Rainbow's regeneration is not unique to her. Remember in Feeling Pinkie Keen where twilight has a bunch of objects dropped on her and ends up in a wheelchair and later the same day she's walking around? That king of thing is normal for pre-schism ponies.

Speaking of which, knowledge that magic was more powerful pre-schism is common knowledge, but the details are less so.

Glad that you enjoy political machinations as those are important. You'll get some more solid answers (at least, enough to get by for a while) around chapters four and five.

Eeyup. Dash remembers nothing after hurricane Fluttershy (or even most of the episode itself) even that we know that Dash was there for later events. This is a clue that something more complicated is going on.

Yeah, I really enjoyed this chapter. The King's name will be revealed later. But yeas, one thing I liked was that most of the authorities on both sides of Equestria are relatively decent people overall.
