It's been a while since I've seen humans... Don't fail to amuse me...

Zeromus EG has most of Zeromus's moves and a bit more. We should cast float to avoid the Earthquake he can use, and he has status effect attacks. He's also the only enemy resistant to Lunar Eidolons. He'll also cast Reflect, but Meteor ignores that. The Lightbringer and Flare Sledgehammer may cause problems, though.

Towards the end, Zeromus EG can use FIVE PHYSICAL ATTACKS A TURN and will counter every move by healing ~3000 HP. This isn't too bad, but still annoying. We eventually win.

You have defeated me... I was unaware of the existence of those strong enough to do so... Now is the time to take a short sleep... I must rest... Farewell...

Then the exit appears. No reward, unless you count the bestiary entry. But still, we're not done with this dungeon...

When I first went up against Zeromus EG I ended up using the Lunar Dragon Book on him to see what it would do...it turned him into a frog. After staring blankly for a few moments I pummeled the crap out of him, achieving a very cheap, but very hilarious victory.

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that while Zeromus EG might be resistant to Lunar Eidolon damage, they do inflict status ailments on him. Lets you return the favour of the Toad-Mini combo he does.
