A boy, a brat, a dashing knight and a drill instructor walk into a tavern... A Clash Of Kings, liveblogged
A Brief Introduction
It's amazing to think that with everything that happens in it, Game of Thrones is actually just one long prologue, and this is where the story really gets going. This is especially clear in the show, where the season one finale was pretty much just a long trailer for season two, with every character getting just one or two scenes to set up what they'll be doing. They even threw in Arya's first scene from the second book!

Rumor is that Christopher Eccleston is playing Stannis. If so, awesome. My personal pick for Melisandre is Mira Furlan; watch that big ring scene from B5: The Gathering and tell me you don't see it.

An excellent recap. Looking forward to the liveblog proper.

Red as a ruby, red as wine, red as blood
AN: I accidentally posted this on the introduction; it's a reply to this chapter.

Have you read the first book? There were a few things in it that weren't covered in the show's first season that might make this a bit tricky to follow.

I've read it, yes. In fact, as I stated in the thread of the series, I'm a little worried that some things might make less sense in light of his different characterization. I can definitely see Eccleston as Stannis.

So, I at first failed to realize there was a second entry, but now I have read it!

O sister, were art thou?
It was definitely the right choice moving that Arya chapter to season one of the show, giving her a more concrete sendoff into season two.

And so begins Sansa's being Rescued From The Scrappy Heap, simply by virtue of how bad she suddenly has it, and fully realizing how much of the situation is her own fault.

The midget lion and the crippled wolf
Oh, it definitely heats up.

Incidentally, I'm now about halfway through Dance with Dragons, and holy shit. Those six years were totally worth it.
